Chapter 1961: Deal with the Chef
Chapter 1961: Deal with the Chef
Sam and the trio appeared in the inn.
With the added formations of his own, no one noticed his appearance in the room.
"Just go ahead and stay in other rooms. Keep yourselves in perfect condition. Whoever reaches the optimum state first will get the first chance to breakthrough. I will lay out the perfect formation with the perfect resources."
The three of them nodded and went to three different rooms.
Meanwhile, Sam went to the exchange centre once again. This time the receptionist who saw Sam stood up hurriedly with excitement.
Sam looked at him and chuckled before giving three more formation blueprints.
"Exchange everything to coins."
The attendant nodded and threw them one by one in the formation. The appraisal of the items was done swiftly and with each blueprint, the receptionist felt a new level of excitement. Each blueprint is worth well over three million gold coins.
It is not just the price that excited him. He has seen some miracles in his time here. It is Sam's way of doing things. He is not immune from the rumors that are going around. So, He knew what Sam is doing.
Just from the money he earned on the first day, Sam already stirred up so much shit, now with this amount of money, he can only imagine what is going to happen.
Sam collected the money and went out.
He walked openly on the streets and many people already recognized him.
But Sam didn't care.
He walked into the restaurant calmly and took a seat. The waiter that previously served him came running with a wide grin on his face.
"Hello Sir, how are you doing? Everyone thought you went into hiding after stirring up trouble."
"Let them think what they want. I can't be bothered with the opinions of the masses. Anyway, what's special for today?"
"It has been a while since there is a change in our menu sir. The specials are same as always."
"Why is that? Your chef lost his touch with the creativity?"
"I don't know." The waiter just shrugged with a smile.
Sam nodded and ordered for a bowl of soup along with some sides.
"Any drinks sir?"
"Come on, you know I have better drinks that this restaurant. I am sure you have tasted one of the bottles."
"Of course." The young man scratched his head. He indeed tasted one of the bottles and he was absolutely lost in that heavenly taste of the liquor.
"I will get your order right away. Please wait for a couple of minutes."
"Wait." Sam stopped him and placed three scrolls on the table.
He hovered his finger over all three and then thought for a moment before he picked one of them.
"Give this to your chef."
The waiter was confused and asked.
"May I know what this is?"
"Its something that your chef has been looking for."
"My chef has been looking for?"
"Yes, you can go to him and present this. He will understand what that is and I am sure he will come out and meet me."
"My chef hasn't met anyone for a long time. He has barely came out to for the public to see. Most of the people in the city don't even know what he looks like. He is that level of a private person and you are telling me that he will come and meet you? I am sorry it is hard to believe."
The waiter said those words, but still took the scroll and went to the kitchen.
Inside the kitchen the waiter ran hurriedly to a man who is standing in front of a large stove.
He wore a white robe and had a peaceful expression on his face. That peaceful expression is in a complete contrast with the huge size of his body that stood around six and a half feet tall. The muscles looked like they were carved out of mountain stones as he stirred a large pot with an equally huge ladle.
"Chef, Mr. Sam who caused a scene a couple of days ago came back and told me to give this to you."
Chef frowned as he looked at the scroll. This is not the first time people offered him things. He is very popular and many of them wanted to be in their faction. He was offered treasures, women, riches and everything he could ever want.
But he never really cared about those things.
He thought Sam is also trying to bribe him, but when he recalled how Sam handled things, he felt that would be way too much of a simplification.
He took the scroll doubtfully and opened it. .com
There were a series of words written neatly. Line by line forming a full recipe and finally there is an image neatly painted at the bottom in a great detail.
As soon as he skimmed through the contents, his eyes widened, the peace was gone and his aura raged for some reason. He calmed down the very next second and came back to his sense. There is visible excitement in his eyes and he had goosebumps all over.
"Is he still in the restaurant?"
"Yes, he is waiting for his order to be served."
The chef immediately ran out to Sam who is leisurely sipping his wine. When he saw the chef coming to him in such a hurry, he just smiled and before the other party could even speak, he gestured him to sit down.
"I hope you liked what I sent you."
"How.. How…" The chef wanted to ask some questions but he didn't even know where to start. So, Sam took the cue to speak.
"How do I know that your soup is an incomplete recipe?"
The chef nodded like a pecking hen.
"Why do you think I had ten bowls of it? As much as it is beneficial for the cultivation, it is the not the greatest elixir I could afford for my growth. I can eat raw meat and still gain the same level of benefits if I want to.
At first I was just curious about the taste and also wanted to mess with some people. That is why I ordered such a large amount of soup.
But as I tasted all those bowls, I understood one thing. The energy is acting a certain way when you consume the soup. It is concentrated and refined. At the same time is acting like a conscious being. It is trying to notice the natural energy circulation route of the cultivation technique and move along with it.
The soup itself is made to eliminate the energy wastage that happens with every single elixir intake. But that is not all, you wanted to infuse elemental energies into it, but that increased the wastage of energy, defeating the purpose of it.
You have been trying this for a long time. So, I thought I would just give you a hand."
The chef felt a mix of complex emotions run through his mind. He had indeed been trying this for years. He has put in a great deal of effort and resources in research. And to think that Sam just ate the soup once and he came back with a solution after two days, he felt like he has been wasting his life all along.
The excitement was replaced with a glooming sadness.
Sam noticed this and said.
"Sometimes things are beyond our hands, just from the recipe you should have understood that the route I took would have been impossible for you to figure out since you couldn't seen the energy the way I did.
And in times like this, rather than being stuck on a problem you should take help from people like me and further your research.
I am sure this is not the end of this soup. There is something more that you want to do with it. And that part is something that I didn't understand or envision. That is yours to figure out."
"Why are you giving this to me? This level of expertise in energy modification is very valuable. You could have gotten these techniques appraised and then publicized with an academy. You would get name, fame and all the recognition and riches that you could ever need."
"I would rather have a friendly cooperation with you. Name, fame, riches and recognition, they are all very easy for me to acquire. Worthy collaborations and friendships are hard to come by.
I have worked on two more variants of this soup. One with a neutral element that works for swordsmen and another for a Dual elements of fire and metal. As long as you can successfully finish making the soup based on the recipe I already gave you, I will give you the remaining two.
You can take those as reference and work on other variants. Like a soup for spear users, a soup for archers and a soup for barbaric fighters, you can also work on soups for multiple elemental combinations.
Not only that, I will also get a rival and a co-worker that you would love to work with."
