Monster Integration

Nine people appeared in front of me, one after another, belonging to different races.

All of them are at either High-Primary III or Peak Primary III.

They all belong to the same team. The badge of their mercenary company is visible on their clothes.

“Have you seen the corrupted?” asked the leader, with a small silverly stumped horn on his head. 

“No, but it is what brought me out of my abode; I had sensed its aura not long ago,” I replied, without a hint of guilt in my eyes.

The leader stared at me for a couple of seconds, saying nothing, before turning to people. 

“Search around, with its injuries. It shouldn’t have run far,” he commanded; they acknowledged and disappeared, while the leader turned back to me.

“Are you sure you have not seen it? You know there is a huge bounty on it. If you tell us, we will share some with you,” he said, and my eyes hardened.

“If I had seen it. It would have been my hands and that bounty would have been mine also,” I replied, and looked directly into its eyes.

A frown appeared on his face, but he said nothing, instead moved away and begin to scan the area with his method. 

I watched him without saying anything before suddenly a frown appeared on my face. 

My core had started to shake. 

‘Fuck!’ I cursed inside while smoothing my expression. My core had started to reject it and I could not bring it out in front of these people. They are not the only ones here, tense of others is spying through their soul sense.

A few seconds passed, and his men returned one after another.

“Anything?” he asked, but they all shook its head. “It disappeared again boss,” replied a beastwomen.

“Don’t worry, it will not be gone far. We have injured it pretty seriously, we will find it,” said the leader and gave me one last look before disappearing.

I watched them leave, before turning and walking toward my abode.

I wanted to run toward it, but I did not instead, I walked slowly, and a minute later; I reached my abode and went inside.

I looked at the blue essence rose for a moment before it flew out of my hand and appeared above the chest of the corrupted.

It landed on the chest gently, and nothing happened.

The string flew toward the essence rose, and wrapped itself around its base, before piercing the skin of the corrupted. There was resistance, but not high enough to stop it.

Soon, it reached the other side and went to the core, but it did not go for a core. It went for the moon.

It reached the moon and wrapped itself around it.
