Chapter 1319: The Grand Duke of Harpe’s Daughter, Amelia Harpe
’So this is the Grand Duke’s treasured daughter and the target behind the recent attack on the Noble District. At a glance, her condition seems pretty stable.’
Izroth used his Energy Vision Sense and Divine Appraisal to briefly examine the young lady.

’It’s just as I thought. Her physical condition is not the source of her affliction. Then, it must be an internal one. Under these circumstances, I would not be surprised if it was the work of a curse. However, this is the Kroma family. One of the first thing they would have used when she showed no signs of awakening is someone or something that can detect and purify curses. Not to mention, even if it was a cure, unless it’s one on the same level as the Curse of the Netherworld, the Kroma family should have the means of treating it.’
"Still, I can not rule out any possibilities." Izroth said to himself as he used Deep Insight.
〈System Alert: [3] Flaws have been discovered in «Amelia Harpe»!〉
〈System Alert: Flaw [1]: This person is currently in a comatose state.〉
〈System Alert: Flaw [2]: The mana in this person’s body is slowly corroding.〉
〈System Alert: Flaw [3]: An unknown foreign substance resides within this person’s body that is causing this person’s comatose state.〉
’Corroding mana and an unknown foreign substance... Whatever this substance is, since it’s causing her comatose state, it’s most likely also responsible for her mana corrosion. But, it’s strange. Even with my Energy Vision Sense, the mana flowing through her shows no signs of mana corrosion. There are also no traces of any kind of foreign substance as far as I can tell. That said, Deep Insight has never given me a flaw that does not exist. That means the foreign substance that invaded her body is good at keeping itself concealed.’
"It’s no wonder the Kroma family has failed to awaken her. If it’s something that can evade the detection of my Energy Vision Sense, it’s not a problem that can be solved through conventional means."
After he spent a few minutes examining Amelia, Izroth heard a knock on the door. When he went to answer it, Quicksil handed him a sealed scroll.
"All the information Supreme Elder Izroth requested is sealed within that scroll. I made sure to verify that everything is accurate before sealing it myself to ensure that not even a single word is incorrect." Quicksil stated confidently.
Izroth accepted the scroll and replied, "You’ve worked hard."
"This is nothing compared to what the Supreme Elder is doing for Lady Harpe. Ah, my apologies, I nearly forgot to mention in my haste—you can contact me via the communication magic orb located on the nightstand next to the bed. Of course, I will still be in the room directly across the hall should you require my presence. Then, I won’t keep the Supreme Elder any longer. Please, take good care of Lady Harpe." Quicksil said sincerely.
"I understand. I will contact you soon. And—leave it to me." Izroth responded without hesitation.
After Quicksil gave his farewell, the door closed. The following moment, Izroth broke the seal scroll’s seal.
The scroll Quicksil gave to Izroth contained the information he requested regarding the previous treatments given to Amelia Harpe. As he read over the information on the scroll, Izroth could not help but release a small sigh.
’Oh? Some of the methods here aren’t bad. If this is everything and it’s listed accurately, I can eliminate the possibility of sabotage from those who have previously provided treatment. The treasures and medicines used also don’t conflict with each other and shouldn’t cause any issues for what I have in mind.’
Izroth closed the scroll and placed it aside. He then walked over toward Amelia’s bedside.
"Fortunately, now that I know the source of the problem and there are no unexpected variables, the solution itself is quite simple. First, I need to know exactly what I’m dealing with. In order to do that, I will have to lure this unknown substance out of hiding without mistakenly causing harm. If I want to lure a beast out of hiding, I have to prepare a feast that it’s unable to resist. Seeing as how she’s experiencing mana corrosion, it must be feeding on her mana while perfectly mimicking its properties so that it can remain completely undetected." Izroth said as he tapped the magic orb stationed on the nightstand by the bed.
’While using my own mana isn’t bad, it’s not a tempting enough meal to force it out of hiding. For that, there’s something that can accomplish the task with much more efficiency.’
Not long after Izroth tapped the magic orb, an image of someone appeared within it as a familiar voice sounded from it.
"Supreme Elder Izroth—I know you said that you would be contacting me soon. But, this is unexpected. Can it be that you found a problem in the scroll?" Quicksil said as he could not hide his troubled expression. He was certain that he checked over everything and left no room for error.
"There’s no issue with the scroll’s contents. Rather, I found it helpful in deciding my path. I may have found a way to awaken Lady Harpe, but I require-" Izroth started; however, he was quickly interrupted.
"You found a way?! T-this..! Whatever you need just say the word! I will see to it at once!" Quicksil said hurriedly as he jumped to his feet.
It did not take long for Quicksil to realize his actions as he quickly straightened himself out and calmed down.
He cleared his throat to hide his embarrassment and said, "I apologize for my sudden outburst. What is it that the Supreme Elder requires? I will have it delivered immediately."
Izroth inwardly shook his head. He did not blame Quicksil for his excitement. Besides, it made it much easier to request the items he needed to cure Amelia.
"I need magic cores—as many as you can gather. At minimum, they must be High-Grade Magic Cores. But, keep in mind that the higher the grade, the better the potential results will be. I also need a mage. Their strength is not important. Instead, they must have excellent mana control skills and the ability to keep calm when faced with unexpected situations. Although it’s not an absolute requirement, it would be ideal if they specialized in water magic. Of course, above all else, they must follow my exact instructions without question." Izroth stated calmly.
Since there may be little to no room for error when dealing with the unknown substance, Izroth needed someone who would not hesitate to carry out the orders he gave—even if those orders went against their own judgment.
Izroth went on to give a list of a few more materials. All of which were herbs that possessed mana enhancing or mana stimulating effects.
"Understood. Give me twenty- no, ten. Give me ten minutes. I will see to it that your request is granted without fail. Then, pardon me." Quicksil said before the communication magic orb cut out.
