Chapter 706 - Invincible Force

Chapter 706: Invincible Force

Following the order, the five lieutenants representing their nations blew their beast bone horns. In mere seconds, the Grassy Continent beasts seemed to have experienced a sudden thirst for blood. Each creature began to grow in size rapidly as if they were about to go berserk.

There was no denying it, the beast army was so strong that both Jade Dragon and Heavenly Spiral’s troops could do nothing to fend them off. This engagement might end up being a slaughterhouse for the defending troops.

What’s more, the coalition still had more Rank 4 and 5 beasts.

There was practically no chance for them to turn the tide of the battle.

“Kill!”

Both Jade Dragon and Heavenly Spiral’s troops knew that well, but they were already on the battlefield. There were no other options.

For their nation and their people, these soldiers were to lay their lives down on the battlefield.

Fortunately, luck was on their side. Of course, these soldiers would all die, just not today.

Just as the enemy beasts began to charge forward, a fire cloud swooped down from above, smashing into the ground in front of them. After the impact, the fire cloud transformed into a sea of flames.

Oddly enough, the flames only spread toward the coalition forces. Hundreds of Grassy Continent beasts were incinerated in the blink of an eye.

The most terrifying part was how harmless the fire cloud appeared initially. It barely gave off any heat, but upon making contact with the flames, the victim would be reduced to ashes immediately. Even beasts as tall as twenty feet weren’t spared.

In just a few seconds, hundreds of Grassy Continent beasts lost their lives. Both factions were now separated by the fire clouds and no one could advance.

“Stop! Stop at once!” shouted the Grassy Continent general.

Even so, the momentum of his charging army meant that a few dozen beasts were unintentionally pushed into the flames.

Jade Dragon and Heavenly Spiral’s troops were shocked. What was this fire cloud that suddenly fell out of the sky? Why was it so powerful? What sort of magic was involved for the flames to produce no heat, but burn so efficiently?

Fortunately, the fire clouds didn’t come at them. Otherwise, they would have perished in an instant.

Just then, someone saw a person standing among the fire clouds.

This man didn’t appear to fear the flames, nor did the flames affect him.

The next instant, this man flung his sleeve and the fire clouds were retracted. So the flames were a result of his spell?

“Amazing!” exclaimed a Jade Dragon lieutenant.

Just then, the Heavenly Spiral general focused on the man’s appearance and his expression faltered. He stumbled forward excitedly to salute the man.

“Greetings Appraiser Lin! I am from Heavenly Spiral’s Heaven Division, Sub-general of the first army, Zhao He!”

The general recognized Lin Jin. No doubt, this had something to do with Feng Ziqian and Heavenly Spiral’s emperor. A while ago, they hired a painter to create a portrait of Lin Jin just to make sure their troops did not offend Lin Jin while they were out in the field. They also foresaw Lin Jin and Curator returning to assist Jade Dragon Kingdom.

This was ultimately what convinced their emperor to risk everything for Jade Dragon Kingdom.

They even went so far as to declare war against the Grassy Continent coalition. Not only did this paint themselves as a target for the enemy, but it also had severe economic consequences.

Despite this, they did it anyway, all because of Lin Jin and Curator.

The fire clouds had obviously been Appraiser Lin’s doing. It was awe-inspiring that he was able to kill hundreds of enemy beasts in mere seconds. Before Lin Jin’s arrival, Heavenly Spiral’s general doubted the decision of their emperor. Now, he understood what a strategic choice it had been.

These fire clouds alone demonstrated the invincibility of Appraiser Lin.

Upon hearing the greeting of Heavenly Spiral’s general, the soldiers of Jade Dragon Kingdom immediately realized who had come to their aid.

“It’s Appraiser Lin!”

“Hooray, Appraiser Lin has finally returned!”

While many of them had never seen Lin Jin before, they were all too familiar with his name. Lin Jin’s fame and reputation in the Jade Dragon Kingdom were not to be underestimated.

Following the unannounced invasion, many of Jade Dragon’s cities had been captured, and countless citizens had gone missing during the process. Even more soldiers died defending their homeland. Under normal circumstances, it would have been impossible for the nation to hold out for so long.

This proved that the entirety of Jade Dragon Kingdom had been enduring the invasion.

There was still hope in their hearts.

This hope did not stem from the fact that Heavenly Spiral was offering their full support. They were aware that Heavenly Spiral did not come to their aid for no reason; they were here thanks to one person.

Coincidentally, this person was also Jade Dragon Kingdom’s last hope.

Now, this person had arrived.

He was a one man army, but was able to turn the tables around nonetheless. While Jade Dragon and Heavenly Spiral’s forces were numerically inferior, their spirits burned fiercer.

On the other hand, while the Grassy Continent coalition had more men, many have been startled by the fire cloud attack from earlier.

They too, caught wind of Lin Jin’s arrival.

“Lin Jin? The beast appraiser? His tricks are impressive, but no matter how strong he is, he is only one person. How can one man stand against our army of thousands? That strange fire was very powerful but it must have a weakness. It can probably be used only once. Men, let us charge once more and tear this Lin Jin to bits!”

The Grassy Continent general was a capable man. Lin Jin’s fire clouds had dealt a significant blow to the morale of his troops. Now matter how brave a fighter was, or how savage a beast was, fear could never be suppressed. And yet, with a short and simple speech, this general was able to drum up their morale again.

Aside from the power of his words, he added some sort of spell into his speech. It was an incredibly ability, and in favorable situations, this technique would be like giving wings to tigers. Even in unwinnable situations, such a speech could turn the tide of the battle if used at the right moment.

Lin Jin frowned at this sight.

Even he admired the competence of the enemy general. It was a pity Lin Jin wasn’t in a good mood today. No matter how impressive the enemy was, it would never curb Lin Jin’s overflowing hostility.

“Slay those that insulted Jade Dragon Kingdom!” shouted Lin Jin.

Having said that, he moved his hand away from the Clear Wind Sword as fire clouds gathered at his feet. The clouds lifted Lin Jin into the sky and they sped away.

The crowd was baffled. Did he just leave the battlefield?

They clearly didn’t understand Lin Jin enough. Lin Jin would only leave if things have been settled here.

The Grassy Continent general was frozen in place, and his face was as stiff as a rock. The next instant, a line of blood crept down from his head to his crotch. Then, the general split in half and fell apart.
