Chapter 2399 - 2302: Breaking the Formation!
Chapter 2399: Chapter 2302: Breaking the Formation!
A burst of ethereal and seductive sound echoed in their ears, alarming Fujiwara Seiho and Lu Huairu, yet they felt their minds clouded and bodies completely beyond their control. Retreating was no longer possible!
Just then, a woman with a human body and fish tail slowly emerged from the pool. This Jiaoren had gill plates on her face, but her features were astonishingly alluring and seductive. Her long hair, reminiscent of seaweed, cascaded down her shoulders, and a pair of deep-set eyes stared unblinkingly at Fujiwara Seiho and Lu Huairu.
The Jiaoren’s lips moved subtly, and the ethereal sound emanated from her throat!
That sound carried an enchanting power. Even though Fujiwara Seiho and Lu Huairu sensed something was wrong, they couldn’t resist the strange allure and bewitchment, like puppets on strings, slowly approaching the Jiaoren.
Curse it, Fujiwara Seiho and Lu Huairu were shocked and desperately wanted to retreat, but how could they resist the controlling force of this demonic melody?
This was indeed a demonic melody, not some ethereal music at all, but a devil’s sound that bewitched hearts. But they reacted too late, solely focused on capturing the Little Jiaoren without realizing there were other Jiaoren in the cave, especially such a terrifying female Jiaoren!
The Jiaoren’s gill plates opened and closed, revealing the red, terrifying flesh within. But more terrifying were her eyes, deep and enigmatic like seawater, utterly irresistible.
Fujiwara Seiho and Lu Huairu’s faces twisted, expressions constantly changing, exhausting their energy trying to break free from the prison controlled by the demonic melody. But it was all in vain, as they helplessly watched themselves draw closer to the Jiaoren. Soon, they entered the eerie domain of the Gathering Yin Formation, moving nearer to its core.
At that moment, the Little Jiaoren, clearly trapped in the net and unable to move, suddenly sank into the pool and vanished.
In the next second, the Little Jiaoren sprang from the mud at the other end of the pool, looking smugly at the two people immobilized by the controlling force. He hummed in triumph and spat at the two:
"You two big villains, actually trying to catch me with a net. If you have the guts, go on, catch me! How dare you try to capture me, Lord Qibao, you must be tired of living. Now that you’re caught, let’s see what you’ll do!"
Qibao, flushed with anger, was evidently incensed by their attempt to ensnare him with a net. Given his cultured upbringing, he truly didn’t know how to curse harshly.
So even though the little guy hopped around on the shore, his words carried a child’s innocence, amusing Huo Sining lurking on the opposite shore, who could barely suppress her laughter.
But at this moment, Huo Sining had no time to exchange words with the little fellow. Her gaze was icy, fixated on the two people controlled by the Siren’s Enchanting Melody, secretly awaiting the best opportunity promised by the Sea Demon.
As the Sea Demon’s song rose to a crescendo, the magic within the spiritual voice grew stronger, while the two people clearly lost consciousness, entirely becoming puppets of the Sea Demon. Huo Sining instantly understood it was time to act!
She drew a dagger from her hand, almost instinctively slicing towards Fujiwara Seiho, the closest to her.
The silver flash of the dagger cut across the back of Fujiwara Seiho’s hand, opening a gaping wound.
The next moment, blood gushed forth from the wound, the scent of blood instantly permeating the air, and the seemingly insignificant Yin Gathering Array was infused with life, suddenly awakening. The entire array began to spin wildly, violently throwing Huo Sining aside!
Huo Sining didn’t anticipate the array’s power being so stimulated by the man’s blood. Originally, she intended to leave Lu Huairu behind, but never expected the array to activate so completely, isolating all living forms and preventing her from approaching.
Meanwhile, the Jiaoren’s song ceased, and the originally controlled Lu Huairu was instantly ejected by the array, catapulting him against the cave’s stony wall with a loud thud.
Huo Sining wanted to check on Lu Huairu, but he was surprisingly alert. Upon hitting the wall, he quickly regained his senses and, before hitting the ground, sprang away from the chamber, fleeing the cave rapidly, stunning Huo Sining with his speed, completely resembling not at all a seventy-year-old man!
Outside the mountain was pitch black. Using shrub cover, that damn Taoist fled somewhere unknown. Pursuing him now was incredibly challenging. Huo Sining understood that the urgent task was rescuing the Jiaoren, with other matters left for later, deciding not to chase after Lu Huairu, focusing solely on the changes occurring in the array by the deep pool.
At the instant the array activated, Fujiwara Seiho was drawn by a powerful force, floating in mid-air above the clear pool’s center.
His hand, with a mere inch-long wound, now unleashed a torrent of blood like an open floodgate. He wanted to scream but could produce no sound, helplessly watching his blood being drawn out, brightening the array’s runes.
Minutes passed, or perhaps half an hour, Huo Sining couldn’t determine the time, only knowing she was standing by the pool, fixated on the array.
As the runes in the array became stained with blood, the node restraining the Jiaoren’s body began to change. The pool’s water swiftly rotated towards the node like a whirlpool, concentrating at the node as if drawn into a massive black hole.
Throughout, Huo Sining sensed chill winds sweeping over her as the array operated intensely, yet the cave seemed unmoved, unaffected by the turmoil.
Finally, the deep pool’s water drained completely into the black hole, and the spring eye referred to by the Jiaoren as the array’s core vanished the moment the last drop was absorbed!
