Chapter 162 - Not A Hallucination
Chapter 162: Not A Hallucination
From the moment he asked until he eventually jumped—it all happened under two minutes.
His movements were too quick, and he didn’t waste any time on meaningless words. Before Chu Xuning had time to react, he had already jumped.
“Chief… chief detective, Master Yu jumped off the helicopter.” Chu Xuning pressed the communications device on his ear. A trained professional, he still reacted calmly and efficiently, even at such a time. “Have someone prepare the medical facilities. Oh yes, bring Tao Zhuo over. Ms. Su has always done things in a reasonable manner. I don’t believe that anything happened to her. Master Yu was too impulsive.”
Chu Xuning surveyed the sea of fire below, to seek out a landing spot.
Looking down from such a height was enough to make one tremble in fear.
He didn’t understand how the heavily-injured Yu Shijin managed to jump down from such a high point?
Yu Shijin did a forward roll the moment he touched the ground to break his fall.
Propping himself up on one hand, he coughed heavily before pulling the hood of his windbreaker over his head. He then oriented himself and entered the sea of fire.
There was not the slightest bit of hesitation in his smooth movements.
His state of emotions also remained as cold and indifferent as ever.
If someone else had been there, they would have noticed the extreme chilliness in those eyes of his.
She had also disappeared in such a sea of fire the previous time.
Yu Shijin stood at the entrance. Even at such a time, his thoughts were clear. He had seen the map for this place.
His powerful brain was analyzing the best route for rescue.
“Boss, what is your current location? We are coming over now.” Chief detective’s voice was transmitted over the communications device.
“Stay on the outside and wait for my instructions.” With a detached expression, Yu Shijin stepped into the sea of fire.
He was completely engulfed.
Su Huiqing had indeed not come out.
She had blown up this old hideout the moment she arrived. But just as she was about to leave, she unexpectedly noticed a familiar figure.
She would never forget that figure.
It was the final person she saw at the International Battlefield.
But the geography of this place was too complicated and that person’s movements too obscure.
The insides were already starting to collapse.
Su Huiqing had taken off her jacket and was only wearing a white shirt. Her slender body dodged countless obstacles.
Her movements were precise and fluid.
If it was somewhere else, Qu Yan and the gang would have been awed.
She kept a close watch on her surroundings as she headed toward the outside.
Just as she arrived at a crossroads, a black figure flashed by the corner of her eye.
Su Huiqing narrowed her eyes and glanced over, only to see the clean ends of a shirttail.
It was Yu Shijin.
Su Huiqing’s eyes darkened. Without thinking, she pursued after him.
At the same time, she was silently counting down.
That face was exceptionally clear and radiant under the glow of the flames.
Yu Shijin took out his cell phone. He no longer had any reception. Only the communications device in his ear still linked him to the outside world.
His face hardened as his straight brows were furrowed tightly together.
“No one is to enter. All of you are to wait for my instructions outside.” He pressed the communications device on his ear, as he nimbly ducked an obstacle. He continuously scanned his surroundings.
“What about you and Ms. Su?”
Yu Shijin lifted his gaze, his eyes glinting sharply. He calmly replied, “We will make it out.”
His men, who were waiting outside, felt soothed by his steadying words.
Su Huiqing took another turn but still failed to see Yu Shijin.
Just as she was suspecting if it was all a hallucination, a white figure suddenly appeared.
“It’s you?” Su Huiqing halted. Her eyes were like two ice-cold glaciers as she stared at the person.
“Do you know me?” The white figure wavered.
She turned and revealed a perfect face.
Su Huiqing stuffed her hands into her pocket as she stared impassively at the person before her. Her lips curled up in a lazy smile. “It was you who lured me inside earlier?”
Her smile was cold, devilish and languid all at once.
Her eyes were also clear and calm.
For certain people, the feeling they inspired in others would never change.
Su Huiqing was such a person.
Otherwise, Chi Yue and the gang would never have suspected her.
The person in white was startled. She stared back at Su Huiqing in a chilly manner. “Your character is very similar to someone who disgusts me.”
“What a coincidence. You also look very much like someone whom I find repulsive.” Su Huiqing lowered her lashes, concealing the viciousness in her eyes.
“In that case, you have no choice but to die here today!” The white-clad person narrowed her eyes as she brandished a flaming red sword. She charged vehemently toward Su Huiqing.
Su Huiqing gave an aloof smirk.
The sword was called Long Rainbow.
It was her personal weapon.
Su Huiqing never expected to see Long Rainbow again and in someone else’s hands.
She took a few steps back as she watched the flaming red blade.
No one understood her own weapon better than her.
Although she was just a third-level now, she might not necessarily lose if she had to face off with Long Rainbow.
The white-clad person snorted when she noticed Su Huiqing’s grave expression. She waved the sword again and charged at Su Huiqing with added pressure.
Su Huiqing dodged.
Her right fist was encased in a glowing white mist which she swung in her direction.
If there had been anyone else at the scene, they would clearly see Long Rainbow’s red light gradually dissipating and then completely disappearing!
Su Huiqing straightened herself.
She raised her hand and blew at her own fist, a cold smirk on her lips. “Long Rainbow has to draw blood whenever it is raised. A pity you are not worthy.”
The white-clad woman stared at Su Huiqing in shock. It was as if she never expected to meet such a formidable person.
“You are becoming increasingly like her.” The face of the white-clad woman darkened. “You need to die today.”
The fire blazed on fiercely outside.
The body of the white-clad woman burst into flames as she charged straight at Su Huiqing.
At this moment.
All the fire in the surroundings, including those on the white-clad woman, instantly disappeared.
It was like everything within a five-meter radius had turned to ice. Not even a spark could be seen.
Su Huiqing’s heart jumped. She instinctively turned to look.
And instantly saw the aloof figure standing at the crossroads.
He stood tall and erect, raging flames soaring right behind him.
His eyes were pitch-black and icy-cold.
Cold and distant, pristine as a painting.
Su Huiqing pursed her lips. It really was him. What happened earlier… was no hallucination.
