Chapter 571 - Selfishness
Chapter 571: Selfishness
Both He Chen and Chang Ning glanced at the card in Qin Ran’s hand and fell silent.
“Great God, you have no idea how many places I’ve traveled for your card. Fortunately, I still have a reputation in Mauritius.” Slag Dragon chattered endlessly as he looked at her.
Qin Ran indifferently stuffed the card into her pocket, then leaned against the table behind her. With her legs slightly folded, she casually titled at her, her eyes evidently bloodshot. She said with an inexplicable sense of lifelessness, “Thanks. Tell me if you need anything next time.”
“That won’t be necessary. But your card is a little cool, I feel like I’ve seen it before.” Slag Dragon waved his hand.
Beside him, Chang Ning handed him a glass of water and interrupted him. “Slag Dragon, drink.”
“Oh.” Slag Dragon took a sip and continued looking at Qin Ran. “It’s Continent M’s card. What did you do there? I already said that with your power, there’s no way you work alone. I heard you’re going there to learn physics again…”
Qin Ran straightened her back and dug her ears. “I’m going back to Yun Cheng tomorrow.”
“Yun Cheng?” Chang Ning was surprised. He thought Qin Ran wouldn’t leave at this moment.
Qin Ran squinted. “I’m picking up my aunt.”
Since Qin Ling was at Tang Jun’s place in Continent M, she wasn’t worried about him. She was most worried about Ning Wei and Mu Nan, especially since the people who had forced Ning Wei back then were in Yun Cheng.
Ning Wei never once told anyone what she was doing. This was probably a common problem of the Ning family. Even at his deathbed, Ning’er had kept things hidden from Qin Ran.
“Great God, you’re going back to Yun Cheng? I don’t have any order now, let me go with you…” Slag Dragon started.
“No, thanks.” Qin Ran put one hand in her pocket and raised her face slightly, looking a little unapproachable and cool. “If there’s any urgent business, contact me directly.”
“Be careful.” He Chen leaned on the sofa with a faint smile between her eyebrows. “If there’s any problem, just ask me. I’ve been wandering around lately.”
“Okay.” Qin Ran opened the door and left. She waved to them without looking back.
“She just left.” Slag Dragon sat back down and took a sip of water. “Boss Chang Ning, if I go with Lone Wolf, I can fight alongside her and even protect her. I might even get to play the hero saving a damsel in distress…”
“Boss Chang Ning.” He Chen also put down her cup and stood up. “I’ll go back and run the news first.”
“Okay.” Chang Ning waved at her.
He Chen picked up her coat and directly left.
“Sigh… Wait.” Slag Dragon turned to her. “Aren’t the five of us supposed to drink together?”
“Who would believe that you’re Slag Dragon?” Chang Ning gave him a complicated look.
…
After leaving 129’s headquarters, Qin Ran went to the Xu family directly.
She told the Xu family that she was leaving for a few days.
She didn’t expect to see Second Uncle Xu.
Pausing, Second Uncle Xu then bowed to her. “Miss Qin, the Xu family owes it to you this time.”
Qin Ran shook her head and avoided his bow.
“Have you finished the business in Continent M?” Qin Ran wasn’t very concerned about the business matters. She had only given the Xu family the Research Institute’s research results.
“Yes.” Second Uncle Xu poured tea for her and smiled slightly. “It’s all thanks to Miss Qin. Otherwise, our business talk wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.”
“Yes.” Butler Xu also nodded. “The Xu family has stabilized considerably now.”
“That’s good.” Qin Ran took a sip of tea and bid them farewell before turning to Qing Lin. “Come with me.”
Qing Lin directly followed her.
Butler Xu sent them off.
After she left, Second Uncle Xu stared after Qing Lin’s back. “Who is that?”
“Mr. Qing Lin.” Xu Yaoguang put down his teacup and glanced at Second Uncle Xu. “Without him, the Xu family wouldn’t have stabilized.”
Second Uncle Xu remained silent and paused for a moment. “Young Master Xu, don’t you feel like… The Xu family’s sense of existence is getting lower and lower. Even Butler Xu only listens to Miss Qin, and Qing Lin is the exact same as well. She’s so revered in the Xu family, but everyone has their selfish reasons…”
“Don’t talk nonsense.” Xu Yaoguang stood up directly and frowned. “Forget about whatever you heard from someone else. There’s no next time. Otherwise, with my authority in the house, I’ll chase you out of the family.”
Xu Yaoguang’s expression was cold and imposing as he put down his teacup again.
Second Uncle Xu lowered his head. “Yes.”
…
Qin Ran returned to Yun Cheng on the second day.
Cheng Mu followed her as usual.
Cheng Juan sent her off to the airport.
He stood at the gate and only moved his eyebrows when the plane took off.
“Boss.” Cheng Shui stood beside him. “We should go back.”
It wasn’t until the plane disappeared from view that Cheng Juan looked away. He turned around, and the only warmth on his face faded. “Have you followed her?”
“At this point, Cheng Tu and Cheng Jin should have reached Yun Cheng,” Cheng Shui said. He was about to say something else but decided against it.
Cheng Juan nodded. “Good.”
At the same time.
Yunguang Consortium’s headquarters.
Lu Zhixin was sitting in the office typing out codes while communicating with Qin Corporation’s Ah Hai about the next cooperation policy.
Qin Ran had already established the general direction.
Someone knocked on the door and came in without waiting for an answer.
Pushing his glasses, Lu Zhixin squinted silently at the door.
It was Old Master Yang. Lu Zhixin stood up and greeted him respectfully. “Old Master Yang, what brings you here?”
He sounded slightly surprised.
The IT department of the Yunguang Consortium was basically brought up by Qin Ran and Lu Zhixin. Old Master Yang and Yang Shuyan had no control over it.
Sitting opposite Lu Zhixin, Ah Hai heard the greeting and immediately stood up. He looked behind him and greeted even more respectfully. “Chairman Yang!”
His tone sounded even a little frightened. This was the Yunguang Consortium’s big boss, a big figure he could never meet.
“Are you talking about the four-dimensional search engine?” Old Master Yang smiled and put his hands behind him.
“Yes.” With Lu Zhixin’s keen sense, he listened to Old Master Yang’s tone and frowned slightly, feeling something was wrong.
“Then, there’s no need.” Old Master Yang looked humbly at Ah Hai. “The Yunguang Consortium has unilaterally terminated the contract.”
