Chapter 1256: 1255 is your bad luck
Li Li felt that these people were too audacious. The hospital had surveillance; did they really not fear getting sued?
“Take it out on me if you have an issue; don’t hurt Li Li!” Lan Ning was unexpectedly firm for once. If her legs weren’t trembling, perhaps she would’ve been more persuasive.
Aware that these people wouldn’t let the matter rest easily, Li Li said to Lan Ning, “You go first, I’ll deal with them.”
Hearing Li Li’s words, Professor Guo felt both admiration and anger, “Now is not the time for you to show off your courage. I am still here, and I refuse to let you get hurt.”
Li Li was touched, but now was not the time for such emotions. She said, “Seniors, please take the teacher and leave quickly. This matter has nothing to do with you; you don’t need to get involved.”
The two were reluctant to leave; they usually had a very good relationship with Li Li, and how could they leave her in trouble now?
“Li Li, rest assured and just lie down. As long as we’re here, you won’t get hurt,” the senior sister said.
The atmosphere grew tense. One side was ready to attack, while the other remained defensive. It was clear to any observer that Li Li and her group stood no chance against those on the opposite side.
“Heh, this ward is lively!” Tan Rou walked in carrying a thermos, removed the scarf from around her neck and placed the thermos on the table, “Have you all eaten yet? If not, why not sit down and have some soup?”
Wu Hao’s aunt was infuriated by her demeanor, “Who are you?”
With a slight smile and a glance at the people at the door, Tan Rou replied, “I’m just here to deliver food.”
Wu Hao’s aunt didn’t let her guard down, “Since you’ve delivered the food, leave quickly. This isn’t a place for you to stay.”
“Is it a place for you to stay then?” Tan Rou smiled and retorted, “Don’t tell me you think that because this is a hospital, you can beat people up at will? Do you think that if you hurt someone here, they can just be treated in the hospital right away?”
Wu Hao’s aunt disliked Tan Rou’s tone as well as her attitude, “Young lady, here’s a piece of sincere advice: leave before I lose my temper. If you don’t want to, then don’t blame my fists for being indiscriminate. If you get hit, it will just be your bad luck.”
“I’m tired of those kinds of threats. Can’t you come up with something more original?” Tan Rou slowly opened the thermos, and a pleasant aroma wafted out, “I’ll ask again, have you eaten? If not, sit down and have something. You might not get a chance to eat later.”
Wu Hao’s father laughed loudly, “Young lady, you really are brazen!”
Smiling, Tan Rou responded, “That’s because I have the strength to back up my brazenness.”
At that moment, a beautiful woman rushed in from outside, grabbed Wu Hao’s father’s hand, “Husband, don’t be impulsive. This is a hospital; you can’t hit people here.”
Impatiently, Wu Hao’s father said, “Get out of my way. Just seeing you makes me angry. It’s all because of you. If it weren’t for you always telling Ah Hao to get along with others harmoniously, he wouldn’t have become so weak, nor would he have been hurt so badly!”
A sad expression crossed the beautiful woman’s face. She was about to say something when Wu Hao’s aunt interrupted, “Sister-in-law, if you don’t want to seek justice for Ah Hao, then stand aside and don’t interfere with us.”
Now slightly angry, the beautiful woman said, “Little sister, it’s bad enough that your brother is rash; why are you stirring things up with him? What Ah Hao did was wrong in the first place. He got hurt because he wasn’t competent enough, so how can you blame the young girl for it?”
Wu Hao’s aunt mocked, “Sister-in-law, whose side are you on?”
“Enough.” Tan Rou ladled soup into a bowl, then carried the soup over to Li Li, “Stop arguing, there’s a patient here.” She handed the bowl to Li Li and whispered gently, “Drink it while it’s hot.”
Then she turned to Wu Hao’s mother and said, “Beautiful lady, because of what you just said, I have decided not to lay a hand on you. But the others well…”
She curved her lips into a smile, her voice ice-cold as she spoke, “I’ll return the earlier words to you: running into me, consider it your bad luck.”
