Old Man Xia reminded Ye Jian to go back early, he actually didn’t mean anything else, mainly because he was worried about his daughter coming home too late and encountering danger on the road.
Ye Jian felt somewhat guilty and nodded in agreement, her eyes turned to Xia Jinyuan, and her heart began to beat faster again.
Just now, she thought that since her father hadn’t come home, the matter of the engagement mentioned by Captain Xia could probably be postponed; but now that her father was about to return, and also had a seven-day holiday, didn’t that mean there was plenty of time to finalize the engagement?
"I told you, the future father-in-law would come back." Xia Jinyuan stared at Ye Jian, his Little Fox had nothing more to say now, huh?
"When did you know about it? Where did you find out from? And you’re so sure." Ye Jian found it strange, clearly Grandpa had just received a call and found out her father was coming back, but Captain Xia already acted like he had known earlier, she really couldn’t figure it out.
"Kiss me and get another answer." Xia Jinyuan simply wouldn’t tell, as he wanted another kiss from his girlfriend.
The customers in the store heard his words and smiled amicably. A gentleman even joked, "Young man, you’ve got potential, knowing how to make your girlfriend happy, much better than us back in our day."
"When you were young, you held a guitar and played under my apartment for hours on end, anyone would be better than you." A plump middle-aged woman spoke politely, laughing as she revealed her husband’s past embarrassment, making the middle-aged man stare at her in disbelief.
It was all old news, why bring it up again?
"See, see, you got joked about." The thin-faced Ye Jian glared at Xia Jinyuan, "Addicted to kissing, are you?"
"Ah, I can’t help it, my girlfriend is still adjusting. I’m trying to give her a hand." Xia Jinyuan, with his hands in his pockets, had a casual demeanor like the most handsome model in a magazine. "You were doing so well just now; I thought you got used to it.

Xia Jinyuan sighed and shook his head, "Tonight you have to help me pick out the most suitable outfit to meet the future father-in-law. Once it’s official, I think my girlfriend will be a lot more courageous, after all, it’ll be proper."

Ye Jian helped Xia Jinyuan choose several outfits and picked gifts for the elders of both families. On the way back to Dan Gui Garden with Ye Jian, she still kept wondering why he was so sure Chief Engineer Fu would come home.
"How did you know about my father coming back sooner than Grandpa?" Ye Jian just couldn’t figure it out, her dad would definitely not have contacted him in advance.
And his words didn’t seem spontaneous but rather confident. Now, she suspected that the engagement matter might have been discussed with her father by this guy beside her beforehand!
"Still thinking about that?" Xia Jinyuan laughed joyfully, "Sweetheart, stop thinking about it."
"What exactly is going on?" Ye Jian was indeed curious, "Did you talk to my dad about it?"
"I was actually thinking of mentioning it earlier, but I was worried about the future father-in-law getting distracted from his work." Xia Jinyuan drove steadily and answered with a smile, "Did you forget about my other brother?"
