Chapter 1834 - 1834 Old Liang Family Residence, Entrance In the Liang Ancestral Hall
1834 Old Liang Family Residence, Entrance In the Liang Ancestral Hall
Fang Yu didn’t dare hide it at that moment, and immediately said honestly, “Ningwen and I had the same clue: Only two people can leave this place alive in the end.”
After saying that, Fang Yu’s lips trembled. Afraid that the two of them would think too much, he wanted to say something, but hesitated. In the end, he didn’t say much and just spat out, “I’m sorry!”
Chi Shuyan and Qi Hao raised their eyebrows. Qi Hao finally understood why Brother Fang and Brother Lu, who had always trusted them, didn’t want to share information with them and had even kept it a secret.
Still, he could understand why. After all, no matter how well they got along in the past few days, they had only known each other for a short amount of time; it wasn’t to the point of absolute trust. Moreover, he was very grateful to Fang Yu and Lu Ningwen for their goodwill and warning.
Qi Hao was afraid that Fang Yu would feel embarrassed, so he chuckled and joked with him, “You and Ningwen are really lucky. My sister-in-law didn’t get any clue, just a blank piece of paper.”
Chi Shuyan: “…”
Qi Hao’s words finally diverted Fang Yu’s attention. He was no longer immersed in guilt, and looked curiously at Qi Hao.
Chi Shuyan wasn’t someone who couldn’t tell right from wrong. Her thoughts were similar to Haozi’s, and she didn’t say much as they moved forward.
The most important thing now was to find Lu Ningwen as soon as possible. Who knew how he was doing right now? The three went downstairs and walked for a while. At a fork, Qi Hao couldn’t help but ask, “Sister-in-law, which way are we going now?”
“This way!” Chi Shuyan pointed. As soon as she said that, there was suddenly a cry for help in the distance. It was very short-lived, and there was the sound of a woman and man’s voices. Fang Yu recognized Lu Ningwen’s familiar voice. He jerked and immediately said agitatedly, “It’s Ningwen’s voice. Celestial Master Chi, it’s Ningwen’s voice.”
Chi Shuyan recognized both Lu Ningwen and Song Yanru’s voices. She looked into the distance and immediately said, “Go, to the Liang ancestral hall.”
Qi Hao was subconsciously puzzled. “Sister-in-law, didn’t we just…” Before he could finish speaking, his sister-in-law was already headed in the direction of the Liang ancestral hall. Qi Hao could only hurry after his sister-in-law with Fang Yu on his back.
This place was really scary in the middle of the night, not to mention that some monster might appear. It was more important for him to keep up with his sister-in-law.
The three of them quickly arrived at the Liang ancestral hall, but it was quiet inside and out. If it wasn’t for the fact that Lu Ningwen and Song Yanru’s voices had come from this direction, they might have thought that they had taken the wrong path.
The three went in together. They went up to the third floor and came back down again, but didn’t see anyone.
As usual, Qi Hao pinned his hopes on his sister-in-law; it was his sister-in-law who had found Fang Yu just now. Qi Hao couldn’t help but say, “Sister-in-law, are you sure Brother Lu is here?”
Fang Yu was also very anxious. He could just barely be considered lucky compared with Ningwen being chased by that Song woman and by that monster. Fang Yu subconsciously looked at where he was missing an arm with a bleak face, but he didn’t dare drag everyone else down nor draw too much attention to his condition. He looked anxiously at Celestial Master Chi in front of him and wanted to say something, but hesitated.
Chi Shuyan suddenly said, “Don’t make a sound. There’s movement downstairs.”
The three of them held their breaths and fell silent. Sure enough, not long after, they heard a faint sound, like someone panting as they ran desperately. The sound flustered them, and their hearts felt like they were about to jump out of their chests.
Qi Hao and Fang Yu didn’t know what was going on at all. Chi Shuyan walked around for a while, before she twisted a wall lamp in one corner. When she did so, a huge hole suddenly opened in the floor, scaring Fang Yu and Qi Hao.
It was pitch-black inside, and they couldn’t see anything. Chi Shuyan, on the other hand, was able to see a few metal chains. “I’ll go down first. Are you guys staying here or coming down with me?”
Qi Hao and Fang Yu didn’t hesitate to say that they would go with her. Without her by their side, they felt especially insecure, so they might as well follow her.
In the end, Chi Shuyan didn’t refuse; it would be easier to take care of each other together, and she was worried about leaving Haozi here alone.
Chi Shuyan had Haozi turn on the light. With the light on, the metal chains at the top of the hole could be more clearly seen. Qi Hao was still a little worried and suggested that he go down first.
If anything happened to his sister-in-law, his cousin definitely wouldn’t let him off. Besides, he was a big man; how could he hide behind his sister-in-law? Qi Hao righteously suggested that he go down first.
Chi Shuyan ignored this kid’s words and went down into the hole. As she did so, she reminded them to be careful, and she would see them at the bottom.
“Got it, Sister-in-law!”
When Qi Hao saw how his sister-in-law was swallowed up by the darkness, he was anxious and hurriedly followed. Afraid that something would happen, he told Fang Yu to grab firmly onto him.
“No problem, don’t worry, Brother Qi.” Fang Yu nodded. Looking at the dark hole, he was still a bit apprehensive.
After Chi Shuyan reached the bottom, Fang Yu and Qi Hao followed suit as they climbed down using a metal chain. The metal chain shook a little. They dropped into cold water at the bottom, which immediately seeped into their clothes.
Chi Shuyan had spiritual energy to protect her, so she didn’t feel anything. Seeing that Haozi and Fang Yu’s expressions weren’t right, she hurriedly had them move to dry ground on the side.
After everyone was on dry ground, Chi Shuyan had time to look around. It wasn’t as dark down here; there were a few dim yellow lamps on the walls. They were probably from a long time ago, and many of them were broken. Only a few were fine, and the light which they gave out wasn’t bright. However, there were a lot of fluorescent stones around, which just barely illuminated their surroundings.
Chi Shuyan could clearly see the muddy river which they had climbed out of. Next to them, there were four small paths that wound deep into the cave. Her right eyelid twitched. “Go, we’ll take this path. Haozi, follow me closely. Don’t get lost!”
