Before Tang Mo arrived, the few people here had feared the corrosive liquid’s arrival more than anything.
Although its flow wouldn’t touch the small houses they had built, the acid brought with it a pungent odor and intense heat. The stench from it dissolving the fish made the already uncomfortable environment even more unbearable.
But now, things were clearly different. Everyone was hoping for the liquid to arrive as soon as possible.
Of course, "everyone" did not include the woman holding the child.

The liquid first trickled down, gradually covering all the fish carcasses on the ground.
After a short while, white bubbles started to form on the carcasses.
Flesh and blood slowly melted away, until only white bones were left to drift in the acidic liquid.
Tang Mo and the others watched all of this silently from the wall.
The process lasted for about two hours. Once all the piled-up carcasses below had been reduced to bone, the enormous Space suddenly began to tremble.
Tang Mo gripped her wall panel tightly, unable to stop herself from thinking, ’This is pathetic. If I had known, I wouldn’t have taken the easy way out. I should have built a small house, too.’
After the Space calmed down again, a huge whirlpool appeared on the floor, toward the back and to the right.
The corrosive liquid slowly converged toward the center of the whirlpool and drained downward.
’Now’s the time!’
Using her spiritual power, Tang Mo formed a large Spiritual Light Ring around herself, about five cubic meters in volume.
Then she stood inside it and, bringing the ring with her, jumped down.
"Hurry and jump down! Jump into the ring!"
Tang Mo controlled the ring, floating it below the two small houses and telling the people above to jump.
She suddenly realized that her spiritual power’s golden glow was a huge advantage right now. ’If the ring were a transparent, silvery-white, the people above might not have dared to jump.’
Seeing Tang Mo standing unharmed inside a giant golden sphere amidst the strong acid, Uncle Bao and the others on the platforms felt their hearts ease considerably.
The five-cubic-meter space was more than large enough, and the golden glow was so obvious that anyone could jump into it easily.
Without hesitation, Uncle Bao led the way, and everyone jumped in one by one.
"This is pretty amazing."
The woman held her child with one arm and touched the sphere with her other hand.
But her hand suddenly passed right through it, touching the outside and startling a scream out of her.
"Don’t move around," Tang Mo warned. "This thing is only effective within five meters of me. If any of you move more than five meters away, don’t blame me for not protecting you."
Tang Mo’s Spiritual Light Ring was centered on her. As long as everyone stayed close to her, they would naturally be safe. If they left her side...
...then their lives would be in the hands of fate.
After hearing this, the others silently sat down, huddling close to Tang Mo as docile as could be.
Tang Mo controlled the sphere, floating it slowly toward the whirlpool. She then let it be pulled down along with the liquid and the animal bones mixed within it.
After entering the whirlpool, no one in the sphere spoke. They all closed their eyes, lost in their own thoughts.
’Where are we? What are we going through?’
They all knew the answer, of course. But compared to escaping this place, becoming part of a giant beast’s excrement didn’t seem so bad.
And so, the group sat in the sphere of light, their eyes closed in rest. They simply drifted with the liquid, imagining they were on a small boat, floating on a vast sea.
After a long time, they suddenly felt the surroundings cool down dramatically.
Opening their eyes, they saw that they were no longer surrounded by bubbling corrosive liquid, but by cool seawater.
"It’s the sea!" a few of them cried out in joyful surprise.
They hadn’t seen the outside world for so long that the sight of the once-familiar seawater moved them to the verge of tears.
"Hold on tight. We’re in the deep sea right now. It’ll be a while before we surface."
Not even the best swimmer could get to the surface from this depth, unless they were a mermaid.
By now, everyone hung on Tang Mo’s every word. They were all incredibly well-behaved, their eyes wide as they gazed at the underwater world as if they had been transported into a stunning deep-sea documentary.
They were all people familiar with the ocean, having spent their whole lives working with it, but this was the first time they had ever admired its beauty up close from the deep sea.
As the sphere of light slowly ascended, a soft-bodied creature suddenly appeared outside, moving alongside them. What was particularly astonishing was that the creature had a luminous pearl balanced on its head.
The pearl clearly wasn’t an ordinary object; its outer surface shimmered with light.
But even if it was a treasure, Tang Mo had no intention of taking it in this situation.
’You can’t just take every treasure you see.’ Tang Mo was not a greedy person.
Every precious treasure is accompanied by danger. That was a certainty.
Besides, Tang Mo had several people with her, and they were in the deep sea—this was not her home turf.
Prioritizing stability above all else, Tang Mo kept her eyes forward and continued to control the sphere’s ascent.
The aquatic creature tentatively touched the sphere, but it recoiled as if burned and quickly moved away. Then it started dancing beside the sphere again.

Seeing the pearl just within her grasp, at a position where she could grab it just by reaching out, the woman with the child was tempted.
She stared intently at the pearl, then, waiting for the right moment, she quickly reached out with her free hand...
The prey had taken the bait.
At that same moment, the aquatic creature shot out a tentacle lined with suckers, wrapped it tightly around the woman’s outstretched arm, and then rapidly pulled back.
"Help me!"
