Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System

Chapter 541: Good morning, Kas Mountain Range

Firing tiles was already popular in this world, so firing red bricks wasn’t difficult at all. Once they knew the material ratios, it was a piece of cake for the Feder Craftsmen.

While the houses were being built, Levi hadn’t been idle either. He had Sam and the few Northern Old People Clan Leaders who had previously surrendered to High Cliff Castle enter the Kas Mountain Range to contact the other tribes still hiding there.

Although he was happy to accept Half-Beastmen, he had no desire to become a king of Alien Races and re-establish the Beastman Empire. Therefore, the main populace he accepted would still be humans.

And the group of hiding Old People inside the Kas Mountain Range was his target.

According to Sam and the others, at least a hundred thousand people were hiding inside.

He had left them alone before mainly because High Cliff Castle lacked the capacity to accept so many people. Now that he had money, grain, and housing, he was naturally prepared to let them all escape their sea of suffering in the darkness and live under the sun.

After all, he was the benevolent Lord of the Wilderness, unwilling to let these poor, helpless subjects languish in the world.

In the flower garden of the Lord of High Cliff Castle, Heather was jogging slowly with a limp. Perhaps the recent world-shaking battle had made her realize the importance of physical fitness, as the Zor Elf Priestess had been exercising frequently lately.

The Lord appeared behind her like a ghost and, without warning, suddenly let out a loud “AH!”, startling the Zor Elf so much that the two large white rabbits on her chest trembled. She nearly threw an instant Fireball Technique at the Lord’s head.

When she realized who it was, her face filled with resentment, looking just like a scorned woman.

“I’m planning a trip to the Kas Mountain Range. Do you want to come?” The Lord casually wrapped his arm around her slender, graspable waist, helping her into the house.

If the Lord had previously treated this Zor Elf as a mere subordinate, his affection for her had naturally grown immensely since that night.

It wasn’t because she had become his woman, but because the Lord discovered she was still a virgin!

Honestly, he had been stunned at the time. After all, given the world’s preconceived notions about Zor Elves, they were all considered absolute harlots. An adult Zor Elf who was still a virgin was no less rare than finding a Saintess, pure enough to have never even touched a man’s hand, within a group of prostitutes.

Rarer than Mithril!

However, after learning about her deeds in the Dark Nether Realm, the Lord’s impression of her changed completely. He began to truly see this Zor Elf as his woman, not just a Maid for his bed.

To put it simply, every Race has its variants that differ from the masses. For example, Leiden, the Giant Goblin of exceptional Wisdom; variant Giant Dragons that dislike treasure; or even the twelve Saints among humans.

Their personalities all ran contrary to the mainstream traits of their kin, and their behaviors were completely different.

And Heather was one such variant among the Zor Elves. She had no interest in keeping male favorites, spending her entire life researching Magic in the hope of returning to a life on the surface, under the sun.

Coincidentally, the Zor Elves were a matriarchal society. If she didn’t want to, those low-status male Zor Elves had no ability to force her.

And so, she remained untouched until the day the Lord snatched her up.

“I’d love to go, but do you think I can in this state?” Sidetracked, Heather’s face was filled with helplessness.

The Lord gave a sly laugh. “It’s perfect for exercise, isn’t it? Besides, you’re blessed and don’t even know it.”

“Then I suppose I should thank you, my dear Darling~” Heather rolled her eyes and spoke in a charmingly coy voice, her allure suddenly blossoming, enchanting and seductive.

“The corrupting influence of lust is like a flood or a wild beast, a true menace to the youth of the Kingdom!” the Lord lamented from the heart, slapping her pale thigh.

Heather clutched her thigh with a look of grievance, but then her eyes darted. She wrapped her arms around the Lord’s neck and asked coaxingly, “Darling, what do you plan to do with that Magic Master’s Soul Crystal?”

She had gone to Gonda with Levi, so she naturally knew that among the duel’s stakes—besides the Mermaid who secretly wept every night and the Sai Dai Golden Man—there was also a Soul Crystal that contained the lifelong learning of a Magic Master.

To a group of melee brutes, such a thing was no different from a useless rock and couldn’t improve their strength in any way.

But for a Caster, it was absolutely one of the most coveted treasures in the world.

She had been stuck as a Middle Tier Mage for a long time. Though Zor Elves had long lifespans and becoming a High Tier Mage was only a matter of time, she wouldn’t ignore a shortcut now that one was available.

“You already know the answer,” Levi said with a smile in his eyes, taking a purple, circular crystal the size of a goose egg from his inventory.

High Cliff Castle only had a handful of Casters. Sam’s Cultivation was too low, so giving it to him would be a waste. Orak was a brutish Shaman who only used magic to buff himself. And as for the other three Zor Priestesses, it went without saying. From the very beginning, this item was destined for Heather and Heather alone.

He had held back from giving it to her until now only to make her wait a little. After all, it’s the nature of intelligent beings not to cherish things that are obtained too easily.

Heather accepted it into her hands with a look of joyful surprise. She then fiercely planted a lipstick mark on the Lord’s face, gently caressed Levi’s cheek with her long fingernails, and said emotionally, “Darling, no matter what we face in the future, no matter how difficult it gets, you won’t abandon me, right?”

The Zor Elf didn’t promise not to abandon him; instead, she asked the question in reverse. That proved everything.

“Only if I’m dead,” Levi said with a smile, but his words carried an unyielding, resolute force.

…

Squadrons of Griffin Knights and Beastman Warriors began to assemble and prepare their equipment, setting off towards the Kas Mountain Range.

Recruiting the so-called Old People from the Kas Mountain Range was not as simple as it seemed. After all, not everyone yearned for High Cliff Castle. There would always be those who resisted under the banner of being unable to leave their homeland or fearing exploitation upon joining.

These people were often the rulers. By joining High Cliff Castle, their status would inevitably fall from being above thousands to being nearly the same as the common Old People, something these rulers could not tolerate.

However, the Lord wasn’t recruiting these Old People out of the kindness of his heart. If a war was necessary, he didn’t mind letting those fellows learn a thing or two about the mettle of High Cliff Castle’s forces.

This was something High Cliff Castle had to do to truly become the King of the Wilderness. Any praying mantis that tried to block High Cliff Castle’s progress would only end up crushed into paste by the rolling wheels.

On the fifth day, the towering silhouette of the Kas Mountain Range finally revealed its true face.

After a journey through wind and snow, the High Cliff Castle contingent prepared to rest and regroup at the Iron Ore Camp.

“A mountain range stretching north to south lies across the vast and boundless plains, like the world’s spine blocking the cold southern winds. It allows the Northern Territory to embrace spring, leaving the cold to be the main theme of the Far North Icefield.” Levi sat atop the broad back of his magnificent Three-headed Dog, reciting words that seemed profound to the surrounding Barbarians, who listened in awe.

“Good day, Lord Levi.” Wrapped in thick bearskin, Jos came to greet them a short distance from the Iron Ore Camp, leading a squad of Feder reserve Warriors who were guarding the mine.

“Jos, long time no see.” The Lord hopped off Biefeng’s back and gave the middle-aged Feder Knight a bear hug.

Jos had watched Tina and Mier grow up since they were children. After their parents died, he was the closest person they had.

He had often looked after them, and for that, Levi respected him.

“When things are quiet, you should go back to High Cliff Castle for a visit. Tina and the others miss you. The iron mine is well-guarded; nothing will happen,” Levi said, clapping him on the shoulder as they walked toward the camp together.

“Alright.” Jos smiled and nodded, even though he had just been there for the wedding.

“By the way, how are those Black People doing here?” Levi asked.
