Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 999: Some Kind of Black Hole Pet

The moment he reappeared on the ship, all seemed well, except for the time that had been slightly tampered with.

But just then, a large spatial crack appeared out of thin air, and within moments, some kind of strange energy began to spread out, covering the whole ship in mere moments.

It wasn’t mana, nor was it some other form of energy related to mana, so while Rael found it strange, he also realized it would be easy for him to interact with it and stop it.

However, despite him stopping it in this location, he quickly saw it appear in another part of the universe and continue to expand. He was confused by just what this thing was, but it still didn’t change the fact that it was dangerous and headed for the things he cared about.

Notably, once it reappeared in another place, it just so happened to be one of the planets he had once visited. Every time it absorbed something, it grew larger and larger, like some infinite black hole that would continuously grow.

How strange.

“Hmm? Rael?” Lilith called out, surprised. “What are you doing here?”

“Nothing much. I realized there’s some universe-eating entity out there that’s capable of destroying everything, including you. Not sure where it came from though, so that’s that,” Rael replied matter-of-factly.

“Ah… Is that what that wave just now was?” Lilith asked, then glanced around. “Is it fine now?”

Rael shrugged. “No idea. For now, just be careful. I’m not sure what this thing is, so I’ll need to find out first.”

Before Zafira could even get close enough to talk to him, Rael went ahead and teleported to where this thing currently was. So long as he didn’t directly interact with it, it wouldn’t teleport away.

In contrast, this thing seemed to just be a natural black hole, but somehow with its power magnified several billion fold, to the point where it could one-shot beings like Zafira and Lilith.

Of course, to him it was nothing. He could get closer to it and feel nothing. In that same regard, Rael simply tip-toed around the thing, looking for some kind of trace of whatever really was inside of it, but to no avail.

It does seem kind of artificial though. I doubt it would appear like that and start targeting my wives on its own. It’s odd… But who do I have a grudge with that would do something like this? Renoir? I doubt it. He’s too big of a coward to mess with me after knowing I’m stronger than him.

Zarkul? Definitely not. That guy had told Rael to stay away from his daughter, and so he did. He still glanced over to see how Alune was doing every now and again, but still, she didn’t seem to be doing anything special aside from lazing around and recovering.

It seemed like with every recovery, her strength would grow more and more. It was an interesting physique, and by default, Rael had kind of wanted it too at first, until he realized he could just simulate it himself, giving himself an infinite amount of power on a whim.

Welp.

“I guess I should just try to get rid of it again,” Rael thought out loud. But right as he was about to do so, Gaia’s urgent voice rang out inside his head.

[Don’t touch it for now… It’s a Universe Destroyer. It’s a natural phenomenon that happens whenever too many people are born at once… I’m guessing it happened this time because you became the ruler of so many multiverses all at the same time.]

Then, she added:

[That’s likely why it started targeting you first as well. I don’t quite understand its origins aside from the fact that it might be related to some of the people who had come before you. But other than that, I really have no idea.]

Rael nodded and sighed. So what am I supposed to do? Let it eat everything I own? I’m sorry, but I’m not in the mood for that. So of course, I’ll stop it. Can I absorb it or make it my pet?

Making it a pet did seem viable, since if she referred to it as a Universe Destroyer, then it must have some semblance of consciousness or an ego. An intent was all he needed to actually do whatever he needed, and so, Rael quickly combed through this being’s universal body, looking for anything that would give him a hint.

And eventually, he found it. At the core of this black hole, there was a single fragment of power, and from the looks of things, it was also the storage that dealt with all the power it was absorbing.

It was a small jar, ironically. Rael let out a sigh at that, feeling that if he just wanted to get rid of this thing, he could swipe the jar and seal it away. That, or break it. But he felt like breaking it might have some adverse side effects, so he much preferred focusing on just taming this thing or sealing it away.

Hearing his ideas, though, Gaia couldn’t help but sigh in frustration. [This isn’t the type of being you mess around with, Rael. I don’t mean to be harsh, but even someone with your level of power can’t do anything to…]

<Ding!>

<You have established a connection with the Universe Destroyer!>

<You are trying to manipulate a being of universal scale!>

<Are you sure you are willing to proceed?>

<Yes / No>

Heh.

One thought was all it took for Rael to practically get his hands on such a powerful being. It really was a pity how whoever had sent this structured this monster. But oh well, Rael planned on taming it, so he raised a toast to the endeavor and quickly pressed “Yes.”

The moment he did, the whole being halted, and before he knew it, it began spewing out all the mana and planets it had gathered, making a whole mess of the cosmos.

But on the bright side, Rael was now in full control of it.
