Chapter 6244: Chu Feng’s Great Reputation
Chapter 6244: Chu Feng’s Great Reputation
Shortly after Chu Feng and Jie Shanxian left, the Seven Realms Immortal Sect’s gate opened, and a group of people dressed in white world spiritist cloaks rushed out.
Three people stood at the forefront of the group—a young woman, an old man, and a middle-aged man. It could be seen from their eyes that they were old monsters who had lived for a long time.
The middle-aged man scanned the surroundings before asking the woman, “Why didn’t you stop them?”
Both the woman and the old man looked nervous. They were the ones who made disdainful remarks earlier from inside the gate. Only upon seeing how easily Jie Shanxian refined the Purple Ascensions did they rush to inform the middle-aged man.
“Milord, she left right after refining the Purple Ascensions. We didn’t have time to stop her,” the woman explained.
Before the woman and the old man could snap out of their daze, Jie Shanxian had already left with Chu Feng.
“Do you remember her appearance?” the middle-aged man asked.
The woman quickly drew them with her spirit power—it was Chu Feng and Jie Shanxian’s disguised appearances.
“They look too normal. They must have disguised themselves.”
The middle-aged man’s face grew increasingly colder, which left the woman and the old man so afraid that they dared not raise their heads. They realized that they had slipped up.The middle-aged man didn’t lose his temper in the end. Instead, he ordered, “Look for them, but don’t cause a fuss. Report their whereabouts to me after you find them.”
The world spiritists behind him immediately scattered, including the woman and the old man.
The middle-aged man walked up to where a cluster of Purple Ascensions used to be and picked up some of the refinement residue. His eyes looked grim, but they carried a hint of delight.
…
Chu Feng and Jie Shanxian headed off to join the commotion. It wasn’t difficult for them to figure out the way as most people were headed in the same direction.
In the meantime, they also kept an ear out on the street.
They learned that the Huangfu Heavenly Clan indeed occupied the southern sealed region. It was only recently that they and the Seven Realms Immortal Sect emerged from their seclusion. They did so at the same time, almost as if it was planned.
The Huangfu Heavenly Clan once left the formation realm to participate in the Nine Heavens’ Zenith, but their results were lackluster. They were mocked by the Seven Realms Immortal Sect over that, and a battle even broke out.
It was a huge battle. It ended inconclusive, but both sides revealed that they had Heavenly God level cultivators and Heavenly Dragon World Spiritists.
The others realized that these two powerhouses weren’t to be trifled with, though they didn’t know exactly how powerful their Heavenly God level cultivators and Heavenly Dragon World Spiritists were.
Recently, the Huangfu Heavenly Clan announced that they had a treasure to share with everyone, and those who came would receive a benefit. However, no one knew what the treasure and benefits were.
In other words, Chu Feng didn’t receive any useful information.
“Brother, do you know who is the strongest junior in the world of cultivation now? Do you know who defeated the juniors in the Nine Heavens’ Zenith?” a man with a sharp mouth and sunken cheeks asked Chu Feng.
Most of the useless information Chu Feng obtained was from this man.
Before Chu Feng could answer, someone else traveling alongside them replied, “Who doesn’t know that? It’s someone named Chu Feng.”
The man smiled in glee. “You might have heard of Chu Feng, but how much do you know about him? Do you know what he looks like?”
The crowd shook their heads.
They couldn’t see what was happening outside. Everything they knew about Chu Feng was leaked from the Huangfu Heavenly Clan, though there were also claims that it was the Seven Realms Immortal Sect who divulged the information.
The Seven Realms Immortal Sect, as a world spiritist sect, was likely to have means to observe the outside world too.
“It’s rumored that Chu Feng is a vicious and bloodthirsty person. He would gouge out the eyes of anyone he sees,” the man said.
“Hoh. Chu Feng, I didn’t expect you to have such a reputation among the Ancient Era’s races,” Eggy teased.
Chu Feng was rendered speechless. How am I such an unreasonable person? The Huangfu Heavenly Clan is outright trying to sully my reputation.
The man glanced at Chu Feng as he continued, “Brother, it’s only a matter of time before this formation realm opens up. There are countless remnants out there, and we will inevitably cross paths with the present-era cultivators. You have to be careful if you do meet Chu Feng. Flee if you ever hear his name. Make sure you don’t ever look at him. I happen to have his portrait with me. Would you like to take a look? You can at least avoid him if you know what he looks like.”
He took out a rolled-up portrait.
“I’ll take a look,” Chu Feng said.
The others craned their necks to take a look. Even those who hadn’t participated in the conversation came closer to get a glimpse of the portrait.
“I spent a king’s ransom to obtain this portrait. I can give you a look, but you should at least compensate me for it, right?” the man asked.
“I shan’t look then.” Chu Feng waved his hand. Why would he spend money to look at his portrait?
But a bearded, brawny man among the crowd asked how much it would cost and paid the sum.
“Brother, do you want to look at it yourself and share it with the others?” the man asked.
“I’ll let the others have a look too,” the bearded man replied.
His generosity won him cheers from the crowd.
“All right.” The man quickly unfurled the portrait.
Chu Feng was rendered speechless upon seeing the portrait.
The portrait showed a dark-skinned, hideous man with the vilest face imaginable. He was even more hideous than the sharp-mouthed, sunken cheeks man, so much so that he resembled a walking ape than a human.
“Why is Chu Feng so ugly?” the bearded man asked.
“He might be ugly, but you mustn’t underestimate him because of it. Make sure to avoid him if you ever see him!” the man exclaimed.
“He does look like a vicious person. To think that the present-era cultivators are so vile!”
The crowd criticized the Chu Feng in the portrait.
“Brother, did you draw this portrait yourself?” Chu Feng couldn’t resist asking.
