Chapter 2731: Asking For Him

Chapter 2731: Chapter 2731: Asking For Him

Angelica Lee let out a low, melodic chuckle, though the sound carried a profoundly dangerous, chilling undertone.

"How incredibly interesting."

Her manicured fingers lightly tapped a rhythmic, menacing beat against the edge of the documents.

"In that case, I will make absolutely sure to drag you over to my side." Angelica Lee’s smile widened slightly, turning entirely malicious. "No matter what underhanded method I have to use to break you."

The temperature in the executive office suddenly felt as though it had dropped several degrees.

After a brief moment of quiet contemplation, Angelica Lee reached for her secure smartphone and dialled a familiar number. The call connected almost immediately, the silence on the other end signalling absolute readiness.

She exchanged only a few short, clipped sentences with the handler on the other side of the line. There was absolutely no need for a lengthy discussion or debate. Her instructions were simple, direct, and ruthless.

The moment she finished delivering her orders, Angelica Lee abruptly ended the call and set the phone face down on the desk.

Then, she slowly rose from her chair, smoothing down her designer dress, and walked toward the floor-to-ceiling glass doors, stepping out onto the expansive balcony that overlooked the glittering metropolis below. The cool, crisp night breeze gently brushed against her face, rustling her hair as she gazed out over the countless city lights stretching endlessly across the horizon.

From her vastly elevated position, the sprawling city looked entirely calm, fragile, and peaceful. But Angelica Lee’s thoughts were anything but peaceful. Her eyes remained fixed on the distant skyline as an intricate web of dark manoeuvres and calculated strategies began rapidly forming within her mind.

Now that she was armed with the knowledge of Tang Qin Hao’s direct connection to Tang Yu Qi, her obsession with him had increased dramatically. What had initially begun as mere corporate admiration for a talented doctor and researcher had now morphed into something far more volatile.

Far more personal.

A faint, mocking smile lingered on Angelica Lee’s lips as she stared into the stark darkness of the night. This was no longer merely a matter of recruiting a capable asset for her company.

This was about breaking Tang Yu Qi’s family. And Angelica Lee never, ever missed a golden opportunity to settle an old score with blood.

....

The second day of the International Medical Research Conference proceeded just as smoothly as the first, but with a starkly different energy. On this day, the heavy security gates were finally opened to the broader medical community and the public.

Experts from dozens of countries flooded into the massive convention hall. Enthusiastic discussions regarding breakthrough surgical techniques, innovative treatment methods, and cutting-edge medical technology echoed vibrantly throughout every corner of the venue. A large number of professors and eager students from various medical universities had also attended the conference. Quite a few of them were die-hard fans of Tang Qin Hao’s medical research, having travelled across borders specifically because they wanted to see the brilliant mind behind those legendary medical journal papers in person.

Tang Qin Hao was undeniably one of the most anticipated and popular speakers at the entire event. His presentation that morning had attracted a packed, standing-room-only audience. Even after the official session ended, a large crowd of senior doctors and researchers surrounded him at the podium, throwing a barrage of complex questions his way. As expected, Tang Qin Hao handled the pressure effortlessly, answering every inquiry with absolute professionalism and a rare touch of patience.

From the secluded comfort of the VIP section on the second floor, Angelica Lee quietly watched the bustling scene unfold below. Her sharp eyes never left his tall figure. The more she observed his demeanour, the more she found him refreshingly different from the countless sycophants and ambitious men she had encountered over the years.

He did not actively seek superficial fame.

He did not chase corporate power.

He did not appear even remotely interested in wealth.

To a woman who possessed everything, the more unattainable and unbothered he seemed, the more fiercely determined she became to conquer and obtain him. A faint, predatory smile played on her lips.

Eventually, the intense morning sessions concluded, and the conference entered its scheduled afternoon break. The thousands of participants gradually filtered out of the main hall to have lunch, network with global colleagues, or catch a brief rest before the next gruelling series of presentations.

Tang Qin Hao politely excused himself from the final lingering group of doctors and headed toward one of the quieter, less-travelled corridors of the convention centre. He fully intended to slip back up to his private room, where he could enjoy some much-needed peace and quiet before returning to present for the afternoon session.

Just as Tang Qin Hao was about to turn a corner toward the residential elevators, a young woman wearing a conference staff badge hurried toward him, looking flustered.

"Dr Tang! Please wait!"

Hearing his surname called out, Tang Qin Hao stopped in his tracks and turned around. The young woman who appeared before him looked slightly out of breath, as if she had been searching for him in a panic.

"Yes? Do you need something from me?" Tang Qin Hao asked, his tone polite but characteristically aloof.

"Someone is urgently looking for you." The woman stated, catching her breath.

"Who?" Tang Qin Hao raised an eyebrow, his instincts tuning in.

"I am not entirely sure about their identity. However, they explicitly mentioned that it concerns a critical patient." The woman replied anxiously.

"A patient?" Tang Qin Hao frowned slightly, his brow furrowing.

"Yes. They insisted it was an absolute emergency and desperately wanted Dr Tang to come and take a look at the patient immediately." The woman stated, her eyes pleading as she tried to convince him.
