She could feel his gentleness and care.
Being cherished in the palms of someone, her entire heart felt like it was soaking in warmth.
Noticing her unusual silence tonight, Lu Hualiang furrowed his brow, glanced at the mirror, and saw that the woman seemed to be lost in thought.
"What are you thinking about?" he couldn’t help but ask.
Xia Weibao put down the hands she was resting her chin on, "Why are you so good to me?"
"Does one need a reason to be good to someone?"
Such an answer clearly didn’t satisfy Xia Weibao.
Being good to someone doesn’t require a reason? Why, out of everyone in the world, is he good to her specifically? Doesn’t that require a reason?
"Of course it does, you can’t just be good to someone for no reason, haven’t you heard the saying about a weasel going to a chicken’s New Year celebration with no good intentions? I suspect you have some plan regarding me."
Lu Hualiang let out a light chuckle, this silly girl really had no sense of guarding against others.
Since she suspected he had ulterior motives, she still asked.
"Yes, I do have an intention towards you."
Xia Weibao instantly exploded, slamming her hands on the table, preparing to stand and confront him.
"Alright then, you really have no good intentions! Tell me, what’s your purpose in approaching me!"
"I like you."
The confession came too suddenly, and Xia Weibao’s action of standing up froze in mid-air, her mind went blank.
Her whole being was in a state of shock.
"What... what did you say?"
Lu Hualiang straightened her body, looking directly into her eyes, leaving her with no escape, "I like you, marry me."

It was unclear whose heartbeat was echoing in the room.
Xia Weibao, flustered and disoriented, slapped his hand away, "Don’t joke around like this."
She quickly turned to escape.
But in her panic, she tripped over something and went falling forward.
"Careful!"
Lu Hualiang reacted quickly, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her back with force.
The force was quite strong, and Xia Weibao ended up crashing into his embrace.
Scared the hell out of her baby!
