Yang Ling managed to see-through the illusions by depending upon his powerful Divine Consciousness, and his understanding of Restrictions. This was why he managed to lead the crowd at his highest speed toward the Burning Fire Elf Tribe.
If average people got caught in an Illusion Formation, they would either be unable to move even by a single step, or would walk around for a long time without making headway. But Yang Ling was able to find a way to decipher it in a short time.
As Yang Ling learned more about this strange desert, he became sure that this was a Restriction with a shockingly large scope.
Was there a connection unbeknown to people between the ancient wizards and the underground tomb?
After Yang Ling passed through an Illusion Formation made out of the sand, he got even more doubts about this matter. The illusion formed by the desert was too similar to the overlapping Illusion Formations in his own Restrictions, and the sole difference between them was that this one had a scope larger by several tens folds.
The confused Yang Ling sped up, as he hoped to quickly find the secret of the Restriction’s rear region.
Yang Ling’s objective behind leaving the sea and traveling for ten thousand miles was finding the ancient wizards’ ruins, which were outside the sea, and since he had now found some trails, he surely wouldn’t let such a rare chance slip by.
He had a strong premonition that this underground tomb wasn’t so simple, and it wasn’t limited to what was just told in the legend.
The legend stated that the ancient wizards were terrifying beings that could contend against Gods and Devils, and after they disappeared, the Tree Shepherd and Ancient Summoners who only got a part of the ancient wizards’ inheritance also possessed great power.
If he could smoothly find the ancient wizards’ ruins, as well as the secret behind their disappearance, he might probably get many benefits, and he might even find a way to go back to Earth.
As Yang Ling mastered more Wizard Spells, and grew stronger, he felt even more how strong and boundless were Wizard Spells, and even until this day, he didn’t know where did the mysterious Wizard Pagoda come from, and he didn’t know why it brought him into this continent of swords and magic.
Even though Yang Ling practiced until he became a powerful high-grade Divine Wizard, he still didn’t know what was the secret recorded in the 5th, 6th, and 7th floors of the Wizard Pagoda, and he didn’t know what kind of power he would get once he advanced into Soul Wizard’s stage, or practiced until he became a Wizard Deity.
He also didn’t know what kind of road awaited him once he advanced into the Wizard Deity Stage.
Tailun Continent was obviously a continent filled with mysteries, and it wasn’t like Earth. It had many dazzling magical spells, and Internal Energy-like Battle Energy, as well as powerful Magical Beasts. There were also many beauties of other races.
Yang Ling preferred more his marvelous life here over his previous 9 to 5 routine job’s life.
However, once he woke up at midnight, and got to see the dazzling stars that filled the sky, he would recall his previous life, and how he played all night World of Warcraft, Star Wars, and other games. While he would recall how he called over his bros, and went clubbing.
Even though he couldn’t return to his previous life, he still hoped to go back to visit his family, and see his previous bros. He wanted to see his old parents!
Even though Tailun Continent was better, his roots were on Earth. Both poor and rich Chinese immigrants that lived overseas for dozens of years would wish to go back one day to visit their homeland, and this was also the case for Yang Ling.
“Your Lordship, are you sure that the Burning Fire Elf Tribe is ahead.”
The crowd had run around for a long time, yet they still could only see a boundless desert. This was why a big-nosed Templar got impatient, and he looked suspiciously at Yang Ling that was in a daze.
“I remember that it’s stated in the Church’s Holy Bible: Child, don’t let your eyes deceive your mind.” Yang Ling looked at the big-nosed templar, and revealed a faint smile. “If you can’t see something, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. However, if you suspect my Detection Spell, and you are hell-bent on going back to wait for your death, I won’t obstruct you.”
“You!”
Upon hearing Yang Ling use the Holy Bible to call him a child, the impatient big-nosed templar got angry. He had trained in the Divine Hall for around a thousand years, and he didn’t expect that after staying in seclusion for several hundred years, he would end up called a child by a youngster such as Yang Ling.
In the past two days, their team was first attacked by a large group of Undead Creatures, and they suffered disastrous casualties, before being stranded by the Burning Fire Elves’ strange desert.
Even if his power was stronger, he couldn’t use it, and he was already fed up with this. He had walked around on the scalding desert for a long time, yet he still didn’t get to see a single person, and he became more irritated. Now, he was provoked by Yang Ling, and he flew into a rage. This was why he took out a sharp crescent blade.
“Humph, lower your weapon. If we end up alerting the Burning Fire Elves due to your actions, I won’t mind to burn you to ashes with fire.”
As Yang Ling looked at the impulsive and rude big-nosed man, he was still unmoved, but Faern stepped forward bravely, and scolded the man.
Even though a boundless desert was still in front of his eyes, and Faern couldn’t see the Burning Fire Elf Tribe, but he was an apex Domain Fire Spellcaster, and he could detect that the Fire Magical Element’s ripples were becoming more intense, while he could also detect the Burning Fire Elves’ distinctive Soul Ripples. If he didn’t guess wrong, the Burning Fire Elf’s tribe wasn’t far away from them any longer.
“God said that you mustn’t let your eyes deceive your mind, but he also said that you mustn’t let your anger and hatred deceived your eyes.” Elder Brown stepped forward to stop the impulsive big-nosed man, before he cast a meaningful glance at Yang Ling.
Did this old man see through my plan, and understood that they suffered Undead Army’s attack in their journey because he was pulling strings in the dark?
Yang Ling still wore the same expression as usual as he looked at Elder Brown that was near him, and he turned around to continue showing the way, while he schemed inwardly, and was thinking about how he could get rid of all members of the Church while paying the lowest price possible for it.
Since he couldn’t resolve the feud between them, then he must go through this, as the first person to strike would gain the upper hand.
The crowd led by Yang Ling continued proceeding onward, and after they walked for another hour, the temperature started rising further, while the strange desert was still in front of their eyes. The Fire Magical Element in the air was becoming more intense, while they would feet a sharp pain once their feet stepped upon the scalding sand. It was like they ended up inadvertently coming into a volcano’s crater.
“The Burning Fire Elf Tribe is ahead of us. Everyone, be careful!”
After Yang Ling warned the crowd, he took a deep breath, and started reading silently his Wizard Mantra, while he weaved hand signs with both hands.
After a short while, the crowd discovered that the land ahead of them started shining brightly, and they returned back to the depression that was filled with steles. There was a mumbling Burning Fire Elf in front of every stele, while there was a burning Smelting Pond in the center of the depression.
A group of Burning Fire Elves was walking around the pond, and they clasped their hands in front of their chests, while they mumbled something. It was like they were praying, yet it was also like they were joining hands to cast a large-scale spell.
“Hurry up, they are getting ready to cast Flame Sea Spell once again. You should kill them all, hurry up.”
Upon hearing the words uttered by the Burning Fire Elves, Elder Faern’s expression changed drastically, and he shouted, while he attacked ahead of others. He had instantly launched a series of explosive fireballs, and quickly killed several Burning Fire Elves in front of the steles.
Afterward, Faern started mumbling in measured tones, and he got ready to cast a large-scale fire spell.
Elder Faern acted quickly, and this was also the case for the Church, Dark Association, and other factions. They had also responded quickly.
As a ‘swooshing’ sound echoed, the knights and warriors started dispersing all around, and they attacked the Burning Fire Elves in front of steles. As for the Spellcasters that accompanied them, they either cast Agility Boosting Spells, or used Ice Cones and Wind Blades to attack. They had instantly cast a series of low-grade spells, and killed a large batch of Burning Fire Elves.
After the Spellcasters had done so, they started mumbling slowly, and got ready to cast a large-scale spell with great power.
Ah!
The Burning Fire Elves were caught unprepared, and many of them that were chanting incantations let out miserable screams, and fell down while they still wore a look filled with disbelief. None of them had imagined that the factions would manage to break through the Burning Fire Formation and reach the land where the tribe was hiding.
The Burning Fire Elves’ Fire Spells reached perfection, while they also had high flying speed. If they could set formations properly, and attack, they would possess shocking destructive power. But it was a pity that the people they run into were the elite among the elites in the great factions.
If Stuart’s subordinates, the golden knights, were considered meat grinder, then the Church’s Templar Warriors were like soul harvesters. As the Light Templar used great serpentine-shaped lightning bolts as a support, the Templar Warriors used invisibility spell, and started slaughtering the flustered Burning Fire Elves, and every time their blades’ shone, a head would fall on the ground.
In the twinkling of an eye, tens Burning Fire Elves that were caught unprepared were killed by the Templar Warriors.
Wail!
The crowd had mounted a sneak-attack, and the Burning Fire Elves, who were unprepared, were utterly defeated. However, when the crowd was about to exterminate all elves, a deafening roar echoed from the Smelting Pond, while a red-eyed person burning with flames came out of the flames.
When Yang Ling observed the guy carefully, he discovered that he was the terrifying Burning Fire Elf King.
“Sinners who intruded into the tomb, you should offer your blood and your souls to the great Barton. You should all die!” The Burning Fire Elf King opened his mouth, and spouted out flames that turned into explosive fireballs.
Tens knights and Spellcasters couldn’t dodge the flames in time, and they were roasted by them.
However, a scarier sight appeared later, and it could be seen that after the Burning Fire Elf King mumbled something, the charred corpses exploded, and let out a rumbling noise. The corpses emitted many airwaves, as well as purple flames, and everywhere the airwaves passed by, the people’s blood would go up to their heads, and they would get a dizzy spell.
Moreover, if people ended up inadvertently coming in touch with the purple flames, they wouldn’t be able to extinguish them once again, and in the twinkling of an eye, they would be burned to ashes by them.
It was the Corpse Explosion, and it was still the terrifying Fire Explosion, wasn’t it?
It could be seen that even two powerful Dark Templars couldn’t make a narrow escape, and they were quickly burned to ashes by the purple flames.
Yang Ling was shocked greatly. Even though the Corpse Wizard King’s Corpse Explosion also possessed great might, but the Burning Fire Elf King’s attack was crueler, and it also possessed greater might.
“Youngster, come over here. Hurry up!”
When Yang Ling turned pale with fright, and was about to summon the Magical Beast Army, he suddenly heard an archaic voice reverberating in his soul, and when he carefully observed the surroundings, he discovered that the voice unexpectedly came from the burning Smelting Pond.
A white-robed old man could be faintly seen among the purple flames that rushed up to the sky. He was sitting cross-legged on the ground with his hands lowered, as if he was meditating among the flames, or as if he was casting a Spell.
The shocking flames were spreading at times, and retracting at others, and they emitted horrifying heat waves that contained berserk energy. But the old man was unexpectedly still safe and sound, and this was an unimaginable matter.
Huh, Dark Sand Badge? In the historical records of the female pirate Margaret’s tribe, it was stated that the Second Elder, who was a God-Level Expert, was training in meditation in the Amazon Forests. Could it be that it was this old man?
When Yang Ling saw inadvertently the Dark Sand Badge on the white-robed old man’s waist, he was shocked, and he recalled the legend of Margaret’s tribe.
