Chapter 74: Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
"Senior~!" The moment his little junior saw Zhang Yan, she sprinted over, throwing herself into his arms like a swallow returning to its nest.
She had definitely committed a "charging foul" with her curves this time—that was way too out of line. Zhang Yan would have to properly "punish" her for it later.
"Baby, did you miss me these past few days?"
"I thought about you during the day, at night, and even in my dreams."
"Only in your heart?" Zhang Yan took her soft hand in his. "Did this miss me?"
"Yes."
"What about here? Did it miss me too?"
A rosy blush crept onto her cheeks. "It missed you too~"
"And what about here? Did it miss me?"
"Mmm..."
Judging by how enthusiastically she responded, she had clearly missed him terribly. Only after a long, long while did they finally ease the ache of their longing.
"You must be hungry. Let’s go eat first."
He had originally planned to take his little junior back to the barbecue restaurant where they first met for a good meal, but upon hearing that his "father-in-law" hadn’t eaten either, they decided to have a family meal together instead. He booked a table at the lobby restaurant of the hotel they were staying at.
"Uncle, are you going to Beijing with them this time?" Zhang Yan asked.
"Yeah. I was worried Yuyu wouldn’t be able to handle it all by herself. Even though there are professional caretakers, outsiders are never as reliable as family!"
On the way over, his little junior had already updated him on the family’s arrangements. Her uncle’s family were all working-class people, but they had simply quit their jobs to focus entirely on helping look after his younger brother’s family. Her aunt stayed back in their hometown to keep an eye on the storefront. It wasn’t really managing it, just dropping by occasionally to make sure no one messed up the renovations. Her uncle, meanwhile, planned to accompany his brother to Beijing for his medical treatment and help look after his niece while they were there.
For all these years, this older brother and his family had been the ones taking care of Father Chi. Therefore, they were now receiving a salary from him. Naturally, Father Chi wouldn’t mistreat them.
Zhang Yan had been worried that his junior would be lonely all by herself in Beijing. Now that she had an elder accompanying her, he felt much more at ease. This also meant he wouldn’t need to visit as frequently.
At the dining table, the three members of the Chi Family naturally centered all their attention on Zhang Yan, showering him with warm and affectionate words.
"Your train leaves at 3:43 PM, right? We still have some time. I’ll take Yuyu out for a walk to let our food digest."
"Alright. Don’t worry, I’ll keep a good eye on Chenghu," her uncle replied.
Father Chi instinctively wanted to say something, but thinking of everything Zhang Yan had done for them, he silently closed his mouth. It was clear he had tacitly accepted marrying his daughter off to him.
Taking his little junior for a stroll, Zhang Yan’s intentions were, of course, far from innocent. They walked for a bit and naturally ended up at a small motel.
"It’s a bit hot out here. Let’s go inside and enjoy the AC."
Seeing the place, she knew exactly what Zhang Yan was plotting. Still, she just nodded, her cheeks flushing crimson.
The motel was somewhat old and dilapidated. Not too far from the grand hotel, it looked like a place for out-of-towners to rest their feet or a temporary haven for college students to elevate their romance.
After paying and entering the room, they found a tiny space with only a single bed. Fortunately, it came with a small en-suite bathroom that barely fit one person for a shower.
"Their AC seems to be broken. Why is my body still so hot?"
"What should we do?"
Locked in a tight embrace, the two seemed entirely oblivious to the fact that they were each other’s biggest heat source.
"Let’s go take a cold shower."
"Mhm," his little junior hummed in a voice as soft as a mosquito’s, glancing at the cramped little bathroom.
SPLASH!
Although the shower stall was tiny, they could still fit inside if they squeezed together. They couldn’t make any large movements, but there was still room to maneuver.
...
...
Meanwhile, the motel owner sat by the door with nothing to do. He waited for half the day but hadn’t heard the expected noises.
"This couple sure has a lot of foreplay. It’s been over thirty minutes... They couldn’t seriously be here just to rest their feet, could they?" he muttered.
Just then, a middle-aged man of about the same age walked through the door. "Old Zhang, watching the shop?"
"Yep."
"How’s business lately?"
"Not so great. A lot of the students have gone back to their hometowns."
For a small motel like this, business would be booming during the semester. Especially on weekends, it was almost guaranteed to be fully booked.
As the two were shooting the breeze, a rhythmic CREAK CREAK sound suddenly echoed from the ceiling above them.
"Oho, you’ve got guests today?"
"Yeah, a young couple just went up. Looked like students. That boy had a bit of my flair from back in the day, and the girl was a real looker."
"How long do you think they’ll last? I’m guessing ten minutes. Betting a cigarette."
"The kid looked like he had a solid build. I’ll say fifteen minutes."
As a motel owner of many years, Old Zhang had plenty of experience in this regard. Even for male college students in their absolute prime, their lack of technique usually meant it was a ten-minute affair. Of course, that timeframe started from the first CREAK. Anyone who could hit the fifteen-minute mark was considered a physically robust veteran. Anyone exceeding twenty minutes was as rare as a unicorn. After all, college students still cared somewhat about their health, or perhaps they were just uninformed. Few of them used performance-enhancing supplements, which was a major factor limiting their duration.
Ten minutes later.
The motel owner, Old Zhang, checked his watch. "Old Li, you lost."
"The kid’s got good stamina. He’s switching up the rhythm, and his technique sounds solid. Seems like he’s had plenty of practice. But don’t get too smug—I don’t think you’re gonna win either."
Five minutes later.
"Well damn, this kid’s stamina really is something!"
Another fifteen minutes later.
Faint traces of envy and admiration surfaced on the faces of the two older men. "Kids these days are incredible."
"The youth nowadays eat well, sleep well, and don’t have much stress. Nothing like us back in the day..."
"It stopped. It finally stopped!"
Although they harbored due respect for the strong, a hint of jealousy was inevitable. Hearing the silence, both men let out faint sighs of relief.
"Not bad, but nothing too exaggerated."
However, only five or six minutes later, the rhythmic CREAK CREAK sounded once again.
"So the girl finished first earlier! This kid is seriously impressive!"
Another thirty minutes passed. The creaking paused briefly a few times along the way, but it always resumed shortly after. The two old men absentmindedly lit cigarettes for each other. Puffing clouds of smoke, their expressions grew somewhat wistful.
Another half hour went by, and the two men’s expressions had turned utterly numb.
"Old Zhang, do you think they’re just up there watching TV? Maybe they have ADHD and are just rocking the bed for fun?"
"Old Li, stop lying to yourself. I’ve listened to bed frames for years—there’s no mistaking it. He hasn’t finished even once yet."
"These youngsters don’t know how to cherish their bodies. He must have taken some strong medicine."
"Hard to say. Hey, this rhythm? Looks like it’s about to end."
A full thirty minutes later, nearing 3:00 PM, Zhang Yan finally left, his arm wrapped around his little junior, who was nestled snugly against his chest.
The motel owner scrutinized Zhang Yan’s complexion. There were absolutely no signs of side effects from taking pills. His face was positively glowing with vitality, and he walked with a vigorous, tiger-like stride. The half-smoked cigarette dangling from his lips unconsciously slipped and fell to the ground.
This boy’s stamina was absolutely terrifying!
