Chapter 1369 - You Run, I Chase, Catching Up...
Chapter 1369: You Run, I Chase, Catching Up…
“Old Bull!!”
When they heard this voice, everyone turned back in joyful expectation. They saw Wang Yu jumping down from the roof as he descended steadily in front of the crowd.
“!!!”
Upon seeing Wang Yu, Scarless’s heart skipped a beat.
Scarless knew how formidable Wang Yu was. Back in the bar, Wang Yu held his ground against so many of her subordinates. The situation was even more desperate now since Wang Yu had more reinforcements on his side.
Scarless also had previous tussles with Wang Yu and knew Wang Yu’s weakness. Her expressions slightly soften as she said in a cheeky tone, “Hmm, I was wondering who was it. It turns out to be my beloved husband!”
“Husband???!!!”
The entire Quan Zhen Sect stared widely at Wang Yu upon hearing her words. They were full of incredulity, horror and even a touch of admiration.
F*ck, there were previous marriage rumors that surrounded this young master of the Wang Family, but the players from the Quan Zhen Sect did not even imagine it could be the young lady before them…
As they gazed upon Wang Yu, they turned back towards Scarless. Why did they not have the good fortune of being matched with such a beautiful girl?
Even if they had a good fortune, they might not have the capability to handle it since Scarless was probably stronger than even a BOSS…
Yang Nuo, Purity and the lady in front of them. This trio was more than enough to decimate the Quan Zhen Sect…
“Bullsh*t!”
Wang Yu was highly distressed as he saw the reaction of his comrades. He quickly justified, “Don’t listen to her nonsense, I don’t even know her!”
Food can be eaten without paying much attention, but such words cannot be thrown around so casually. If these words were to travel to Mu Zi Xian’s ears, the consequences would be dire…
“Is that really the case? Why did she call you hubby then?” the players questioned meaningfully, deep in thought. Wang Yu was almost in tears as he surveyed their suspicious expressions.
“A bunch of fools!”
Seeing that the Quan Zhen Sect had really turned on Wang Yu, Scarless scoffed coldly. She went into [Stealth] and was about to run.
Before she could even take two steps, there was an earthen wall that blocked her path.
Following that, a mist of limestone powder descended from the sky onto Scarless, revealing her figure.
Ming Du quipped faintly, “What do you think you are doing? Who let you go?”
Ming Du’s actions jolted everybody out of their stupor as they reorientated their attention on Scarless.
Scarless knew that her little trick was unravelled and she scrambled to think of another plan. She harrumphed, “Do you think it is shameless for a bunch of old men to bully a young lady of the younger generation?”
“No… What is shame?” the Quan Zhen Sect answered forthcomingly.
“I…” Scarless was exasperated to the point she wanted to vomit blood. She glared at Wang Yu and said, “You are a martial artist. Surely, you won’t behave like that bunch of trash.”
Scarless was also a scheming individual and she deftly cornered Wang Yu with her question.
As a martial artist, the biggest taboo was to prey on the weak and vulnerable. Furthermore, the Wang Family was a stalwart within the martial arts community. Although they had a different way of doing things, they would not stray away from this bottom line. Was Wang Yu going to speak for himself or was he representing the will of the Wang Family?
Although Scarless knew she was no match for Wang Yu, she had full confidence in her ability to escape. After all, that was her specialisation as an Assassin and as a Qing Gong practitioner. Wang Yu could never match her in speed no matter how hard he tried.
As long as Wang Yu did simultaneously make a move on her with the other players, Scarless was sure she could pull herself out of this rut.
The players from Quan Zhen Sect saw through her scheme in an instance and frantically called out, “Old Bull! Don’t fall for her petty tricks! This woman runs insanely fast. We need to do it together!”
“It is not so troublesome!”
Wang Yu smiled at them before waving their concerns away. “This is just a small matter. I can handle it alone! Old Li, open the way for me.”
“This… Alright.”
Ming Du gave Wang Yu a final pleading look reluctantly before removing the earthen wall.
Once the wall dissipated, a clear road once again appeared in front of Scarless. Wang Yu pointed towards Scarless and quipped, “As long as you can run away from me, I won’t demand the seal anymore. I will even send all your subordinates out safely. However, if you can’t run away, hand over the seal. I don’t want to make a move on a woman!”
“Hehe!” Scarless chuckled as she replied, “I will hold you to this! Bye!”
Scarless turned around and ran instantly.
Scarless had been trained in qing gong ever since she was young. In the game, she also had all of her stats in agility. She disappeared in a streak of blur after buffing herself with [Haste]. In the blink of an eye, she was approaching the endpoint.
She was filled with glee in her heart.
The Assassin was a stealth occupation so they had to pay extra attention when they were moving. It was easy for them to miss their target if they let down their focus even for a single moment. The corner of the intersection was an easy target for them to miss.
Just when she was about to turn, Scarless felt a cool breeze from behind. There was a hand that reached over to grab her!
“F*ck!! How is this possible???!!”
Facing the attack from behind, Scarless felt apprehension in her heart. Although her feet were still on the ground, she tilted her body leftwards in an impossible angle.
“Swoosh!”
At this moment, a burly figure swept past her.
Scarless broke into a cold sweat as she made out the figure at the corner of her eye.
Scarless was an Assassin with the highest possible stats in agility. She herself knew how quick she could be when her natural talents were buffed with [Haste].
However, in a matter of seconds, a Pugilist managed to catch up to her. When did the speed of Pugilists become so frightening?
As everyone knew, Wang Yu did not focus on agility but he was not a disadvantage because of it because he had utilised qing gong to make up for it. This was a special variant of qing gong to Pugilist that allowed Wang Yu to even chase down full agility archers… Chasing an Assassin was not too far from that.
Fortunately, Scarless was an expert practitioner of qing gong herself. She could make sharp turns even while at high speed. If Wang Yu did not brake himself in time, he would have crashed into Scarless.
After escaping from Wang Yu’s attack, Scarless did not dare to hesitate for another moment. She got up to her feet and rapidly gained distance away. To her horror, before she could take a few steps, Wang Yu was just trailing closely behind. He leaped over her and positioned himself right between her and the endpoint.
“So? I have caught up to you. Return the seal to me!” Wang Yu asked with his palms raised out.
“What is the use of catching up with me!”
Scarless quipped, “You need to restrain me first!”
Following that she lifted her hand and sent her dagger towards Wang Yu’s face.
