Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1550: Playing the Scoundrel, It’s Not My Business

Chapter 1550: Chapter 1550: Playing the Scoundrel, It’s Not My Business

"I would like to, but not just anyone has the qualifications to ascend Holy Sword Peak. Otherwise, Han Yutang and the others wouldn’t resent you with envy and oppose you in every way. Hahaha." Dan Tai Xuan laughed heartily, waved his hand, and bid farewell to everyone as he left.

Mu Hanyan also smiled and waved. It seemed Dan Tai Xuan had emerged from the shadows, his temperament had undergone a tremendous change, and he was likely to achieve greatness in the future. She felt gratified for him.

After bidding farewell to Dan Tai Xuan, the group continued toward Holy Sword Peak, and from afar, they saw the clear and cool silhouette of Jian Wuchen.

"Uncle Wuchen."

"Senior Wuchen." As everyone stepped forward to greet, they stowed away their Sword Pets. Holy Sword Peak was not a place to flaunt their might, nor was there any need to show off in front of Jian Wuchen.

During this time, while instructing Mu Hanyan, Jian Wuchen would occasionally take the time to guide them as well. They all benefited greatly and treated Jian Wuchen with deep respect, seeing him as a family elder.

"No rush, no rush, let me take a look first." Seeing everyone in a hurry to retrieve their Sword Pets, Jian Wuchen waved his hand and said jovially.

"I didn’t expect you all to have such great harvests. Initially, I was blaming myself for going into seclusion at the wrong time, not having had the chance to tell you some secrets about the Beast Spirit Illusion Realm. Now, it seems I’ve underestimated you." Looking at everyone’s Sword Pets, Jian Wuchen said with satisfaction.

"All thanks to Young Master Mu; otherwise, we wouldn’t even dream of taming such powerful Sword Pets." Zhuang Ping’an admired Mu Hanyan with all his heart and did not hesitate to praise her.

"Indeed, if it weren’t for Young Master Mu, we wouldn’t even be sure if we could make it back alive; taming any Sword Pets would be out of the question." Others also remarked with emotion.

"Just lucky." Although she had long decided to rally these Descendants of Divine Guardian around her, seeing their grateful and admiring eyes, Lady Mu, who always aimed for low-key, felt a bit embarrassed and spoke modestly.

"As you sow, so shall you reap; all things in this world have cause and effect. I think it’s not entirely luck." Jian Wuchen stroked his beard and smiled.

Mu Hanyan also smiled. No wonder people say that having an elder at home is like having a treasure. Jian Wuchen’s words hit the mark. The great gains from this trip to the Beast Spirit Illusion Realm might be deemed luck, but it was primarily due to the Little Auspicious Beast. However, thinking back, she nearly paid with her life to help extend its vitality. This experience can’t be said to be merely luck.

"Let’s go. Let’s talk on the way. I’m indeed curious what adventure you had that allowed each of you to acquire such formidable Sword Pets." Jian Wuchen said and then led the way up the peak.

Arriving at Holy Sword Peak, the others returned to their respective courtyards to rest, while Mu Hanyan followed Jian Wuchen to his abode at the back mountain.

On the way, Mu Hanyan recounted the journey through the Beast Spirit Illusion Realm. Though she spoke lightly of it, Jian Wuchen listened with deep emotion.

"Hanyan, Han Yutang is severely injured. There could be some trouble." At the end of the tale, Jian Wuchen frowned and said.

"It wasn’t me who did it, anyway. He brought it on himself and it has nothing to do with me," Mu Hanyan said.

"You dare say it has nothing to do with you? If it weren’t for your Little Qilin’s Beast Soul Frenzy, those Exotic Beasts wouldn’t have gone mad. If you hadn’t refused to stop him, would Han Yutang be injured to such an extent?" Hearing Mu Hanyan acting like a playful little girl, Jian Wuchen couldn’t help laughing.

"I won’t tell if no one knows. Can you tell the slightest connection between this guy and the Qilin?" Mu Hanyan’s eyes curved into crescent moons, smiling like a little fox.

As she spoke, Mu Hanyan pointed at the Little Auspicious Beast lying on her shoulder but suddenly noticed it had fallen asleep again without her realizing it.

Reaching out a finger to nudge the little creature, seeing it remained unresponsive, Mu Hanyan casually made some hand gestures and tossed it into the Sword Pet Space.

"You think everyone is a fool and can’t guess your little tricks? Don’t forget, Ao Fangchen is the sole elder of the Divine Elder Peak, and his seniority is not inferior to the Holy Master." Jian Wuchen said unamusedly and flicked Mu Hanyan on the forehead.

"So what if they guess? Without evidence, he can’t target me based on speculation, right? Even if he is someone esteemed like the Divine Elder, he still has to be reasonable," Mu Hanyan said, rubbing her forehead.

Jian Wuchen shook his head, looking at Mu Hanyan with affection, but said nothing more.

"Why are you here again?" Jin Qisheng’s disdainful voice came from outside.

"It’s not your home; why shouldn’t I be here?" Mu Hanyan retorted sharply.

Last time at Sacred Pill Peak, Han Yutang seized the opportunity while distributing elixirs to make things difficult for them. Although Jin Qisheng didn’t show up, it was somehow related to him. Even if he didn’t participate, he certainly condoned it, and Mu Hanyan wasn’t someone who repayed grievances with virtue. Naturally, she wouldn’t display any goodwill upon seeing him.

"Elder Jin, why have you come today?" Seeing Jin Qisheng and Mu Hanyan on the brink of conflict upon meeting, Jian Wuchen felt a headache coming on.

Although the death of Jin Qisheng’s grandfather was not truly related to him, Jian Wuchen felt he had failed his father in care, hence was always apologetic and never assumed the role of an elder before Jin Qisheng, instead addressing him as Elder Jin.

"I found a Withered Spirit White Bone Flower, so I came early to heal you," Jin Qisheng said indifferently while taking out an exquisitely pure white Medicinal Herb.

Withered Spirit White Bone Flower! Mu Hanyan and Jian Wuchen were both surprised.

The Withered Spirit White Bone Flower is said to have the effect of reviving muscles and bones, but it grows in the extreme northern bitter cold, taking thousands of years to mature. Thus, it is extremely rare. Mu Hanyan had only heard of it in legends and never seen it in reality. Without personally witnessing it, she would’ve thought it was just a myth.

"I’ll first apply acupuncture to stimulate you, and then administer this herb. If you’re lucky, it might restore one or two percent of your meridians," Jin Qisheng said coldly, apparently uninterested in speaking further with Jian Wuchen, and directly brought out a Golden Needle.

"No need, this Withered Spirit White Bone Flower is too precious to waste," Jian Wuchen refused.

Thanks to a drop of Mu Hanyan’s blood, his previously injured meridians had already regained vitality, healing swiftly at a visible pace over these days, rendering the use of such a rare herb unnecessary.

"Healing you is the Holy Master’s instruction. Although I know the chances are slim, you shouldn’t give up treatment in vain, let alone reject this attempt because of his intentions," Jin Qisheng misunderstood his meaning and said seriously, with a tinge of anger when mentioning the Holy Master’s heartfelt intention.

"Elder Jin, you’ve misunderstood Senior Wuchen. He didn’t mean to refuse treatment; he meant his injuries don’t need your concern anymore," Mu Hanyan interjected.

In fact, Jin Qisheng’s character is not too bad. Despite holding a grudge against Jian Wuchen all these years, he still made efforts to heal him, undoubtedly putting much work into finding the Withered Spirit White Bone Flower. He has excellent medical ethics.

However, seeing his attitude toward Jian Wuchen, Mu Hanyan found it hard to let go. The past should not be blamed on Jian Wuchen, but because Jin Qisheng was too extreme and narrow-minded, he unfairly blamed Jian Wuchen and showed no semblance of proper respect for a junior.

There were things Jian Wuchen found inconvenient to voice, fearing they’d wound Jin Qisheng’s self-esteem. However, Mu Hanyan had no such reservations.
