But in her sleep she clung to his waist, which delighted him. Only when he tried to get up, she unconsciously grabbed him and pulled him back. After being tugged twice, he seemed to understand her worry, and stopped trying to get up early, lying down to sleep in with her.
By the time Gu Jinli woke, it was already afternoon. The first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was Qin San Lang’s smiling face.
She smiled along with him and raised a hand to poke his dimples. "Morning."
Qin San Lang’s smile deepened. "Morning," he answered.
As he spoke, his palm settled on her belly. "It’s already the hour of Wei. Are you hungry?"
Gu Jinli nodded. "I’m starving."
It was hunger that woke her; otherwise she would’ve kept on sleeping.
Qin San Lang said, "Then get up and eat. The food’s all ready. Eating now is just right."
After an autumn rain, the weather now was neither hot nor cold. The hot porridge cooked at noon was at the perfect temperature by now.
"Okay." Gu Jinli agreed, and was just about to sit up when she suddenly curled back down again. Turning her head toward him, she said, "You go out first."
Qin San Lang looked at her slightly flushed face and smiled, saying nothing more as he obediently got up.
Only, as he was getting dressed, he could feel a pair of eyes on his back.
The smile on his face brightened. He slowed down as he dressed and, before fastening his clothes, deliberately turned to face her, circling the bed while looking for his belt... Xiao Yu liked his abs—he knew that. So he let her look!
