Lord Xue Ying

Chapter 26 – Escape

Book 10: Chapter 26 – Escape

“What!” The four teams were all shocked at the sight of the battle unfolding before their very eyes. It was too fast! A short while ago, they still thought Xue Ying was unable to handle Lord You Lan, but the situation had changed so quickly! The Xia Clan had decided they would rather pay the hefty price required to have Battleship D9 strike again, and then Xue Ying’s frightening spear attack followed right after. Lord You Lan managed to dodge the first attack, but he failed to avoid the second.

“He won’t die, right?” Everyone stared in rapt attention; Lord You Lan was a Demigod with power comparable to the Deity realm. Could he die just like that?

Inside Battleship D9, the Xia Clan Transcendents watched with trepidation.

“No!” Lord You Lan felt waves caused by the Profound Mystery of Destruction blasting through him, wrecking his demonic body in the process. In but an instant, his skull was smashed into oblivion.

Even so, the attack had barely managed to destroy the skull alone; the rest of the black-skinned body below the neck remained in good condition!

What was left of his figure immediately fell back into an explosive retreat!

As he moved backwards, Lord You Lan’s body quickly grew a new skull from the stump of his neck. His demonic body was even more formidable than General Ku Meng’s, and if it were to expand, it would reach upwards a terrifying height of a hundred fifty kilometers! This meant his arm alone could easily reach a length of over five kilometers. By comparison, such a body was genuinely close to that of the great Demonic God!

But his skull was nonetheless completely crushed after a single strike!

With attacks like this, my Demonic Body will be obliterated in less than ten strikes. Having survived the calamity, a wave of dread still lingered in Lord You Lan’s heart. The newly grown head’s face displayed a pale complexion.

He felt it.

Some mysterious sort of poison was spreading rapidly through his body. Not even his fierceful body comparable to that of a Demonic God was capable of hindering the spread of this poison. It pervaded and corroded every part of him, even reaching down to the depths of his Devil Sea, where he cultivated dark magic power. There, the poison continued all the same and even began to affect the revolving of his Devil Sea.

Soon, this poison, which permeated everything down to a fundamental particle level, spread through his brain.

Aaaaaah! A terrible pain overcame him, the sort of which Lord You Lan had never felt before. Throughout his life in the Dark Abyss, he had experienced and fought through countless dangers, yet a pain of this intensity caught even him unprepared.

It was the sort of pain which transcended the physical body, causing even the spirit to tremble.

“AAAAHHH!” In his pain, Lord You Lan bellowed a roar of rage. His complexion was sinister, and he seemed to have turned mad.

“It’s a Hexing Poison, Six Ghosts Resentment!” Lord You Lan’s roar was filled with boundless hatred and killing intent. His voice reverberated throughout the heavens and over the earth.

“What?!”

The four teams, as well as the Xia Clan Transcendents who were watching the battle from within Battleship D9, were shocked at this sight! They had all heard Lord You Lan’s roar of pain and grudging roar and witnessed the pain he felt!

“So it was the Six Ghosts Resentment Poison.”

“Yes. He must be Dong Bo Xue Ying then. His body is already inflicted with the hexing poison, so he must have been planning from the start to smear some of it on his weapon to use in the midst of battle. He is certainly vicious.”

“I pity Lord You Lan. Being poisoned with the Six Ghosts Resentment? From what I’ve heard, that hexing poison is unbearably painful.”

“So ruthless. He really has no mercy.”

Every member of the four teams sympathized with Lord You Lan to some degree, due to his strength. He had dared to threaten the Xia Clan with his time-decelerating True Meaning, and he might have even succeeded, had his luck not been so poor. But the Xia Clan sent out Xue Ying, whose incredible talent had sent Lord You Lan into dire straits.

……

In spite of the incomparable pain, Lord You Lan’s heart was calm, for he knew he was in a life-or-death situation!

This Six Ghosts Resentment…is just a diluted version which had accumulated in his blood. It’s already much weaker than the original. It might be a powerful hexing poison, but I can resist it with the regeneration ability of my Demonic Body. The only thing I find rather troublesome is that it’s already entered my internal Devil Sea, which means that I’ll only be able to cultivate with half efficiency now, Lord You Lan determined.

This was normal.

Even the Six Ghosts Resentment Xue Ying was inflicted with was not the true original, but a version with only half the original strength which was carried by the Sorcerer God’s sword.

Back when Xue Ying was first struck by the sword, his body’s recovery ability was sufficient to fight off the damage caused by the poison. The successive strike following that attack was what really caused the end result.

While every part of Xue Ying’s body now contained Six Ghosts Resentment, it was just a diluted version, weaker even that the Sorcerer God’s Sword by a whole level.

After all, it would be impossible that some blood which was afflicted with Six Ghosts Resentment, upon being taken outside the body, would be identical to the original Six Ghosts Resentment. Otherwise, one could simply make an infinite amount of the poison! It was simply not possible.

As such, the hexing poison within Xue Ying’s blood was weaker than the poison coating the Sorcerer God’s Sword by a grade.

After the poison entered his Demonic Body, Lord You Lan was easily able resist its corrosive power. His cultivation speed of Dark Magic Power was affected, but that was the extent of the damage. But the most important thing was…that the poison still caused pain!

This hexing poison is greatly weakened, but it’s still too painful! I don’t have to spare much effort to keep my calm, but at this rate, I might easily get afflicted with more of it as I keep fighting Xue Ying! Lord You Lan’s willpower was strong, but compared to Xue Ying’s, who had suffered every day and night for a hundred years, his was still down a notch.

Thankfully, the hexing poison was just a diluted form, so he could keep fighting.

I have to escape!

I can’t keep going like this; I can’t even hold an absolute focus right now! Suffering from this hellish torment, Lord You Lan’s expression turned fierce. A thought crossed his mind, and he instantly made his decision.

Without even a hint of hesitation in his movements, Lord You Lan summoned a blood-colored scroll in his hand.

Si la~

He tore it apart!

Weng!

A layer of bizarre, red-colored light formed on the surface of his body, spreading until it covered him in its entirety. This was precisely one of the life-saving Deity scrolls he had brought over from the Dark Abyss. Dark Magic power was a refined sort of force—it could be used to battle like a transcendent knight, to cast spells, operate scrolls, and so on.

Transcendent knights by the like of Xue Ying had no way of operating scrolls like these.

“Run!” Lord You Lan immediately transformed into flowing light and began to flee in disarray! He still had not found a way to block Xue Ying’s spear, so he had to rely on the scroll’s power to flee. He didn’t dare taste the flavor of Xue Ying’s spear once more. After all, not only would his injuries worsen with each attack that landed, the poison would also accumulate and increase the pain he had to endure!

He had no intention to accept either of the two results.

The actions were slow to describe, but in reality, it only took an instant after Lord You Lan was struck by the spear and felt the frightening poison for him to make his decision, tear the scroll, and flee!

“Trying to flee?” Just how fast was Xue Ying inside the Mirage? Using his Extreme Penetration, he could traverse five hundred kilometers in a moment! No matter how fast Lord You Lan ran, he couldn’t exceed this speed.

Hua.

Lord You Lan flew away with all his might.

His speed was really something to behold, worthy of being compared to a Demonic God’s corporeal body. After his body turned into the golden light which could ignore air resistance, he reached a terrifying speed of five hundred kilometers per second—even faster than the Third Priest of the Demonic God’s Sect when he used the shadow image. After all, Lord You Lan was comparable to a Demonic God not just in terms of his body; even the depths of his laws and Profound Mysteries were close to that of a Demonic God.

But no matter how fast he ran, inside the Mirage, Xue Ying could easily keep up.

“Die.” A spear struck from nothingness.

Hong! Lord You Lan kept relying on his speed to flee, and nearly all his attention was focused on his surroundings. In spite of the pain he felt, he kept his head cool and managed to divert all of his might to defend against this attack.

He managed to block the dangerous strike.

Xue Ying was unfazed. He continued chasing and launching attacks.

Over ten seconds and a distance of five thousand kilometers, Lord You Lan kept fleeing while Xue Ying struck time and time again. A total of nine attacks landed on Lord You Lan’s body, but the defensive power provided by the blood-colored light covering it was quite powerful! These nine strikes actually didn’t even manage to shatter it, only dimming it significantly instead, which didn’t surprise Xue Ying.

Back then, he suffered a lot from the attacks launched by the Sorcerer God’s Sword, despite the Profound Mysteries commanded by Great Elder Ao Lan being comparatively weak. But the Sorcerer God’s Sword more than made up with its might. Even after being weakened by the green-armored protector, its strength was still at the level of the Deity realm. Even so, the sword also needed ten strikes to break through the Purple Lightning Shield!

The power of Lord You Lan’s protective scroll shouldn’t be inferior to the Purple Lightning Shield I used in the past and is likely to be even stronger. The power of my strikes should be comparable to the Sorcerer God’s Sword after passing through the Green-Armored Protector, but my Star Meteor Annihilation is more powerful in terms of Profound Mystery, and its destructive power is higher than Greater Ao Lan’s attacks. The light should shatter in three to five strikes, Xue Ying thought.

Si la!

Upon leaving the range of the seal on space, Lord You Lan immediately ripped open a tunnel in space and attempted to flee as fast as possible.

Hong! Xue Ying’s spear appeared out of thin air and struck Lord You Lan while he was still inside the spatial tunnel.

In regards to speed.

The spatial tunnel was reflected identically in the Mirage, so the assault continued!

“Follow them!” Wu Ma Hai and the rest of the four teams chased after them in quick succession by following the fluctuations of the spatial tunnel. They were easily able to keep up with the battlers.

“Damn!” The Demigods inside Battleship D9 were unhappy with this outcome.

“Once the Battleship goes into full-speed flight, it can no longer seal space off, nor can it continue to attack.” Mountain Lord He’s head began to ache from the feeling of helplessness. This situation was akin to how a mortal would find it nigh impossible to paint a picture while running at full-speed, or how weaker Transcendent mages could not easily clear their minds and use magic properly when running at high speeds. By this same principle, Mountain Lord He’s realm was simply too low—once the battleship began moving at high speeds, he was unable to conduct it to launch attacks.

Only when it stood in place or flew extremely slowly could it seal space or carry out attacks.

“We’ll also follow,” Palace Head Chen said.

Mountain Lord He nodded his head. “Good.”

As soon as it released the seal on space, Battleship D9 immediately followed the fluctuations of Lord You Lan’s previous space tunnel and chased alongside their direction.

His Extreme Penetration allows him to be even faster than me. Flying inside the spatial tunnel, Lord You Lan suffered further attacks from Xue Ying’s spear. He was very aggrieved at the situation, but he knew there was nothing to be done; each True Meaning had its own specialties. Of his two grade two True Meanings, one excelled in offensive power, and the other, Time Deceleration, was of the domain type. Unfortunately, unlike the Meishan Master’s complete True Meaning of Space, Lord You Lan’s Time Deceleration couldn’t penetrate the Mirage..

Not good. I have to switch this shield. Lord You Lan quickly realized that his protective layer of blood-colored light was on its last legs. Damn this pain!

Had he been able to focus completely, he could block these attacks, but the hexing poison was simply too painful!

Not only could he not maintain absolute focus, he could barely even keep himself cool-headed.

“Hm?”

Inside the Mirage, Xue Ying was following closely behind inside the same tunnel in space when he suddenly furrowed his brows. His spatial tunnel leads to Crimson Rock Mountain?

Lord You Lan couldn’t maintain the same speed inside the spatial tunnel because of the obstruction of invisible Laws. This tunnel had already penetrated into the ground and was continuously slanted. According to its direction… it seemed to lead directly towards the location of Crimson Rock Mountain which the Black Wind Ancestor had left behind for Xue Ying on the detailed map.
