After Qin Jiale parted ways with her classmates, she wandered off on her own.
She put the little episode behind her, unaware that not far away stood a boy with a green face.
"Qin Jiale."
"Ye Li, what are you doing here?"
Qin Jiale was surprised. What kind of luck was today, running into one person after another?
"You don’t want me here, am I bothering you?" Ye Li felt so angry it hurt his liver.
"What do you mean?" Qin Jiale looked at Ye Li, who seemed inexplicable. What was he up to?
"You know exactly what I mean." Ye Li was about to be driven mad by her. She dared to ask what he meant, as if it wasn’t her problem?
"Are you feeling unwell?" Qin Jiale looked at him, examining his complexion carefully. It seemed perfectly normal.
"You..." Ye Li was ready to explode from anger because of this girl. What kind of thinking was this, so slow-witted?
"What about me? Are you okay?" Qin Jiale felt a sense of worry rising. Could he really be feeling unwell?
"I’m fine. Where are you headed?" Ye Li looked at Qin Jiale, feeling defeated, unable to deal with her.
In such situations, she thought, the result’s the same — she’ll just wander aimlessly. But, since Ye Li asked, how should she respond?
"Is it hard to answer?" Ye Li crossed his arms, waiting for her response.
"It’s not that; I just don’t know how to say it." Qin Jiale hadn’t done anything, but how should she say it, bluntly?
"Just say what you’re thinking. I don’t appear to be that difficult to understand, do I?" Ye Li wasn’t sure what kind of presence he held in her mind. Was it really that tough to converse?
"I just wanted to get out for some air, nothing to buy." Upon hearing Ye Li’s words, Qin Jiale bit the bullet and voiced her thoughts.
When Fu Kai asked, she didn’t want to share her thoughts.
But when Ye Li asked, she unwittingly answered, feeling somewhat baffled.
The result surprised her; she stared at Ye Li steadfastly. Why was she guarded with others, yet spoke freely with Ye Li?
Was her thought process too unconventional? They were merely classmates. Sometimes he bullied her and snatched her food. Why would she divulge her thoughts to such a classmate?
It truly puzzled Qin Jiale; she couldn’t understand what was going on.
"What’s up? Is there something on my face?" Ye Li watched Qin Jiale’s dazed expression, clueless about her thoughts.
"No, just thinking about something. Where’s Shushu?" Upon Ye Li’s question, Qin Jiale snapped back to reality, realizing he was alone here; Ye Zishu was nowhere to be seen, which was unusual.
Previously, Ye Li always had Ye Zishu by his side, but now she was absent. If that wasn’t peculiar, then something was amiss.
"She’s at home taking care of Yuran. Are you looking for her?" Ye Li glanced at Qin Jiale. Instead of seeking him out, she was looking for Ye Zishu, okay then.
"Oh, I just noticed that your usual sidekick is absent today. Turns out Yuran’s kept her occupied." Qin Jiale understood; the child was young and indeed needed someone dedicated to caring for him.
"Who told you we’re inseparable? She always comes to find you." Clearly, it was him tagging along with her each time, but there was no need to disclose that. Let her believe Ye Zishu was the one following him.
