Chapter 232 - 176: I’m a Mage, What Do I Do After Gaining Enlightenment of Swordsman Skills?
Chapter 232: Chapter 176: I’m a Mage, What Do I Do After Gaining Enlightenment of Swordsman Skills?
Is this even possible?
THUD!
The moment Fang Xiu landed, he didn’t pause for an instant.
He charged out once more.
While not as fast as Kajimi, his speed was still a blur to the naked eye.
Fang Xiu brandished the sword in his hand and charged toward the pack of Level 20 Demon Beasts.
The blade glinted, tracing one elegant arc after another.
With every swing of Fang Xiu’s sword, the Level 20 Demon Beasts fell one by one.
The previously ferocious Demon Beasts were completely powerless before Fang Xiu.
As the battle continued, the number of Demon Beasts dwindled.
Wielding a Level 5 sword, Fang Xiu cut a path through them.
He used no Skills, relying solely on his own Power.
One after another, the Demon Beasts collapsed before his eyes.
Soon, only one remained.
It glanced at Fang Xiu, then at the fallen Demon Beasts around it.
It turned and fled.
"Holy shit, Brother Fang is a badass! He scared the Demon Beast into running away!"
Luo Xing watched the fleeing Level 20 Demon Beast, his face a mask of shock.
’Is this the immense pressure that comes from a true powerhouse?’
"Trying to run?"
The Demon Beast wanted to escape, but Fang Xiu wasn’t about to let it go so easily.
After all, Fang Xiu was just getting warmed up.
’How could I let this Demon Beast just run off?’
Sword in hand, he charged straight after the Demon Beast.
In that instant, Fang Xiu unleashed his full Power.
Not only did his speed increase dramatically, but the sword in his hand also began to glow.
"Thunder Shock Slash!"
Fang Xiu shouted the name subconsciously.
A thunderous roar erupted from the sword in his hand.
RUMBLE!
Then, he swung the sword down.
A white light flashed.
Before he had even caught up to the Demon Beast, his attack had already sliced it in two.
"This..."
Fang Xiu was completely stunned.
’What in the world just happened?’
"A Skill? Did I just have an Enlightenment and learn another Skill?"
Fang Xiu suddenly realized.
He must have triggered his Enlightenment passive and learned a Skill directly.
Fang Xiu was curious about what kind of Skill it was.
He opened his Attribute panel to check.
[Thunder Shock Slash: A Swordsman Skill. Requires a sword to use. Instantly deals 150% of the user’s Power as damage to an enemy and knocks them back fifteen meters. After use, grants a 50% increase in movement speed for 5 seconds.]
Because Fang Xiu’s Power was too immense,
the Skill had instantly slain the Demon Beast upon use.
That’s why the knockback effect didn’t trigger.
’It seems to be another Swordsman Skill?’
Fang Xiu felt a little helpless.
’I’m a Mage, and I just had an Enlightenment for a Swordsman Skill. What am I supposed to do now? Help wanted, urgently.’
It wasn’t just Fang Xiu who was shocked.
Luo Xing and the others around him were also stunned.
"A Skill? That was definitely a Skill just now, right?"
Luo Xing exclaimed in astonishment.
"Yes, and a melee Skill at that!"
Chu Qingxue, who was standing to the side, nodded slightly.
That Skill was definitely not a Mage’s Skill.
She was absolutely certain of that.
’But... Fang Xiu is clearly a Sacrificial Master!’
As for the three people they had rescued, they were utterly flabbergasted.
One person had killed over a dozen Level 20 Demon Beasts.
And he had only used a single Skill right at the very end.
’Is that something a human is truly capable of?’
...
「Outside the monitoring room.」
All the teachers who witnessed this scene were dumbfounded.
"Fang Xiu is... a Mage?"
"He should be a Sacrificial Master!"
"In any case, he’s not a Warrior!"
"And not a Swordsman!"
"But that seemed to be a Swordsman’s Skill?"
"Right!"
"..."
Everyone fell silent for a moment.
Then someone else spoke up, "Can a Mage learn a Swordsman’s Skill?"
"Theoretically, it’s possible!" someone answered.
"But you can’t use them! It’s a waste of a Skill slot!" the person who had asked the question said, exasperated.
"Principal Xiang, what... what’s going on?" someone turned to Principal Xiang and asked.
Hearing this, Principal Xiang’s brows furrowed slightly.
He thought for a moment before saying, "If it’s a Skill that Fang Xiu gained through his own Enlightenment, then he can use it!"
"His own Enlightenment?"
"Huh? That’s possible?"
"A Mage had an Enlightenment for a Swordsman’s Skill?"
"That’s countless times harder than having an Enlightenment for a Mage Skill!"
Hearing Principal Xiang’s words, everyone was stunned.
They all knew about gaining Skills through Enlightenment.
But this seemed to be the first time any of them had seen someone have an Enlightenment for a Skill that didn’t match their Profession!
"Moreover, judging by Fang Xiu’s reaction, he must have just gained this Skill through Enlightenment!"
A smile appeared on Principal Xiang’s face.
On the monitor, they could see that Fang Xiu’s expression just now had also been one of astonishment.
If he wasn’t mistaken, Fang Xiu himself hadn’t expected it.
"Gained it through Enlightenment just now?"
Everyone wore a look of surprise.
’Fang Xiu had an Enlightenment for a Skill just now? He learned a Skill just by chasing and hacking at Demon Beasts?’
"Yes, look at his surprised expression. It’s obvious he didn’t expect it himself."
Principal Xiang was, as ever, extremely observant.
He continued, "Besides, if he already had this Swordsman Skill, he would have used it from the start, not waited until the end. If he had used this Skill from the beginning, he probably could have killed all the Demon Beasts three minutes faster."
"But Principal, he only took five minutes!" one of them said, glancing at the timer.
"Yes! I know!"
Principal Xiang nodded slightly.
His words implied that he hadn’t misspoken or misremembered.
Fang Xiu took five minutes to kill over a dozen Level 20 Demon Beasts.
’If he had been three minutes faster... that means two minutes?’
’Could Fang Xiu really kill over a dozen Level 20 Demon Beasts in just two minutes?’
Even if Fang Xiu’s current Level was higher than these Demon Beasts,
anyone with combat experience knew that not even a Level 30 Awakened could kill that many Demon Beasts in two minutes!
But Fang Xiu could.
Even now, he had only taken five minutes.
That alone was enough to astonish everyone.
Previously, some had thought that Fang Xiu’s Slaying of a Level 40 boss at Level 15 must have involved some kind of trickery.
Or that there was some other secret involved.
But now, they were starting to believe that Fang Xiu had done it with his own strength.
It might be incredibly difficult for others, but for Fang Xiu, it no longer seemed impossible.
...
"Fang Xiu, thank you!"
At that moment, the three people who had been rescued finally snapped out of their daze and hurriedly thanked Fang Xiu.
For them, over a dozen Level 20 Demon Beasts was an insurmountable force.
If Fang Xiu and his group hadn’t appeared, they might have been swallowed whole by the Demon Beasts by now.
"It’s nothing. But with that fragrance of yours, how did they even agree to let you enter this Gate World for the competition?"
Fang Xiu was curious.
He didn’t know how Principal Xiang had approved it.
After all, the whole thing sounded unbelievable.
"Because... my teacher said that my Talent actually gives me decent combat ability, but I need to constantly participate in battles. I’ve been to Gate Worlds before and always faced Demon Beasts I could handle. I never expected to run into all Level 20 Demon Beasts here, let alone attract so many at once," the girl quickly explained.
Her Talent actually gave her immense combat potential.
But no matter how strong that potential was, it still needed to be honed through experience and constant practice.
That’s why her teacher had her sign up for this.
They hoped she would pass, which would lead to better training and faster improvement of her strength.
Besides, this floral scent could sometimes be useful in battle.
Although it attracted Demon Beasts,
it also came with a very special Passive Skill.
Any Demon Beast that inhales the fragrance will be stunned once every five minutes.
The stun lasts for ten seconds.
For a powerful person, ten seconds is enough time to kill a Demon Beast of the same Level.
She just never expected that this time, the floral scent would be a little too potent.
It had actually attracted so many Demon Beasts.
And they were all higher Level than her.
"This isn’t an ordinary Gate World. It was designed for an assessment, so the Demon Beasts here have random power levels, and their territories haven’t been properly defined. It’s easy to run into powerful ones," Fang Xiu said.
For someone with a special floral scent, that was an extremely dangerous combination.
"Whatever. Since the Demon Beasts are all dealt with now, you have to keep your end of the bargain."
Fang Xiu looked at the girl before him and asked, "What’s your name?"
"Tao Miao!" the girl answered.
"Alright, then. From now on, you’ll follow me. Don’t worry, I won’t make you do anything weird."
Fang Xiu said with a faint smile.
This made Tao Miao a little nervous.
