Huang Lihan would not have developed Family Huang’s Real Estate business to such a large scale, all by himself, if he had been so gullible. He didn’t believe a single word of what Shangguan Ning had just said.

Besides, he knew his wife and daughter too well. They couldn’t tolerate anything good given to his niece. His wife had made a huge scene when he gave Shangguan Ning this apartment earlier, also.

He took a deep breath and said guiltily, “Ning, I am sorry to have let you suffer. I am a real estate agent and my niece ends up buying an apartment somewhere else. Your mother would definitely be sad if she saw all of this.”

Shangguan Ning didn’t dare to tell her Uncle about buying this apartment because she didn’t want him to think in this way. So she waved her hand quickly upon hearing these words and said, “Uncle, don’t overthink. You have been the nicest to me at all times and given me the best of everything. I got whatever Cousin got. My mother would be very happy having an elder brother like you who is taking care of her daughter. She would not be sad at all!”

“Silly girl. You are getting more and more understanding. I am so happy as an Uncle.” Huang Lihan suppressed the bitterness in his heart and said with relief in his voice.

“You can continue to live at Landscape Compound, don’t worry. The apartment is yours the moment it was given to you. As for the apartment you just bought, I won’t pay it on your behalf but you can get one more share at Family Huang’s Real Estate.”

Shangguan Ning was surprised. “That’s not right, Uncle! I object!”

Huang Lihan gave her shoulder a soft pat. “That’s it. No more excuses. That’s the deal. That is all Uncle can give to you.”

Shangguan Ning was about to say something when she was interrupted by the sound of knocking at the door.

Then a tall, strong middle aged man walked in.

He was walking firmly, and his salt and pepper hair was well kept. Dressed in a navy suit, he looked elegant and graceful. His eyes were shining with vitality, and the dignity and nobility that surrounded him made people want to keep looking at him.

He was still handsome even if he was a middle aged man. It could be seen clearly that he must have been an extremely good looking man when he was younger.

Shangguan Ning found this man familiar, but she couldn’t remember where had she met him.

That man laughed seeing Shangguan Ning staring at him. “Girl, you are awake? Are you feeling better?”

Shangguan Ning was even more confused hearing him speak in such a familiar way.

Huang Lihan couldn’t help but laugh upon seeing her bewildered expression. “Ning, this is your Uncle Jing. He gave you a basket of fish and you still found him annoying!”

Gave her fish? Uncle Jing?

Seeing his niece confused, Huang Lihan patted her hands as he laughed. “Silly girl. Greet him. You are going to work at his enterprise next week onwards. Take this chance and flatter him!”

Shangguan Ning recovered quickly, raised herself up and shouted with kindness in a sweet voice. ” Hello, Uncle Jing! My name is Shangguan Ning, please take care of me when I work at your company next week.”

For some reason, she found Jing Zhongxiu’s looks quite familiar, not because of the impression she got when she was little – the impression had been too blurry to remember.

Plus, Uncle apparently had a good relationship with him, so she tried talking in a casual tone to help them connect.

Jing Zhongxiu laughed. “So much like your uncle! When others are so courteous to me, you didn’t regard me as an outsider just like when you were little!”

Shangguan Ning smiled shyly. She must have not behaved well back then. She didn’t remember what happened in her childhood, only some things rang a bell. She would never have remembered anything if Uncle hadn’t reminded her.

“Don’t worry, Girl. With me around, no one would dare to bully you at Jingsheng. Tramp on anyone you like. Mention me if you run into trouble, then everything will be fine!!”

Shangguan Ning couldn’t help but grin noticing his sense of humour.

Jing Zhongxiu was completely different from how she had imagined!

She had thought that he was a big leader who would have an expressionless face and act seriously. Unexpectedly, he was an affable man. It seemed to her that she would enjoy her time in Jingsheng .

Actually, Jing Zhongxiu was a leader who always looked and acted seriously. He was relaxed now, only because he was in front of his old friend and a young girl.

Shangguan Ning’s wound had healed, and the situation didn’t seem so bad. So Huang Lihan helped her to complete the procedure and left the hospital. He accompanied her to the doorstep before leaving with Jing Zhongxiu.

“Huang, your girl… is single, is she?”

Huang Lihan got interested at these words. “Oh yeah? Anyone in mind?”

“What about my son?”

“My girl is only 26. No hurry! Just wait a bit!” Huang Lihan wasn’t hustled. He always protected Shangguan Ning as a treasure, and he definitely didn’t want to send her to the Jing family and torment her.

He had met Jing Yichen. He was not silent. He was cold and ruthless!

Jing Yichen nodded lightly. All was clear now.

He had met Huang Lihan before. He was one of the few close friends his father had. What he didn’t expect was that he would turn out to be Shangguan Ning’s uncle.

In that case, he was certain that Shangguan Ning wasn’t his father’s spy, but someone his father temporarily employed at Jingsheng, on Huang Lihan’s entrustment.

Even if father hadn’t employed Shangguan Ning into his company, Jing Yichen himself had also decided to employ her. But the effect would not have been as good.

His heart was always insecure without her by his side.

After so many years, his father had finally done one thing right.
