Spirit power gushed out from his body. He molded it into countless sharp chains that surged toward Chu Feng.
Chu Feng calmly brandished his Lightning Flame Sword while retreating into the distance.
But more and more chains pursued Chu Feng, and they were becoming increasingly thicker. Eventually, they transformed into ferocious formation dragons that unleashed terrifying roars while relentlessly pursuing Chu Feng.
This was not just any simple formation; it was a compounded formation. The more formation dragons there were, the stronger each formation dragon would be.
But Chu Feng easily evaded all attacks, even as the formation dragons grew more numerous and faster. None of the formation dragons had been able to nick Chu Feng.
Baili Xukong and the other neutral elders nervously clenched their fists. They were worried about Chu Feng. Even dealing with a single formation dragon was already beyond them, but Chu Feng was dealing with countless of them.
“Jie Tianran, you despicable old thing! You said that you wouldn’t resort to formations and treasures if our young master didn’t use any martial skills! What does this count as?”

Jimo Qianzhou, Chen Hui, and the other Netherworld Sectmembers hurled insults at Jie Tianran, though there was no way the latter would be fazed by them. Jie Tianran’s murderous eyes were fixed on Chu Feng.
“Jie Tianran, something is off about your grandson. How is it that we can’t suppress him even when using a formation of this caliber? His God Armament might be formidable, but there has to be a limit to how much it can raise his fighting prowess. Don’t hold back anymore. We need to get rid of him right now!” the old entity inside Jie Tianran’s body said.
Jie Tianran couldn’t even be bothered to respond. There was no way he would still be holding back after losing an arm and an eye. He would have been shredded to pieces by now if he were still holding back.
He channeled the power of his forbidden talisman paper and raised his fighting prowess back to the level as when he was dealing with the Netherworld Sect’s formation.

Chu Feng swung his Lightning Flame Sword, unleashing powerful sword rays.
The sword rays tore through the indomitable formation dragons, silencing the roars and obliterating the formation. The only one who remained standing in the area was Chu Feng and his sword!

“I reckon even ten thousand rankly seven Heavenly Gods wouldn’t be able to nick our young master in the slightest,” Ting Yun said.

The other neutral elders were dumbstruck. As formidable as Chu Feng’s fighting prowess was, they still thought that Ting Yun’s evaluation was exaggerated.

The formation soldiers wore golden armor and wielded golden spears, and they emanated a divine light like celestial soldiers. All of them simultaneously raised their spears high and pointed them at Chu Feng.
Jie Tianran formed a hand seal. All the celestial soldiers’ faces warped in ferocity as they hurled their formation spears at Chu Feng at the same time.
But Chu Feng remained unfazed despite the rain of golden spears.

Chu Feng unleashed a sword ray with a swing of his blade.
With a loud explosion, the humongous realm formed by the countless formation soldiers was cleaved into two. All the formation soldiers lost their support, and they began disintegrating into thin air.
“Impossible!”
Jie Tianran had expended so much energy from channeling the formation that he was bleeding from his nostrils. However, he didn’t have the energy to tend to his injuries. He had believed that this slaughter formation was more than enough to destroy any opponent of the same rank.
It was powerful enough to destroy realms, but Chu Feng cleaved his way out of it with ease.
The Netherworld Sectmembers were in disbelief as well.
“Your judgment is on point, Ting Yun. With our young master’s fighting prowess, even ten thousand rank seven Heavenly Gods wouldn’t be a match for our young master,” Lie Shan said.
“Cough cough cough...” Jie Tianran violently coughed up blood.
His face was pale, and he was sweating profusely. In moments, he had become so thin that he looked like a dying person. This was how much the earlier formation had sapped him.
“Is this all you’re capable of?” Chu Feng asked.

The feeble Jie Tianran laughed. His body swayed weakly with each laugh, as if even projecting his voice was strenuous to him in his current condition. He looked deranged.

“Anyone in his place would be crushed,” Baili Xukong said.
He was once enemies with Chu Feng, so he couldn’t help but put himself in Jie Tianran’s position and imagine how he would have felt if he were faced against the current Chu Feng. Only one word came to his mind: despair.
“Chu Feng, I might have underestimated you, but I am nowhere near as weak as you think.” Jie Tianran’s eyes gleamed with savagery.

Jie Tianran suddenly let out a deafening roar as tremendous spirit power gushed out from his body like a collapsed dam. His body cracked, and blood seeped out of those lacerations, only to immediately vaporize under the spirit power.
“Jie Tianran, are you out of your mind?! I told you not to hold back, but I didn’t tell you to sacrifice yourself to win this battle! We can always run away if we can’t defeat your grandson right now!” The old entity inside Jie Tianran’s body panicked.
Jie Tianran was attempting to tap into the energy inside the forbidden talisman paper that was usually out of his reach. This was extremely consuming and dangerous, to the point where it could be fatal.

The Netherworld Sectmembers were unnerved. They noticed that Jie Tianran’s aura had vaguely transcended rank seven Heavenly Dragon to knock on the threshold of rank eight Heavenly Dragon.
“Is this your secret hand, Jie Tianran? Interesting,” Chu Feng calmly remarked.
The contempt he displayed never faltered, no matter what Jie Tianran did. His move shocked everyone.

He plunged the Lightning Flame Sword into the folds of space and let go of it. Now weaponless, he flitted toward Jie Tianran.

Chu Feng chuckled. He didn’t utter a word, but the aura he unleashed explained it all.
The Netherworld Sectmembers were stunned before cheering in delight. Everything finally made sense to them.
