Qu Jingwan got off the elevator. When she passed by a certain room, the manager by her side spoke. “This is the CEO’s presidential suite, and opposite of it is the young master and young missus’ room.”

“Where is Pei Ge’s room?”

“That… We didn’t receive any orders from the CEO.”

“So that means she’s staying with him in the same room?”

“That seems to be the case.”

“Okay. Where is my room?”

“Just right in front.” Xu Weitian pointed at the room ahead.

This was a spacious, European-style room. The few devil’s ivy plants on the balcony were lively and delightful to behold. The beige curtains were patterned with clouds and sunflowers. She recognized the oil painting hanging above the bed. This 20-million-yuan worth painting was won by Ji Ziming in an auction in France. Since this painting was hanging here, it meant that not anyone, even if they were rich, could stay in this room.

“Ma’am, I’ve already brought you to your room, so I’ll take my leave now.” The manager did not enter the room.

“Alright. You may leave.” She took a seat on the bed, bouncing a little as she did. The softness level of it was to her liking.

Suddenly, she recalled her cousin’s words.

‘Where are you at? You are at Ji Ziming’s house, the richest man in the capital!’

Yes, I may be in the Ji family’s house, but the man who can shake the capital with just a stomp of his foot doesn’t even deign to give me a friendly look.

She lay down in bed, suddenly feeling very fatigued. When was the cousin she had long been pining for ever going to think for her sake?

Ding-dong! The sound of the doorbell jolted her out of her thoughts.

“Manager Xu, do you still have…” She was about to reprimand the guy after she opened the door but realized that the person outside the door was a different person. It was a server dressed in a white shirt with a matching black vest.

“Ma’am, this is the item Old Qu wanted us to pass to you. Please receive it.” The server’s head remained lowered while speaking in a mild tone.

“Oh, okay. Thank you.” She paused for a moment before taking the item from the server. Following which, the latter turned around and disappeared into the elevator.

This was a box covered in black mesh. This palm-sized item appeared very mysterious.

“What is this?” She unpacked the box from the black mesh. What greeted her sight was a purple cloth with floral design. It looked exquisite but foreign to her.

Inside the pink indentation of the box lay two small, glass bottles.

Her phone, which was left on the bed, suddenly rang. It was her maternal grandmother.

“Hello, grandma.”

“Have you received it?” The old lady’s low and stern voice came through the phone.

“Yes, I did, but I still don’t know what this is for.”

“One is a cream and the other is liquid.”

“Mhm, yes. What is this?”

“You don’t need to know what it is. You just need to know how to use it.”

“Okay.”

“Listen to me well.”

“Okay. Will do.”

After settling her kids, Pei Ge returned to Ji Ziming’s room to take a shower. Wearing a white robe, her wavy hair reached her waist and her bare face was simply stunning.

She rubbed her thin waist. She had been so busy with Ji Chi recently that she had not had the time to take a proper nap. Luckily, the man was not in the room, so she could take her due sleep.

Alas, ten minutes into her sleep, she was awoken from her slumber by the man’s knocking at the door.

“What is it?” she asked unhappily. Nothing was more important than her sleep.

“I came to get something.”

“Why would your item be with me?”

There were two single rooms in the presidential suite. The rooms had different styles: European and Mediterranean. She was staying in the latter.

“I left it in your bag.”

Her drowsy look and her body’s smell made the man’s Adam’s apple move as his gaze lingered on her slightly exposed cleavage.

“Then, come in to get it yourself.” She opened the door for the man and climbed back in her bed.

The bed was very soft and comfortable. If not for him, she would already be soundly asleep to wake up later, well-rested and spirited.

“Ge Ge.”

“Hm?”

“Are you asleep yet?”

“Mhm.”

She was so drowsy that she did not even notice that Ji Ziming had quietly stopped in front of her. The latter was resting his head against her bedside and was silently watching her go to sleep. Her eyelashes fluttered about just like butterfly wings and her pinkish cheeks accentuated her exquisite features.

“Ge Ge?”

The woman did not respond this time as she had already fallen into dreamland, all the way until evening.

The evening sunset outside the floor-to-ceiling windows was a rare sight. Pei Ge walked out without wearing her indoor slippers and leaned against the railings to admire at the scenery. All her worries had disappeared as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath of the sweetness of the evening breeze.

The door was pushed open. This was the female manager, Zhao Lei.

“Ma’am, this is the evening gown the CEO has chosen for you.” The female manager stood at the door respectfully.

“Alright. Leave it on the table. Where is he?”

“He’s waiting for you at the banquet hall on the seventh floor.”

“Okay. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome, ma’am; I’ll take my leave now.”

“Mhm.”

She turned around to look at the black, high-waist, maxi dress. She felt that she had seen the dress somewhere before. It looked just like the one worn by a female model on the cover of Chanel’s fashion magazine last week.

The woman remembered the man asking her if this dress was nice. She casually answered ‘yes’ then. He had unexpectedly remembered her innocuous comment and prepared it for her.

Honey filled her heart as she changed into the gown and boarded the elevator to the seventh floor.

At the banquet hall on the seventh floor, the lights were glamorous. People attending the gathering were either rich or famous. High-ranking female officials and figures excitedly clamored to get a peek of Ji Ziming’s handsome visage in real life.

When the waiter brought champagne over, she gracefully accepted it and started looking for the man’s shadow in the crowd.

“I’m here.”

A familiar voice suddenly sounded from behind her.

She turned around and spotted the man wearing Giorgio Armani’s pure, handmade suit. Her handsome features seemed to be carved by the gods themselves as his dark and deep eyes met hers. “Beautiful.”

She smiled. “Are you praising this gown or are you complimenting me?”

“You know it yourself.” His lips curled up and he hooked out his right elbow, signaling her to put her arm through it.

“Okay.” She hooked her arm through his with practiced ease and joined the crowd.

Qu Jingwan, in a sexy, low-cut, and backless dress, made her way to the man. She attracted the many gazes of the opposite sex along the way. Her smile was one that people could not overlook, too.

“Ziming, shouldn’t you be escorting me in?” She put up a smile that did not reach her eyes. Her voice was not too loud but was enough for those nearby to hear it.

“Who is this? Isn’t this the Qu family’s eldest daughter? Young Master Ji’s fiancée of the legends.”

“Why have I never heard of it? If Miss Qu is his fiancée, then who is the woman beside him?”

“She looks quite familiar.”

The voices of the crowd around them were at the right volume where Ji Ziming and Pei Ge could hear.

“I think it’s better for you to enter with Miss Qu for everyone’s sake.”:

1

“No, you are my wife.”

“I’m fine. Don’t worry.”

“Pei Ge, I don’t think it’s right for you to do this.”

Qu Jingwan smiled at her. Under the crystal lights in the hall, the sights of the guests gathered on the trio talking.

Pei Ge was the first to release his hand and pushed him forward slightly and right in front of the other. Seeing this, Qu Jingwan quickly grabbed hold of the man’s hand and gave her a fake, cordial smile.

After entering the banquet hall, the sight of the delicacies on the tables made Pei Ge’s mouth water.

“Miss Qu, what the hell do you want to do?” The man was seething in anger.

“What other motive will I have? You’ve been neglecting me for so long. Don’t you know how much my heart hurts? This place hurts so much.” She raised his hand and placed it on her chest, looking oh-so-pitiful as she continued speaking. “How much more inferior am I to Pei Ge? I have everything she has. Do you want me to give you a child, too?”

At this point, the man suddenly caught a whiff of something strange from the lady’s body. The fragrance entered his nostrils and started wreaking havoc in his chest.
