Chapter 484: Trust Her
“So if we start now, what are the odds of success?”
A sudden complication, a massive fluctuation in energy—Qin Ling knew the odds of success had surely dropped.
He wanted to know what the odds would be if they proceeded with the original plan now…
“Thirty percent.”
The Sect Leader sighed. With the drastic change in the energy within Tang Mo’s sea of consciousness, the success rate would only continue to drop.
Qin Ling said nothing, gripping Tang Mo’s hand, the one whose fingers had just twitched.
‘Momo just moved. What was she trying to say?’
Qin Ling knew Tang Mo could definitely hear them. She had struggled to move her finger, and it must have been to tell him something.
His large hand enveloped her small one. Both were slightly rough, covered in the faded scars of healed wounds—the marks of their battles.
‘Momo, what on earth are you trying to tell me?’
Qin Ling’s mind raced. ‘If Momo’s consciousness hadn’t returned, we would have no other choice. We couldn’t pass up a thirty percent chance.’
‘But now Momo’s consciousness is back. She even moved her finger. Does that mean things have taken a turn? That there are other possibilities?’
Qin Ling started to get greedy. He felt that a thirty percent chance was suddenly unacceptable.
He kept asking himself what signal Momo could possibly be trying to send.
‘Knowing Momo’s personality, she wouldn’t struggle to send a signal just to tell us to hurry up and start.’
‘Then what does it mean?’
‘Could it be… could it be that she’s found a method on her own and wants to stop us?’
Qin Ling thought he was starting to understand.
‘That’s right, it must be. With Momo’s personality, she never gives up. She’s the type to grasp at any glimmer of light. Now that her consciousness has returned to her body, she must have a solution.’
‘She must be trying to stop us.’
Feeling the warmth from the small hand he gripped, Qin Ling grew even more certain of his conviction.
“Let’s pause the plan for now. Give her a little time?”
Qin Ling had made his decision.
“But…”
The Sect Leader was getting anxious.
‘But this is their—and Tang Mo’s—last chance.’
“Believe in her.”
Qin Ling only said those three words.
‘Since Momo wants them to stop, I’ll trust her.’
He would rather trust her and respect her choice than act on a thirty-percent chance for her.
Qin Ling’s gaze was resolute. He believed that Tang Mo must be fighting hard at this very moment. He had to believe in her, to support her.
“Alright.”
Seeing the undeniable certainty on Qin Ling’s face, the Sect Leader finally nodded.
Since the plan was called off, the Sect Leader silently withdrew, giving them some space.
As for Qin Ling, he just stayed as he was, tightly holding Tang Mo’s hand.
Having chosen to support and trust her, all he could do now was wait and stay by her side.
Meanwhile, Tang Mo, busy using the Emotional Pearl’s energy to repair her sea of consciousness, sensed that the two men had stopped what they were doing. A wave of relief washed over her.
‘As long as they give me time, it’ll be okay.’ She had already begun the repairs. Though the process was far from easy, Tang Mo was filled with joy.
She had experimented and confirmed that using this pink energy to repair her sea of consciousness was a viable solution!
‘As long as I’m on the right track, that’s all that matters.’ Tang Mo began the arduous task of repairs.
The Attribute Pearls sensed their master was repairing her sea of consciousness and worked hard to maintain order among the energies within it. They were striving to create the best possible environment for her, one where she could focus without distraction.
The Emotional Pearl had resided in Tang Mo’s sea of consciousness since its creation, so it naturally had no objection to becoming part of it and actively followed the direction of her consciousness.
Everything was proceeding in an orderly fashion.
Repairing a sea of consciousness is an incredibly complex undertaking. It couldn’t be fixed instantly just by having the right energy; it required rebuilding the framework piece by piece and then filling it in. The slightest carelessness was not an option.
If the work wasn’t meticulous, then even if the sea of consciousness was ultimately repaired, it would be nothing more than a useless container, completely incapable of holding her immense Strength.
How complex was this project? Imagine having to rebuild a house that had been completely demolished. Even with new materials, you had to incorporate every single broken stone from the original structure, leaving none behind.
Furthermore, the house had to be sturdy, beautiful, and functional in the end. If it was merely rebuilt with shoddy workmanship, then all the effort would be for nothing.
After all, this concerned her entire future. With time no longer a pressing issue, Tang Mo began meticulously repairing her shattered sea of consciousness, piece by piece, as if she were sculpting a work of art.
But Tang Mo, who had started the work happily, gradually grew solemn.
She was discovering that as the sea of consciousness was steadily repaired, the pink energy was dwindling. Soon, it wouldn’t be enough…
Tang Mo quickly calculated how much more energy she would need to complete the project at her current pace.
The result made her heart sink. It wasn’t enough.
She wasn’t short by much, but when it came to the sea of consciousness, “almost” was not good enough.
The Emotional Pearl had already been consumed, transforming into this energy. Since the pearl no longer existed, it could not absorb any new energy.
The only other available power sources in her sea of consciousness were the four Attribute Pearls.
Setting aside the fact that using any of these four pearls would lead to the same outcome as using Qin Ling’s Agility Pearl—making it impossible to fuse the Five Beads…
…the moment even one of them was used, the rampaging energy would spiral out of control and consume her.
Each of these Attribute Pearls had its own crucial role to play; they were absolutely off-limits.
‘So, what else is there?’
Tang Mo surveyed her sea of consciousness.
She was surrounded by countless Crystal Stones and abnormal treasures, but she couldn’t use their energy.
Because her sea of consciousness was shattered, she couldn’t use her own power at will, let alone absorb external energy.
The only energy she could command was what was already inside her sea of consciousness.
If the Sect Leader were to lend her his spiritual power right now, using it as a medium to absorb the energy from the Crystal Stones and abnormal treasures and channel it into her sea of consciousness, then perhaps she could succeed.
But conveying such a complex instruction was impossible. Even with Qin Ling standing guard right beside her…
…she couldn’t possibly communicate all that just by twitching a finger.
‘But what else in my sea of consciousness can I use?’
Tang Mo started to panic. Repairing the sea of consciousness couldn’t be done in phases. If it wasn’t completed in one go, and the process dragged on, the portions she had already fixed would break down again, dissolving back into scattered energy.
All her work would be for nothing.
Once that happened, all the energy would become a rampaging torrent she could neither control nor contain. The Attribute Pearls wouldn’t be able to suppress such a massive amount of energy. Then, there would truly be nothing left to do.
