The spear gave Long Chen no chance to dodge. It directly pierced through his chest. Other than Zi Yan and Miao Yin, everyone cried out in shock and horror; they thought that Long Chen had been killed.
Just then, Long Chen’s calm voice rang out. “You refused to reveal your true power, and all this time, you’ve been setting up a spatial formation. You really are scheming something. And if my guess is correct, this scheme isn’t just targeting me, but everyone here, right? Were you planning on using this thing to kill everyone?”
At some point, Long Chen had appeared on top of the formation. He pointed at the twisting space below him.
There was some kind of monster within the twisting space. Its body was ablaze with black flames, much too powerful for anyone here to be able to see what the monster actually looked like. But they saw three scarlet eyes within the black flames that looked like three blood moons of an apocalyptic world. These three eyes were locked onto the world outside the formation.
Both friend and foe felt a chill run down their spines when they saw those eyes. They could see its thirst for flesh. It appeared that the classification of “friend” and “foe” only mattered to them; so far as the monster was concerned, everyone on the battlefield was simply prey.
Ying Luo’s killing intent was blazing. He had summoned his black mist domain and gone to tremendous lengths just to conceal the activation of this spatial gate. However, just as it was about to be complete, Long Chen discovered it. He almost went crazy.
The hundred shields that Long Chen had summoned were not to stop the spear; they were to exhaust the power of Ying Luo’s attack so that he could escape from its lock. The moment that happened, Long Chen appeared in front of the spatial formation. What Ying Luo struck was merely an afterimage. Of all the experts present, only Zi Yan and Miao Yin had seen that clearly.
“You old fogey, you have a spiritual contract with an outsider devil? Hehehe, you really have guts. If news spreads, your Immortal Ascension Gate will instantly be flattened!”
Long Chen looked down at the devil creature inside the spatial gate and chuckled sinisterly. He also didn’t recognize this being, but based on its aura and spiritual fluctuations, it was definitely an outsider devil. Furthermore, it obviously had a spiritual contract with Ying Luo.
The devil creature’s aura was definitely stronger than Ying Luo’s. In theory, he should have immediately unleashed it to shock everyone and stop the fighting.

In order to not make Li Yifu wary of him, he had no choice but to suppress his own advancement and wait for an opportunity.

When he found out about this plan, Ying Luo immediately made some plans of his own. He would turn this battlefield into a sacrificial altar, and he would offer up everyone’s flesh and souls to this creature. As for the karmic luck dragon manifestation, he would split it with this creature. He was in no position to go against Li Yifu’s orders. His soul strand was still captive, and Li Yifu would be immediately able to tell if he didn’t go where he was supposed to. Thus, he had no choice but to abandon his plans. He did not expect Tu Jie to suddenly send word that Long Chen was the killer.
Naturally, upon receiving the news, Li Yifu immediately ordered him to capture Long Chen alive. Ying Luo was overjoyed, and immediately rushed over at full speed. However, when he arrived, he immediately sensed how powerful Long Chen, Zi Yan, and Miao Yin were. Although he was confident in sweeping over the battlefield, he was worried about the three of them escaping. Thus, he set up this domain and secretly started installing the spatial formation.
He was going to join forces with this creature to lock down the entire battlefield. The devil creature had its own terrifying divine abilities, among which a domain many times stronger than his own. But he couldn’t expose the creature’s existence to the rest of the world. Thus, if he was to make a move, he had to make sure that there were no survivors.

“Fuck off!” Ying Luo roared and charged at Long Chen like a bolt of black lightning, swinging his spear.
Long Chen did not wait to be struck; he instantly leaped up into the sky. From there, he looked down at Ying Luo with a contemptuous grin. The latter had intentionally not used any kind of spiritual lock, precisely because he wanted Long Chen to escape. He didn’t want to give Long Chen any chance to break the formation.
As a result, Long Chen really had escaped, perfectly according to plan. But seeing that grin made Ying Luo have a bad feeling. He looked down, and the sight made his eyes widen in shock.
As it turned out, Long Chen had somehow left two footprints on the spatial formation. Heaven-Earth runes flowed across those footprints, and then... they exploded.
BOOOM!
“You bastard!” roared Ying Luo.
The power behind the explosion wasn’t that great, but it was enough to throw the formation into disarray. A wild torrent of spatial energy erupted, sending Ying Luo flying.
