Chapter 22: This Power Is Off the Charts
Chapter 22: Chapter 22: This Power Is Off the Charts
Fang Xiu had no desire to take two down with him.
He was a young man in the prime of his life; he had no intention of dying here with two other guys.
So, Fang Xiu turned and ran.
He ran in the direction Xia Yunmeng was approaching from.
"Heh heh, do you think you can outrun me?"
Just then, Yu Boyuan’s voice came from behind.
He roared with a twisted grin, "If you get away today, then I’m not the Zefeng Wild Boar!"
"Damn it!"
The moment he heard that, Fang Xiu stopped dead in his tracks.
He couldn’t run. Today, he had to make sure Yu Boyuan’s title of "Zefeng Wild Boar" was set in stone.
The instant Fang Xiu stopped, Yu Boyuan charged right past him.
BANG!
Unable to stop in time, he slammed headfirst into a large Rock.
"Goddammit!"
Yu Boyuan smashed into the Rock with such force that the entire thing cracked apart.
But he stood up as if nothing had happened and turned to face Fang Xiu once more.
’What a hard head!’
Fang Xiu had stopped so abruptly because he knew Yu Boyuan wouldn’t be able to halt his charge at that speed.
But Fang Xiu hadn’t expected that Yu Boyuan would be this formidable after his Beastification.
’If that Cyan Flame Wolf Rabbit had a head this hard, I wouldn’t have been able to kill it with a single stone.’
"Heh heh, you can’t escape now."
Yu Boyuan stood up, glaring at Fang Xiu.
Meanwhile, Nie Tai shifted his position to block Fang Xiu’s escape route.
"Is that so? Then I’ll just have to Sacrifice both of you!"
Fang Xiu sighed in resignation.
Still, he had no intention of trading his life for theirs.
’These two aren’t worth it.’
’This guy is strong, but if I can stall for a little longer, maybe I can hold out until the teacher arrives!’
Fang Xiu had made his decision.
"Heh, you think I’ll fall for that again?"
Seeing Fang Xiu Repeating Old Tricks, Yu Boyuan sneered.
Fang Xiu’s antics had left him fuming with humiliation.
"Accelerate!"
Yu Boyuan grunted.
As he spoke, a white light shimmered over his body.
Fang Xiu knew Yu Boyuan had just used a Skill.
Every Profession comes with one innate Skill.
’I don’t know what Yu Boyuan’s Skill is.’
"Heh heh!"
Just then, Yu Boyuan let out a grotesque laugh.
Combined with his giant tusks, the sight was even more disgusting.
Then, Yu Boyuan lowered himself into a charging stance.
With an explosion of Power, he shot forward like a cannonball, hurtling toward Fang Xiu.
’So his Skill increases his speed!’
Fang Xiu hadn’t expected the boar to become so ridiculously fast.
But such an expenditure of energy had to be immense, even for Boyuan.
’I refuse to believe you can keep that up for long!’
Fang Xiu stared at Yu Boyuan.
’I refuse to believe *you* can last long!’
Yu Boyuan stared back at Fang Xiu.
The exact same thought flashed through both their minds.
Just as Yu Boyuan charged in, at the very last second, Fang Xiu spun around, narrowly dodging the Attack.
"Falling Rock!"
But just then, Nie Tai unleashed a Skill.
A massive Rock materialized in the sky and came crashing down on Fang Xiu.
Fang Xiu had just dodged Yu Boyuan’s Attack and had no time to react, instinctively raising his hands to block.
"Huh?"
Just then, Fang Xiu was stunned to find that he had actually caught the Rock—a boulder that had to weigh at least five hundred pounds.
’What the hell?’
Fang Xiu was dumbfounded.
And he wasn’t the only one. Yu Boyuan, who had been about to charge, and Nie Tai were also frozen in shock.
Nie Tai in particular knew exactly how powerful his Falling Rock was.
The first time he’d missed Fang Xiu, it had left a massive crater in the ground.
There was no way a single person should have been able to lift that kind of weight.
Unless they were a Power Awakener.
Even a newly Awakened Power Awakener wouldn’t be able to lift this Rock.
Especially not one that had just fallen from the sky.
’Could it be...’
Just then, Fang Xiu suddenly remembered something.
He had Sacrificed cow dung earlier and received a reward from the Flower God.
The Flower Dew was supposed to strengthen one’s body.
Originally, Fang Xiu had thought "strengthen" meant being strong in a... *certain area*.
But now it seemed it wasn’t just *that*—his entire body had gotten stronger!
"Take it back!"
Realizing his body had grown stronger, Fang Xiu no longer planned to run.
’A Sacrificial Master with Power comparable to a Power Awakener.’
’What was there to fear?’
With a powerful shove, he sent the Rock flying toward Nie Tai.
"Shit!"
Nie Tai was completely unprepared, watching as the Rock was about to crush him.
Yu Boyuan, who was nearby, shot forward in a blur.
He tackled Nie Tai to the ground.
CRASH!
The massive Rock landed right where Nie Tai had been standing.
"For a boar, you’re pretty fast!"
Fang Xiu said with a faint smile, looking at Yu Boyuan.
At these words, fury appeared on Yu Boyuan’s face. "Don’t celebrate too soon. I’ve already reached Level 15, and I have a second Skill!"
Every Awakened receives their first Skill upon their Awakening, which is also known as a Talent Skill.
After reaching Level 10, they can acquire a second Skill.
Of course, this second Skill must be found and absorbed by the individual.
Although Fang Xiu had also reached Level 10, he didn’t have a second Skill yet.
After all, Skills weren’t something you could just pick up and use at random.
You had to choose one that was suitable for you.
Since you could only learn one new Skill every ten levels, each opportunity was incredibly precious.
Fang Xiu had no intention of settling for just any random Skill.
He wanted his second Skill to be an offensive one.
Otherwise, a Sacrificial Master, even a powerful one, was extremely vulnerable without protection.
To put it bluntly, Fang Xiu’s Sacrificial Master Profession was similar to a crafting profession, or perhaps a healer.
It had no self-defense capabilities.
The only difference was that a Sacrificial Master could use Sacrifice on their opponents.
Of course, if the Sacrifice failed, the resulting penalty could be incredibly severe.
Death, or a fate worse than death.
Thus, a Sacrificial Master would only resort to Sacrificing an enemy when they were truly backed into a corner.
After all, Sacrificial Masters wanted to live, too.
It was for this very reason that few people would willingly make an enemy of a Sacrificial Master.
For one, they worried the Sacrificial Master would drag them down in a final, desperate act and simply Sacrifice them.
And nobody wanted to die.
The second reason was that, one day, the Sacrificial Master might make a mistake in a Sacrifice and end up missing an arm or a leg. In more serious cases, they might end up missing three legs.
And in the most serious cases, they’d just die.
Then, their grudge would be settled one way or another.
Therefore, people like Yu Boyuan and his cronies, who actively sought trouble with a Sacrificial Master, were a rare sight indeed.
And now, Yu Boyuan was being forced by a Sacrificial Master to use his second Skill.
