Chapter 392 - 191: Divine Sword 7 Absolutes
Chapter 392: Chapter 191: Divine Sword 7 Absolutes
Ever since Fang Shuwen set foot in the Northern Domain, he had made a name for himself by protecting Long Qingzhi.
News of his deeds had long since spread throughout the entire Northern Domain.
In particular, his reason for coming to the Northern Domain was no secret. Everyone knew his sole purpose was the Sword God Palace.
The Sword God Palace was naturally aware of this as well.
On Celestial Martial Peak, Sword Master Geng had led over a hundred Divine Swordsmen and even set up the Star River Sword Array in an attempt to keep Fang Shuwen on Celestial Martial Peak.
But they failed.
Sword Master Geng hadn’t even managed to draw his sword before Fang Shuwen beat him to death.
After this incident, Ye Wufeng ceased all actions against Fang Shuwen.
He simply sat quietly within the Sword God Palace, awaiting Fang Shuwen’s arrival.
The skirmish at the foot of the mountain had been nothing more than a small ’greeting’.
The moment Fang Shuwen and Sun Buping set foot on Celestial Jade Mountain, the Sect Leader of the Cyan Sheep Sect couldn’t help but tremble, even though he knew exactly what to expect.
As far as the eye could see, there were figures clad in white.
Perhaps fearing Fang Shuwen wouldn’t give them a chance to draw, these people already had their longswords in hand.
Their gazes, sharp as swords, fell upon Fang Shuwen and Sun Buping.
A chill ran down Sun Buping’s spine.
Fang Shuwen, however, remained perfectly calm. He gently patted Fang Dabao’s head and continued on his way up the mountain.
With a whoosh of displaced air, two figures appeared before them.
One was a handsome, middle-aged man of about forty, dressed in white. He held a silver longsword, its tip angled toward the ground.
The other was a beautiful woman, bearing few traces of her age. Her fine features were so captivating they could make one forget the mundane world. In her hand, she held a dark green longsword.
The pair descended in a flash, landing before Fang Shuwen.
They reversed the grip on their swords but dared not sheathe them. The man was the first to speak, cupping his fist.
"Zhang Feiyang of the Sword God Palace."
The woman added with a light smile:
"Chen Mengzhu."
Then, in unison:
"Greetings, Demon Evil God."
Fang Shuwen glanced up at the pair and smiled faintly.
"Get out of the way."
Zhang Feiyang’s heart tightened.
Chen Mengzhu, however, simply smiled.
"Hero Fang, there’s no need to be so..."
Before she could finish, her expression changed dramatically. With a flick of her wrist, she thrust out her dark green longsword.
VMMMM!
The Sword Qi and Palm Wind collided. The resulting overflow of Palm Power and Sword Qi seemed powerful enough to shred the swirling snow from the sky.
Chen Mengzhu felt a tremendous force travel up the blade. The longsword vibrated so violently she could barely hold on. Gritting her teeth, she tightened her grip, but the force was too much. The web of her hand split open, and blood streamed from the wound, staining the hilt red.
But that wasn’t all.
The force seemed endless. Though she managed to steady the blade through sheer will, she could not withstand the terrifying, inexhaustible torrent of Inner Strength.
BANG!
Chen Mengzhu was sent flying backward. She wasn’t dead, but she was seriously injured.
She landed on one knee, using her sword to prop herself up. When she looked up at Fang Shuwen again, her face was contorted in a ferocious snarl, her former beauty gone.
"You... How dare you!"
Fang Shuwen ignored her. He pulled back his hand just as a longsword swept past his face.
It was Zhang Feiyang’s.
Fang Shuwen had struck too suddenly, and Chen Mengzhu had been defeated too quickly.
Everything had happened in a flash. By the time Zhang Feiyang reacted and rushed to help, Chen Mengzhu had already been sent flying.
Just then, Fang Shuwen, who had just pulled his hand back, suddenly shot his palm out, aiming straight for the edge of Zhang Feiyang’s blade.
Instead of being alarmed, Zhang Feiyang was delighted.
His sword was the Sun-Cutting Sword. While it hadn’t been forged by Wind-Fire Lan Shan, it was still a Famous Sword of old, and it was incredibly sharp.
’Has Fang Shuwen lost his mind?’ Zhang Feiyang wondered. ’Who in their right mind would try to catch a sword blade with their bare hands?’
If Fang Shuwen actually caught the blade, he was certain the man wouldn’t have a single finger left. The sword might even sever half his palm.
As the thought flashed through his mind, Fang Shuwen’s hand closed around the blade.
’I did it!’
At that moment, Zhang Feiyang was on cloud nine, an indescribable feeling of euphoria washing over him.
Until now, no one in the entire Northern Domain Martial World had managed to so much as scratch Fang Shuwen.
’Today, I’ve accomplished what no one else in the entire Jianghu could!’
But in the midst of his triumph, a faint cracking sound reached his ears, mingled with what sounded like the mournful cry of a sword blade.
Zhang Feiyang’s pupils contracted violently. ’In the collision between hand and steel, it wasn’t Fang Shuwen’s hand that had shattered... it was my sword!’
’How is this possible!?’
Horror seized him. Without a second thought, Zhang Feiyang channeled his power into the blade, and in an instant, Sword Qi flooded the length of the longsword.
But the Sun-Cutting Sword, which had always been invincible, was now like a captured silver dragon. No matter how it struggled, it could not break free from Fang Shuwen’s five-fingered grip.
The cracking sound grew louder, and the mournful cry of the blade grew higher.
Zhang Feiyang had no time to think. He lashed out at Fang Shuwen with his free hand.
But before his strike could land, his wrist was caught in an iron grip.
CRACK!!
As the Sun-Cutting Sword shattered, another series of cracking sounds rang out.
This time, it was the bones in Zhang Feiyang’s arm.
Zhang Feiyang lived up to his name as one of the three great Sword Masters of the Sword God Palace. Ignoring the pain in his shattered arm, he gripped the broken half of his sword and viciously stabbed at Fang Shuwen’s neck.
But, unsurprisingly, Fang Shuwen blocked the attack. He bent Zhang Feiyang’s arm inward, and the blade that had been aimed at his own neck ended up plunged into Zhang Feiyang’s throat.
