Chapter 1512 - 1334: Xiao’ai, Dabao, Xiaobei

Chapter 1512: Chapter 1334: Xiao’ai, Dabao, Xiaobei

Nan Feng was still anxious as she leaned in Yege’s arms, “Yege, I’m really scared.”

“Fengfeng, there’s no need to be tense, Axian has always been a good child and kind-hearted. Nothing bad will happen, and if you’re scared, let’s take Axian to see a doctor now.”

“Okay!”

Xia Dabao was equally worried about Axian’s situation, she hadn’t gone anywhere these past two days and just watched over Axian.

She even felt some regret; why had she always been minding other people’s business recently and not paid close attention to Axian, having no idea what evil had befallen him.

“Big sister, why are you always following me?” Axian asked. “Why have you and dad and mom been looking at me so strangely these days? Am I sick?”

“Not at all, big sister just has nothing to do and wants to play with Axian,” Xia Dabao said.

“Big sister, you didn’t really like to play with me before,” Axian said again, looking up with big eyes.

Xia Dabao looked at Axian’s thick eyebrows and big eyes and smiled, “You were too young before, we couldn’t play together, but now we can. What do you want to play?”

Axian thought for a moment, “Play… skipping stones. You’re the best at skipping stones, aren’t you? Axian wants to learn too.”

“Okay, but first you have to go pick up some stones, otherwise where will we get the stones to skip?” Xia Dabao said with a smile.

Axian went outside to pick stones, and Xia Dabao hurriedly followed.

But she always felt that Axian’s walk was sluggish as if he had no energy at all. He picked stones for a short time and then sat down on the ground, gasping for breath with cold sweat on his forehead: “Big sister, I’m too tired, I need to go back and sleep for a while.”

“You’re tired already?” Xia Dabao asked.

Axian walked weakly towards Xia Dabao, and just as he reached her, he suddenly collapsed into Xia Dabao’s arms. Before she had the chance to ask, Axian had fallen asleep.

Had he really fallen asleep, or had he fainted?

She quickly called his name a few times, and Axian lifted his eyelids, “Big sister, don’t disturb me, I’m sleepy.”

Xia Dabao breathed a sigh of relief, him responding meant that he hadn’t fainted but simply fallen asleep.

She quickly carried Axian back into the house.

It felt as though Axian had grown lighter, which shouldn’t be the case for a boy a little over six years old.

Fortunately, soon after they got inside, Yege and Nan Feng had returned.

The first thing Nan Feng did when she got back was to ask Xia Dabao, “How is Axian doing now?”

Xia Dabao recounted what had happened with Axian. Nan Feng, feeling concerned, went into the room to call for him. Axian also responded by lifting his eyelids, saying he was too tired and wanted to sleep.

It seemed that they wouldn’t make it to the county town that day and would have to go the next day.

But this sleep lasted until nightfall, and when night came, Axian rose from his bed, still looking limp, and said he was hungry. Nan Feng quickly served him food, but after eating just two bites, he said he was full and then went back to his room to sleep.

Nan Feng spent the night without changing her clothes, staying with Axian as he seemed truly tired, sleeping until the next morning without waking up once.

The following day.

The family set off for the county town very early.

Yege led the way with the cart, and Nan Feng and her son and daughter sat in the back. Axian had only had some porridge that morning, and now seated in the swaying flatbed cart, he had once again fallen asleep.

“Mom, what’s really wrong with Axian? Why does he keep sleeping?” Xia Dabao asked, her own heart in a flutter, afraid that Axian had some incurable disease.
