293 The Unknown Valkyrie
[BONUS]
The ooze colossus was Jibblinplip’s most powerful lieutenant — probably too powerful for guilds to take on alone. Fortunately, it didn’t focus on them much since its goal was to eat the nearest ruler, and then the next closest, and so on.
It had a tremendous quantity of hit points, as well as huge damage. Just like its main body, it can also eat everyone simply just by touching them.
This alarmed the monarchy, which monitored the battle very closely. They sent their fastest carriers to order their respective armies to eliminate the Colossus first.
The Kingdom’s Armies quickly heeded the decision to kill the Colossus, as it posed the greatest threat, leaving Jibblinplip to live another day.
Saving the Monarchs of the Kingdoms took the utmost precedence, but slowing Jibblinplip down was still taken into consideration.
“Great. They left Jibblinplip alone and went after the Colossus instead.”
“Change of plans. Kill the Colossus and get that scepter.”
Every guild changed its strategy to match with the NPCs, and it was a race once more on who would get the [Monarch Sovereignty].
However, they weren’t the only ones after the legendary scepter. Even the NPCs were drawn by its power.
Every Kingdom had realized that suspended in the center of the Ooze Colossus was the legendary [Monarch Sovereignty]. This scepter could make even the meekest rulers the masters of their domain, and they would also get substantial rewards for the scepter’s recovery — and, oh, stopping the ooze colossus was good too.
“Men! Kill that pest and bring the Scepter to me!” the generals shouted.
“Assume battle formation and lay waste to that menace!”
The Tanks and DPS dashed toward the Colossus, who went the opposite way of Jibblinplip. The good thing about the Colossus was that they could finally attack its body with weapons without becoming one with it, unlike with Jibblinplip. Another good news was that it didn’t have resistance to continuous attacks.
Though it had huge HP and lots of Skills, it was an easier-to-kill Ooze when compared with its main body.
The armies made work of its legs first, reducing it with their skills and barrage of magical attacks. Of course, the Ooze Colossus didn’t just stand there, taking that damage.
It leaped high above the ground and smashed itself directly against the area where armies congregated, dealing massive damage that killed a chunk of the combatant NPCs while the survivors got knocked back and suffered from Stun.
The healers were quick on their feet, healing the soldiers who were on the brink of death, while the damage dealers supported them until they were on their feet. A series of magical blows pushed the Oozes Colossus back, giving the melee soldiers some room to breathe to work on their skills.
Blinded by smoke and barraged of magical attacks, the Colossus used [Multiattack]. Two massive cannon jelly balls were shot from its hands, hitting a group of soldiers. The Colossus followed its attack with [Engulfing Slam].
Despite being unable to see anything due to the steady stream of magical attacks, it still managed to engulf and kill dozens of inhabitants with a single move.
The Tanks and DPS were quick to get away from the ravaging Colossus. Now, they knew better than to blindly go in there when the monster was in range.
The main damage dealers were waiting for the magical attack to cease before they went in. In the meantime, they were avoiding the Colossus’ desperate strikes. It didn’t take thirty minutes before the Colossus’s legs hit points drop to zero, and it fell flat on the ground, pummeling its hands against the earth.
Having lost its legs, the Ooze Colossus gained speed instead of slowing down as it slid along the ground like a block of ice on a frying pan.
Those who couldn’t react on time were eaten by its large mouth, while those who were hit by its massive frame got knocked back and suffered from STUN.
The Ooze Colossus grew wilder the more its HP dropped. Though to make that happen, the Kingdoms had to sacrifice hundreds of their armies.
At the rate this was going, no one knew who would win in the end.
“Send word to the King! We need reinforcement!”
“The Empire’s Battalion is upon us! Hold out, men!”
All sorts of cries and shouts resounded from the armies’ respective leaders in an attempt to increase morale. But it didn’t work, and to make it worse, Jibblinplip released another humming vibration.
Those within its range were quick to leap into its embrace, while the White Mages canceled their ongoing spells and prioritized dispelling Jibblinplip’s control on their soldiers.
Taking the opportunity, the Ooze Colossus attacked with [Engulfing Slam]. Every soldier within its range was grasped and got pummelled between its hands, dying on the spot. Those who survived lived inside the giant Ooze, suffering from continuous Acid damage.
The thousands strong soldiers from before were reduced to less than half of their original number in just a single day, while Jibblinplip continued eating without care, regaining its lost HP and MP.
The Kingdoms’ armies could see their future turn bleaker. The storm seemed like it would topple them down, and they felt like falling on their knees from the might of Jibblinplip.
They would have stood a chance if not for the appearance of the Ooze Colossus.
“This is the stupidest thing I have ever seen, and I am so upset that it’s about to kill me,” one of the generals said, resigning to his death.
There was no hope from the Empire’s Battalion. They received word that they would arrive tomorrow morning at the earliest.
There had been no hope for them in the first place when the Ooze Colossus appeared, but they still put their life on the line to kill the Ooze Colossus while slowing Jibblinplip, waiting for the Empire’s Battalion to arrive.
Amidst the chaos and desperation on the battlefield, a golden light suddenly flashed through the dark sky. The dark clouds parted, revealing the bright horizon behind the curtain of rain and thunder.
The gold light shot straight to the Colossus, reducing the hit points in its hands to zero with just a single hit. The Colossus’s hands were already low in HP, but still, cutting it off with a single strike was beyond what any human could do.
Since the Ooze Colossus’s arms were cut, its core began to leak acid around it, but the soldier who cut its arms stood with an iron-straight back near the titan as if she was immune to it.
Clad in eye-catching golden armor from head to toe was a warrior with question marks instead of a name displayed atop her head, which meant that her identity was a secret. She held a strange glowing broad sword in one hand and a shield in the other.
But Ren knew who the warrior was after using [Probe] on her. His eyes rounded in shock because it was none other than the Princess of the Human Continent.
Princess Lorelai.
