Martial God Asura

Chapter 6198: Decision

Chapter 6198: Decision

“May I meet Milady Queen now?” Chu Feng politely asked from the desert.

He had asked this question multiple times now, but there had been no response. He was unaware that the ruler of this land was busy chatting with Shahun Haotian.

Countless spirit formation gates suddenly appeared from the sky, and silhouettes flew out from within and occupied the sky like a massive swarm of locusts.

These silhouettes emanated black auras that obscured their faces; only their blood-red eyes could be seen. They were fairly powerful rank five True God level cultivators who wouldn’t pale far in comparison to Shahun Haotian.

Shahun Haotian was an individual, but there were millions of these black aura silhouettes. Furthermore, they were standing in a massacre formation. It would be much harder to deal with them than Shahun Haotian, since Chu Feng didn’t know what tricks they had up their sleeves.

Even their disposition felt threatening.

They glared fiercely at Chu Feng, looking as if they would charge at him as soon as they received the order to do so.

Soon, two rays of light descended before Chu Feng.

One contained a spirit formation gate. The other contained a black bottle.

“Since you have cleared the trial, I’ll make an exception and allow your world spirit to leave this place, but she has to return to the Asura Spirit World and never step foot on the world of cultivation again. She is also forbidden from contacting any world spiritists through any channels or mediums,” the voice echoed.

“You’re saying that she can return to the Asura Spirit World if I leave now?” Chu Feng asked.

“That’s right.”

“What’s the black bottle?”

“You can also stay here and continue the challenge. If you defeat all the opponents in the sky, you can take your world spirit away with you. However, you’ll have to first consume the contents inside the black bottle. It’ll temporarily restore some of your fighting prowess, but it will also end your life as a cultivator. You will never regain your cultivation,” the voice said.

Without any hesitation, Chu Feng grabbed the black bottle.

He understood the consequences of losing his cultivation, but even that paled in comparison to losing Eggy.

Just then, the spirit formation gate opened, and the voice echoed from within, “Chu Feng, as someone who has inherited the Ruler’s Bloodline, a bright future awaits you as a world spiritist. But have you wondered why the world of cultivation is named as such? Unless you reach the top as a cultivator, you will never understand the true secrets behind the world of cultivation.

“Your Heavenly Lightning Bloodline is currently impaired, but it can be fixed. Given your talent, it’s only a matter of time before you return to your peak. Yet, you are willing to give up on your martial cultivation just to have that world spirit by your side. Is that what your parents wish for you? Is that what your world spirit wishes for you?”

Chu Feng chuckled. He uncorked the bottle, intending to gulp it down.

But the voice echoed once more, “I’m not done explaining the rules yet. Even if you sacrifice your martial cultivation and clear the trial, it will be for naught unless your world spirit chooses to stay with you. She has also been given a choice—she can return to the Asura Spirit World or stay behind for you. You can only take her with you if she chooses to trust you and stay behind, or else your sacrifice would have been in vain.

“More importantly, if she trusts you and decides to stay behind, she will have to brave danger together with you. If you clear the trial, the two of you will be allowed to safely leave. If you fail the trial, the two of you will die together.”

Chu Feng froze up. The black bottle was touching his lips, but he dared not to drink it anymore. He carefully examined the black aura army in the sky.

If he was defeated in this battle, Eggy would die too.

He hesitated.

…

Meanwhile, Eggy was trapped in a desolate realm shrouded in a white fog.

She didn’t regret her decision, but she looked crestfallen. “A hundred thousand years is a very long time. Will Chu Feng have forgotten about me then?”

As soon as she murmured those words, she shook her head with a smile. “How is that possible? He will never forget me.”

But her smile didn’t last long.

She couldn’t be certain of that.

A hundred thousand years was a very long time, long enough for someone to forget about their loved ones. Chu Feng would meet countless people and do many things in the meantime. She couldn’t say for sure whether he would still remember her at the end of it all.

Just then, a massive shadow appeared in the far distance. Even though it was obscured by the fog, she could still tell that it was a gate.

Thus, she got up to investigate it.

Just then, a voice echoed, “Chu Feng has regained consciousness, and he wishes to take you out of here. He has cleared the first trial, thus securing the right for you to leave this place.”

Eggy was overjoyed, but what was said afterward dampened her mood as if someone had poured a pail of cold water on her.

“However, the caveat is that you can’t return to Chu Feng’s side; you can only return to the Asura Spirit World. Chu Feng now faces a difficult decision, and that is whether he should leave or continue the challenge. You too have a decision to make.”

The voice shared the rules with Eggy.

“Can I meet him? Let me meet him once,” Eggy pleaded.

She didn’t want Chu Feng to brave the danger.

“No. You can only choose whether to stay behind or to leave,” the voice replied.

Seeing there was no room for negotiation, Eggy decisively replied, “I’ll stay behind.”

“Think things through. If he gives up on the trial, the gate will open and transport you back to the Asura Spirit World regardless of your choice. If he continues the trial, he can only take you away if he clears it. If he fails, you will die with him.”

But Eggy’s mind was made up. “I have stated my choice.”

“You can wait for the results then,” the voice said.

The realm fell silent once more.

Eggy looked at the gate in the distance. She had previously intended to investigate it, but she dared not to approach it anymore.

For the longest time, she had wanted to return to the Asura Spirit World to see her loved ones. The way home was right before her now, but she was averse to it. So averse that she dared not approach it.

She was worried that she wouldn’t be able to return if she got too close to it. She would rather stay here for 100,000 years than to never see Chu Feng again.

But the choice was not in her hands.

Even if she chose to stay, she would still be sent back to the Asura Spirit World if Chu Feng gave up on the trial.

But at the same time, she was worried that danger would befall Chu Feng if he chose to challenge the trial. The last thing she would want was for him to meet with a mishap. She didn’t want to burden him when there were so many important things he needed to do.

Eggy felt conflicted.

She wanted to meet Chu Feng once more, but at the same time, she was afraid of him meeting with a mishap.

Before she knew it, she was already trembling. Her inner conflict was gradually driving her toward a mental breakdown.

Crk!

Eggy raised her head. Despite the white fog, she saw the gate slowly opening.

Did Chu Feng give up? Am I going to be sent back to the Asura Spirit World, never to return here?

The thought of that drained all of Eggy’s strength, and she slumped to the ground. Sadness washed over her like never before. Her heart ached so much that she struggled to breathe.

Hu!

A gentle breeze blew the white fog away.

A person emerged from the gate—it was Chu Feng.

Eggy burst into tears like a child.

Chu Feng walked up to her and wiped the tears off her face. “What are you crying for?”

Eggy lifted her head. “I thought you had given up on me.”

Chu Feng pulled Eggy into his embrace. “You fool. Even if I give up on the world, I would never give up on you.”

But Chu Feng suddenly felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. Eggy had punched him.

“Lies! Haven’t you already abandoned me?” Eggy glared at Chu Feng with tearful eyes.

Chu Feng knew he was at fault here. He squeezed out a smile and said, “I was wrong. I would never dare do that again.”

Eggy glared at him before indignantly burying her face into his chest. She held onto him so tightly that it hurt him, but Chu Feng knew that the harder she held him, the more frightened she had been.

“There won’t be a second time. I will never leave you ever again,” Chu Feng swore.
