Chapter 545 - 242: Inviting Me to Tingtiao Pavilion?
Chapter 545: Chapter 242: Inviting Me to Tingtiao Pavilion?
Seeing the pained and bewildered look on Suhe Chen’s face, Fang Shuwen almost felt a pang of pity.
He offered some words of comfort.
"It’s fine, it’s fine. Not a big deal."
Inwardly, he nodded in approval. ’Zuo Xuan and the others did a good job. They even dared to take Tingtiao Pavilion’s ship. True talent!’
Suhe Chen: "?"
’So it’s easy for you to say since it’s not your ship, huh?’
But he wouldn’t dare say that aloud, not even if his life depended on it, because Fang Shuwen had started killing again...
The ones who ran the fastest had already reached the shore.
Just like Suhe Chen, they found no ship waiting by the coast.
Some stood frozen in place, not because they couldn’t swim, but because... this was the vast, endless ocean.
Even if they were skilled swimmers, how far could they possibly get?
The sea wasn’t as calm as it appeared. Beneath the surface, it was teeming with life.
Once their Inner Strength was depleted, if they ran into a shark or something... they’d be better off dying on the island. At least it would be a quicker death.
Of course, some had already gone mad and couldn’t think that far ahead. Seeing no path and no ship, they dove straight into the water and swam for their lives.
This was the group Fang Shuwen was killing now.
He felt he’d miscalculated. Some people unleashed their potential in a life-or-death struggle, while others grew completely reckless, daring to do anything. To think someone would actually be delusional enough to try and swim to safety...
The chances of dying while trying to swim to safety were astronomical, but what if one of them got lucky? What if they didn’t die and were even rescued?
Fang Shuwen unleashed his Four Seas Shocking Emperor Finger, devastating the surface like he was blast fishing. He followed up with Breaking Sea and Overturning Clouds from his Sea-Shaking Divine Fist, killing a great many more. The people in the water were almost dealt with.
This only served to heighten the terror of those still alive.
Some turned to flee, while others dove deep beneath the waves, hoping the water would hide them completely.
Just then, disciples from Tingtiao Pavilion emerged from the forest in pursuit.
They saw their Young Pavilion Master standing on a large stone, his face a mask of anguish. They rushed over to see what was wrong.
An idea struck Fang Shuwen, and he immediately called out.
"You, friend from Tingtiao Pavilion."
Suhe Chen snapped his head up. Though the loss of his ship was a blow, he remembered his second sister was still on board. With her there, the ship probably wouldn’t run into any real trouble.
Besides, Fang Shuwen was far more important than any ship.
So, upon hearing Fang Shuwen’s call, he immediately looked up.
"Senior, what are your orders?"
"Have your men intercept them. Don’t let them escape..."
He was indeed short-handed, but Tingtiao Pavilion had plenty of manpower.
’Suhe Chen wouldn’t dare refuse to cooperate.’
And just as he expected, Suhe Chen immediately nodded and ordered his disciples to stop the people of Black Island from leaving.
With their help, things became much simpler.
Fang Shuwen had started his slaughter from the center of the island. Countless men had thrown themselves at him, wave after wave, only to die. They finally realized that numbers were meaningless against him.
Watching as expert after expert fell at his hands, their hearts grew cold with despair and their courage shattered.
But strictly speaking, Fang Shuwen had killed more people than had managed to flee.
Now, with some help from the Tingtiao Pavilion disciples and after a bit of effort, the entirety of Black Island was finally purged.
With the death of the last Black Guard, there was no one left from Black Island as far as the eye could see.
The only ones around were people from Tingtiao Pavilion.
Fang Shuwen glanced around.
"You certainly brought quite the entourage."
Suhe Chen quickly replied.
"You jest, Senior... It’s just that, while you were displaying your divine might on the island, I was wondering if you happened to see any of my Tingtiao Pavilion disciples?"
Fang Shuwen shook his head. Just as he was about to speak, an old Daoist’s voice drifted over from the distance.
"Infinite Life and Blessings!
"The Tingtiao Pavilion disciples you’re looking for were taken away by Jin Yuheng this morning."
Everyone turned toward the voice to see a scruffy, disheveled old Daoist in tattered robes leading a group of people who looked no better than him.
Fang Shuwen blinked in surprise.
"Did you... go sweep a chimney or something?
"How did you get so filthy?"
Daoist Wuyi had always been unkempt, but never to the point of being covered head to toe in black soot.
Hearing Fang Shuwen’s remark, Daoist Wuyi wanted nothing more than to jump up and down and curse a blue streak.
But when he considered the consequences, he figured it would lead to more than just an unstable Daoist heart.
’Fang Shuwen might just rip out my Daoist heart to have a look.’ With that thought, he abandoned the idea.
He could only take a deep breath and say:
"It was nothing. Just a fire.
"This Daoist Master went through a lot of trouble to bring these people back in one piece.
"I heard from them that there were, in fact, some Tingtiao Pavilion disciples who were captured after sneaking onto Black Island...
"It was Black Island’s Ninth Master, ’Young Master Blood Sword’ Jin Yuheng, who caught them."
"’Young Master Blood Sword,’ Jin Yuheng?"
Suhe Chen sneered.
"The nerve of him! He dares to lay a hand on the disciples of my Tingtiao Pavilion!?"
"Save that temper for Jin Yuheng, not for us."
Daoist Wuyi shot him an irritated glance.
Suhe Chen quickly cupped his fists.
"Please, Senior, tell me, where is Jin Yuheng now? Is he dead or alive?"
"Dead."
Daoist Wuyi said.
"Jin Yuheng took them to find us. We ran into him out on the open sea.
"As for the result... I don’t think I need to spell it out, do I?"
As he spoke, he glanced at Fang Shuwen.
