Chapter 1030: Professional Bargainer
Chapter 1030: Professional Bargainer
After a few moments, he got a reply.
<Uriel Ark: Bargain what? You can’t bargain with me when your ’everything’ is my minimum. I’m afraid the only use I have for you is entertainment.>
Right.
Rael didn’t believe it one bit, since he knew that a guy like that wasn’t that sadistic, especially after reading the book about him.
I wonder if the book was legit. It probably was. But either way, he underestimates me perhaps a little too much.
After all, Rael’s current level of power wasn’t just a title. It spanned across all of reality.
And as it so happened, the system that Uriel had created fell into that very same category. Therefore, Rael swiftly closed his eyes and began looking straight into what made the system.
Surprisingly enough, this didn’t take long at all. In fact, seeing the code of the system took less than a second, and seeing the many skills and status screens that existed throughout this particular multiverse was kind of heartwarming.
In the very center of it all was a lazy-looking man whose form was indistinguishable from what the books had said about him. This was none other than Uriel. He had gained some weight, and from the looks of things, his power was... well, not that great.
The only thing he had going for himself was the fact that he could hide in that system space. It was a neat trick, but by no means was it safe. And Rael proved it wasn’t safe by directly teleporting inside of it.
The moment he arrived, he was met with Uriel’s slightly puzzled expression. He was a catfish through and through. His face looked rather handsome, unlike the rest of his body.
"Sup," Rael called out, then manifested a chair out of thin air, sitting down on it as he glanced over at Uriel. "So, I take it you didn’t expect me to pay a visit to your little rat cave?"
"Uhh..." Uriel paused for a moment, rubbing his eyes.
Naturally, he didn’t believe something like this was possible. After all, he had pretty much de-atomized his own body, making it so that his consciousness floated through all the systems present in this multiverse.
But for some strange reason, Rael managed to find his core. It was troublesome, since if the core were destroyed, not only would the system vanish, but so would he.
So in the end...
"You said you wanted to bargain? I accept. How do you want to bargain, and with what?"
Rael clicked his tongue. "I did bring up that offer to bargain, but then you called me your bitch, so I politely decline. I honestly thought you were all-powerful and had something like I do going on. But you’re just some weirdo hiding inside the system, stalking everyone."
Before Uriel could reply, Rael added:
"Right, I guess before I do anything drastic, I should make a few changes."
Rael focused on Uriel and located his soul. It was a quick and neat procedure, but what followed was simply Rael going in and disintegrating what little fragments of the system Uriel had inside his body.
Instead, Rael absorbed those fragments as though they were his own, literally taking over control of the system and making himself the new host of the system that every single being had.
Except he wasn’t naive enough to take it all into his body. Instead, he created a small pocket of his consciousness that, while containing a piece of his soul, didn’t associate him with the system fully.
And while he wasn’t expecting this to work, he was indeed something of a genius, since it did.
<Ding!>
<You’ve...>
<Ruler of Reality has triggered a hidden passive...>
<Ding!>
<You’ve gained access to every single System and Power System in all the Realms!>
<You’ve successfully evolved to: Ruler of Everything>
Huh.
Touché.
Rael appreciated the title and all, but was also a little surprised to find that whenever he channeled some of his mana now, he felt a lot more options on how he could control it.
That’s neat. Whenever I’m less lazy, I could create a whole different system or something. Anyways, that’s that. Let’s see...
Uriel Ark was pale, and he clutched his head as every single bit of consciousness he had scattered across the multiverse suddenly came back to him. It was brutal, but not only that, it was proof that whatever he had going for himself was now ruined, all because he didn’t want to negotiate.
Granted, Rael was most likely going to do this even if he had agreed to negotiate. That was because Rael didn’t like ants like this crawling around in such a position of power.
Call it dictatorship in a sense, but he didn’t want Uriel Ark one day popping up and killing his children through the system. So with that in mind, Rael clapped his hands a few times to get his attention and then smiled.
"Well, that’s that, I guess. Uriel Ark, was it? Do you know anything about the history before the Akashic Records came to be, or not really?"
"Will you spare my life if I tell you?" Uriel asked straight up.
Rael shrugged.
Honestly, it was becoming comical.
Uriel Ark was technically considered the second strongest being in all of reality, and yet, to Rael, he was nothing but a plaything. It really was pathetic how every powerful being was reduced to such a state nowadays.
Despite that, Rael didn’t feel bad about it. Less competition meant less trouble. That also meant that his safety was essentially guaranteed.
Therefore, Rael gave Uriel Ark one more smile and asked the same question.
"If you tell me, I’ll at the very least let you off painlessly. It’s a scout’s promise."
He had never been a scout before.
...But it did sound cool to say.
Hehe.
"Sigh..."
Uriel leaned back once more.
"I can give you a rough idea of what happened, but you’d better make sure I don’t feel my death."
