Reborn One Week Before the Apocalypse

Chapter 303 - 293: She Is Glowing

Chapter 303: Chapter 293: She Is Glowing

The first method failed, but Tang Mo wasn’t disheartened.

Being unable to pull conscious entities into her Space wasn’t a complete setback for Tang Mo. At the very least, it revealed another path for dealing with these Constructs.

Destruction and control.

Tang Mo was a Spirit Attribute Superpower User, and her Spirit Attribute had grown immensely, especially after absorbing the Spirit Pearl.

She remembered how, in her last battle with the Soul Beast, it had completely controlled mutant beasts by destroying their brains.

For a superpower user with a high Spirit Attribute, destroying a brain for control wasn’t difficult. However, it was profoundly inhumane, so Tang Mo had never resorted to such a cruel act.

But she had no such reservations about these AI Constructs, which possessed both brains and consciousness. They weren’t real people, so destroying their brains didn’t matter.

Tang Mo released her spiritual power and began to enter the Construct’s brain. Although the Construct had a brain and consciousness, it wasn’t a real person, and its awareness was incredibly weak. As a result, taking complete control of it was even easier than Tang Mo had imagined.

Tang Mo untied the Construct’s bonds. It quickly stood up and then gave Tang Mo a deep bow.

This left Hu Bin stunned, but he quickly came to his senses. Tang Mo was number one on the Huaxia leaderboard; no matter what she did, it didn’t seem so hard to understand anymore.

’It worked!’

The Construct before her was now completely under her command, and Tang Mo felt a surge of joy.

However, she also understood that the moment a Construct’s consciousness was destroyed, the system would immediately detect it. They had been locked onto, and the large horde of Constructs would only arrive faster.

And now, the nearest ones—the Constructs in the nearby houses and the glass house—had already received the command and were rapidly converging on the Euthanasia Room.

Tang Mo felt their approach, but instead of panicking, she was even more delighted.

To her, the appearance of these few dozen Constructs wasn’t a danger; it was a gift from this world.

The farther away the Constructs were, the more spiritual power it would take to control them. So, Tang Mo didn’t act hastily; instead, she let them get closer to the Euthanasia Room.

"You stay in the house and take care of Bo Niou and Mumu!"

Tang Mo tossed Mr. Hu a knife, then positioned herself behind the door.

As the several dozen nearby Constructs drew closer and closer, Tang Mo’s spiritual power stirred.

With the greatest speed, she destroyed the Constructs’ consciousnesses one by one, then injected her own spiritual power to take control.

If they had been real people, it probably wouldn’t have been so easy. But thankfully, they were Constructs. Even with several dozen of them, it didn’t cost Tang Mo too much spiritual power.

The main force, gathered from every corner of the city, would be arriving soon. Tang Mo did a quick count; she had just taken control of over sixty Constructs.

Although it was a drop in the ocean, they were the best weapon she had right now.

She had these sixty-odd Constructs form three circles around the entrance of the Euthanasia Room, hoping they could help her withstand some of the coming pressure.

She also arranged for two Constructs to take up weapons and guard Mr. Hu’s side so they could at least offer some protection if the unexpected happened.

Just as she finished arranging everything, the first wave of the Construct army came into view.

To Tang Mo’s relief, because the Constructs were scattered in different corners of the city, their varying distances meant they wouldn’t all arrive at once. This gave Tang Mo a slight chance to catch her breath.

The moment the first teeming wave of the Construct army appeared, Tang Mo’s spiritual power was already in motion.

She continuously destroyed and controlled Constructs within the army, then used those she’d taken over to block the advance of the others.

There were simply too many oncoming Constructs; controlling all of them was impossible.

Tang Mo’s real plan was to control a portion of them, make them entangle each other and fight amongst themselves, and thus halt the army’s advance.

Soon, as Tang Mo controlled more and more Constructs, the army began to fall into chaos before it could even reach the house.

Initially, Tang Mo only controlled a small number, so while the army’s advance slowed, it still pressed on.

But as Tang Mo rapidly controlled more and more Constructs, the main force gradually descended into chaos.

The order Tang Mo gave to the controlled Constructs was: stall them, eliminate them, at any cost, even if it meant self-destruction.

More and more Constructs fell, and more and more were brought under Tang Mo’s control.

Gradually, as Tang Mo became more and more proficient at destroying and controlling, she could take over a Construct in almost three seconds.

The Constructs she controlled gradually gained the upper hand. The battle was over quickly; in less than fifteen minutes, the only Constructs left standing were Tang Mo’s.

And these Constructs formed the second line of defense Tang Mo had established.

Before Tang Mo could even catch her breath, more Constructs appeared in her field of vision.

With two lines of defense now in place, Tang Mo simply opened the door, stood at the entrance, and began to repeat the same process.

Destroy. Control.

Destroy again. Control again.

Beyond the second line of defense, that wave of Constructs had already fallen into disarray. The few that managed to reach the line were immediately blocked.

Although destroying and controlling the Constructs wasn’t a particularly difficult task for Tang Mo, their numbers were simply too vast.

After destroying an unknown number of Constructs, Tang Mo could feel her spiritual power draining rapidly.

’This can’t go on.’ She didn’t know how many more Constructs were waiting for her or when this battle would ever end.

Tang Mo took out the Spiritual Flower. In one swift motion, she stuffed all the petals and even the leaves into her mouth.

Then she pulled several giant High-level Crystal Stones from her Space and sat directly on them to absorb their energy.

Her rapid consumption of power meant Tang Mo wasn’t at all afraid of absorbing too much; no matter how much she absorbed now, it seemed she couldn’t keep up with what she was expending.

Her body was utterly exhausted, but Tang Mo persisted. She was now using the survivors from the first two waves to face the third approaching horde of Constructs.

The once-empty plain was now carpeted with the broken bodies of Constructs.

Even though they were AI, these Constructs had consciousness and brains, and their physical structure was almost identical to a human’s.

Blood stained the plain red, bodies littering the ground. Only the vibrant woman standing atop the blood-red Crystal Stones was different, an utterly captivating and otherworldly sight.

Hu Bin watched the hellish scene from the window. He saw that Tang Mo’s body was glowing.
