Chapter 733: Chapter 721: Delivery to the Doorstep (2)
Can’t we just rebel?
Her, against the Demon King?
Eleanor thought that if she wanted to die, it shouldn’t be done like this.
It seemed she could only escape, but where could she go?
Thanks to her years of bloody business dealings, she had a bad reputation even within the Empire. Humans, Dwarves, and Elves would love to devour her alive.
For a moment, Eleanor felt she was in a desperate situation.
The only possibility seemed to be that when the Demon King arrived, she would kneel on the ground, cry her heart out, and plead for mercy?
Thinking of her predicament, Eleanor could no longer suppress her emotions and went on a rampage in the manor, hysterically destroying everything in sight. Her blood offspring hid far away, terrified of becoming her target.
At that moment, Thirteen, wearing a High Tier Contract Item inscribed with the slave pattern curse under his mushroom cap, rushed in with Mengya and the Fishy Two sidekicks.
As soon as he entered, Thirteen wrapped his telepathy stone around Eleanor’s hand: "Master, what’s wrong?"
Upon seeing Thirteen, Eleanor recalled some reports mentioning Puki moving slaves.
However, looking at the slave pattern curse band wrapped around Thirteen, Eleanor set aside her doubts.
After all, anyone could manipulate Puki to do anything. Compared to those fragmented pieces of intelligence, she trusted the High Tier Contract Items she had paid dearly for.
After a conversation, Thirteen rolled his mushroom cap on the ground, and after a while: "Master, how about the Northern Territory? Maybe I can ask my second brother to take us in! At least it’s our own kind, they certainly wouldn’t harm us. It’s better than facing the Demon King!"
Upon hearing about the Northern Territory, Eleanor was about to reject it but paused after thinking it over.
Outside the Empire, where the Demon Race was most abundant, was perhaps the Fungus Castle in the Northern Territory.
Although some former slaves there might hate her, they were only a part of it, and the overall Fungus Castle was fundamentally different from the deep, blood-sea resentment with humans and dwarves.
Eleanor believed that as long as she could show enough value, she could gain some status there. After all, she was a Duke, and her Lord Level strength was valuable everywhere.
Currently, the momentum of Fungus Castle was quite strong, and it seemed able to somewhat resist the Empire’s protection.
Thus, Fungus Castle indeed appeared as a good choice, with the only problem being her former subordinate, Louisa, who now held a high position there.
However, Eleanor knew that Louisa seemed to have used some unknown method to forcibly enhance her strength, probably through unscrupulous means.
As long as she offered bloodline advancement as an exchange, it wouldn’t be hard to win this former subordinate’s support.
She might even be able to bring Louisa back under her command once she established herself!
Thinking of this, she confirmed the feasibility of the idea with Thirteen again, and Thirteen patted his mushroom cap and assured her that he could persuade his second brother to shelter them, though he wasn’t sure about anything beyond that.
Eleanor nodded. After all, this was the best option, and Thirteen bound by Advanced Contract was certainly not going to betray her.
Having made her decision, Eleanor began to gather valuables, taking a large amount of gold, silver, jewelry, rare materials, and High Tier Items from the manor’s treasury, piling them up like trash, stunning Mengya and the Fishy Two.
Eleanor might not excel in other aspects, but her ability to accumulate wealth was top-notch. These treasures acquired through years of bloody business were enough to make anyone envy.
Naturally, Eleanor couldn’t choose to fly to the Northern Territory, as she might be intercepted halfway, plus there were too many dragons in the sky recently, making it unsafe.
The only way to escape was via teleportation.
However, the distance between the Northern Territory and Eleanor’s land was vast, and even with the coordinates provided by Thirteen, initiating the Teleportation Magic Array required an immense amount of magic power.
Fortunately, Eleanor no longer needed to worry about the city falling into chaos due to magic power shortage; this was a one-way ticket.
On the Teleportation Magic Array, Eleanor embraced Thirteen. Surrounding them was a pile of her belongings, leaving no space for anyone else.
Mengya and the Fishy Two, being minor demons, were mercilessly abandoned by Eleanor.
However, unlike other blood offspring who realized they might lose the hope of advancement and were mourning, Mengya was an Enchanting Demon, and Fishy was a Goblin; neither needed Eleanor to advance their bloodline.
Yet, they were now finally free from Thirteen, which in some sense, meant they regained their freedom!
Therefore, though Mengya and Fishy Two appeared saddened, they were secretly delighted inside.
"See you later, don’t run around,"
Thirteen’s voice from the Fungal Network made the two demons pause, looking up to see Thirteen waving tentacles at them before disappearing in the teleportation array.
The Enchanting Demon and the Old Goblin glanced at each other, not yet reacting, when they heard a "boom!"
After Eleanor left, Puki blew up the teleportation array with a magic cannon, leaving it in ruins. No one could be sure who among them controlled the Puki. Only Mengya and Fishy had some guesses, but dared not speak them.
After Eleanor departed, the manor and surrounding areas quickly fell into chaos—looting, fleeing, and even seeking revenge during the confusion.
Meanwhile, slaves in the surrounding factories were left unattended, gradually taken away by Puki appearing out of nowhere.
