Yu Shijin left shrouded in a frosty aura.

Dumbfounded, Chi Qing remained on the spot, his eyes completely glazed over.

Remember, she has already died once.

With trembling hands, he opened the car door and stepped on the accelerator.

Luckily he was a professional race car driver and possessed instinctive good driving skills. If it was someone else, a terrible accident would definitely have occurred.

He finally calmed down by the time he reached Su Huiqing’s villa.

“Help me pass this potion to Dugu.” Su Huiqing was sitting on the sofa. She tossed a transparent bottle over to him.

Chi Qing caught the potion.

But he didn’t leave immediately. He just stood there watching her, his alluring eyes turning a shade darker. “Captain, tell me. What actually happened on that day at the International Battlefield?”

Su Huiqing pursed her lips.

She lowered her eyes, the expression on her face turning icy-cold. “Why are you suddenly asking me about this?”

“I don’t believe you will die.” Chi Qing shut his eyes.

His voice wavered slightly on the word “die”.

Even more so, he didn’t believe that she would really be accidentally blown up.

Especially when he heard Yu Shijin’s words: Do you think I will let you guys cause her death a second time?

“Do you really want to know?” Su Huiqing nudged Empress Su to the side and stared coldly at Chi Qing.

Chi Qing nodded seriously.

Su Huiqing lowered her lids, her lashes hiding the dimmed light in her eyes. “Will you believe me if I told you that someone betrayed me?”

“Who is it?” Chi Qing asked vehemently as he clenched his fists.

That expression clearly indicated his trust in Su Huiqing.

However.

Su Huiqing just smirked. For the first time ever, she gazed at Chi Qing indifferently. “What if that person is someone whom you also trusted wholeheartedly?”

“Impossible…” Chi Qing’s pupils dilated.

Someone whom he also trusted wholeheartedly. He could only think of one.

He instinctively rebutted. “Qingqing, are you joking?”

Su Huiqing actually already predicted such a response from him.

Even so, she still felt a slight chill in her heart.

This was also the reason why after her rebirth, she didn’t seek out her childhood friend Chi Qing but instead went looking for Chi Yue.

“Alright, I was indeed joking.” She smiled nonchalantly, lowering her eyes to hide the cold glint flashing past her pupils. “You should head home now, you still have to go back to the International Association tomorrow.”

Chi Qing remained standing there.

He continued observing Su Huiqing’s face.

His heart sank.

As dense as Chi Qing was, he knew that if he just left like that today, there would be an irreparable gulf between Su Huiqing and him.

But Su Huiqing didn’t give him the chance to speak again. She casually took up her cell phone and went upstairs.

Uncle Chen treated him very hospitably at first.

But before long, he was nearly chasing him off with a broom.

All until 11pm, when Yu Shijin came home, exuding his usual chilliness. He immediately noticed Chi Qing.

“What’s the matter?” He stared at Chi Qing coldly.

Uncle Chen always went to bed at 10pm sharp. However, because of Chi Qing, he was unable to sleep even though it was already 11pm. He complained to Yu Shijin through gritted teeth, narrating that night’s events to him.

Yu Shijin’s eyes turned a shade cooler with every word.

He more or less surmised what had happened.

He turned harsh, sharp eyes onto Chi Qing. As if trying to suppress his anger, he finally spat out one sentence. “I should never have let you come to Green City. Get lost.”

“Mr. Chi, please leave,” Chief detective persuaded in a low voice as he entered through the front door. “It is very frightening when Master Yu flies into a rage.”

Chi Qing didn’t know why Yu Shijin would suddenly appear here.

But he knew that as long as Yu Shijin was here, there was no way he would be seeing Su Huiqing today.

Chi Qing walked out the front door but didn’t immediately leave.

He just sat in his own car and took out his cell phone. He sent a message to Chi Yue.

Before long, Chi Yue replied: I am not you. I didn’t have the good fortune of growing up with Captain. But there is one thing which all the people of Unknown Island and I have in common. I only trust her.

After reading that message, Chi Qing glanced up at the room on the second floor. The lights were still turned on.

At that point in time, Yu Shijin was knocking on the door to that room.

Uncle Chen was standing behind him, holding a carton of milk. “Ms Su needs to attend school tomorrow. She might be asleep already?”

“No.” Yu Shijin was certain.

Indeed, Su Huiqing opened the door just as the words left his lips. She wasn’t even in pyjamas yet, and didn’t look like she was sleeping anytime soon.

She gazed at the two men in silence.

Yu Shijin glanced at her and raised his brows.

He then took the milk from Uncle Chen and shoved it into her hands. He stated in an icy tone. “Useless.”

Su Huiqing opened her mouth to say something.

“Why are you upset over those heartless creatures?” Yu Shijin cut in. “Hurry up and go to bed. You still have classes early tomorrow morning.”

Su Huiqing, “…’”

Yu Shijin finally turned and walked back to his own room after she closed her door.

He took up his cell phone and made a call.

The moment the call was connected, he paused for a moment, his face extremely grim. “Have someone immediately bring Chi Qing away.”

Another second passed.

He himself was not sure if Chi Qing could still make it back alive to the International Association.

Chi Qing was brought to the airport.

Before he left, he called Su Huiqing on the phone. It was picked up on the first ring.

But before he could say a single word, someone snatched the phone away from him…
