Lord: I Grind EXP with Warband Panel

Chapter 488 - 228: Tiger Race Gnolls (Part 2)

Chapter 488: Chapter 228: Tiger Race Gnolls (Part 2)

Most people still couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

They were seeing their own kind hunting down and killing their Tiger Race masters? The Tiger Race masters were actually kneeling before Jackal Wolfmen, begging for mercy?

The world must have gone mad!

Today, the worldviews of many Jackal Wolfmen were utterly shattered.

But this was precisely what Robson wanted.

Affleck was situated on the border between the Beastman Empire and the Frank Kingdom, and this was even more the case now with the addition of Julian Province.

In Robson’s plans, he was determined to bleed the Beastman Empire dry over the long term, especially in the first decade after the war between the Beastman Empire and the Frank Kingdom concluded!

That would be precisely when the Beastman Empire was at its weakest.

Robson’s method was to use these Jackal Wolfman Warriors to make the lower-class races rise up and oppose the so-called Royal Families.

Of course, the Beastman Grassland was vast. Robson couldn’t possibly do this everywhere, and he didn’t have enough slots on his system panel.

Robson only wanted to realize his ambitions on his own turf on the eastern front.

To make these lower-class races rise up, he had to shatter the rose-tinted glasses through which they viewed the Royal Families.

And the way to shatter it? Naturally, it was to have them do it themselves.

Robson used the Jackal Wolfmen as the main force to attack the Tiger Race camp.

First, it was to preserve the human army’s combat effectiveness, allowing them to rest and build up their strength. Under the military merit system, if the warriors went too long without a fight, they would grow restless. Their morale on the battlefield would actually be higher when they were finally deployed.

Second, it was to shatter that perception.

Barring any surprises, Robson would likely use these Jackal Wolfmen to stir up turmoil throughout the entire eastern Beastman Grassland.

Of course, he, Lord Robson, always pursued a cautious and steady approach.

Although he had the Jackal Wolfmen act as the main force, Claude’s Cavalry Team was, in fact, just ten li away, ready to ride in at a moment’s notice.

It was just that these Tiger Race people’s scouting was so pathetic they hadn’t even noticed. And yet, they still dared to charge out of their camp to face him, Lord Robson, head-on.

.....

The battle ended quickly. Robson landed, still mounted on Everton.

Seeing Robson land, Claude, Valentino, and Turalyon immediately led their troops toward him.

Then, the group started heading toward the pasture.

At this moment, having driven off the Tiger Race people, the Jackal Wolfman chiefs who had served the Centaur Royal Court and those from the Tiger Race Royal Court’s territory were conversing passionately.

Despite being enslaved by the Tiger Race people for so long, what sentient race would be willing to be trampled underfoot?

Chief Aido had witnessed the ferocity of the Jackal Wolfman Warriors before him. His face filled with admiration, he went to find their leader.

Due to Robson’s prior orders, upon hearing that a local Jackal Wolfman chief wished for an audience, Chief Kadama immediately dropped what he was doing to meet with Chief Aido.

As the first Jackal Wolfman tribe to follow Robson, the Kadama Tribe had naturally reaped the greatest rewards.

Now, the more than three hundred able-bodied youths of his tribe were all registered on Robson’s system panel, and Chief Kadama himself had become the commander of a legion composed entirely of Tier Five Jackal-Wolfman Legion.

Among the various non-human armies, he was subtly becoming the second-in-command. The top commander was, of course, Chief Dor, and above them all was Robson himself.

This was also Robson’s way of doing things—he generally liked to systematize and formalize everything.

Chief Kadama had just met with Chief Aido and was about to preach to him about the righteous ideology of the great Great Power Envoy and Liberator of the Jackal Wolfmen, Lord Robson, when a panicked Jackal Wolfman rushed before Chief Aido.

"Chief! A large number of humans have appeared in front of the camp!"

Hearing this, the expressions of both Chief Kadama and Chief Aido changed.

Chief Aido noticed that the surrounding Jackal Wolfmen seemed to be shaken by the news.

"The Great Power Envoy has arrived!" Chief Kadama shouted.

"’The Great Power Envoy?’" Chief Aido was bewildered.

Chief Kadama explained it to him.

Chief Aido’s face was a mask of shock.

"The Great Power Envoy? A human!"

Chief Aido felt that the things he had seen today were more absurd than anything he had witnessed in the past twenty years.

Chief Kadama said no more. He began directing his troops to prepare for Robson’s arrival.

Chief Aido looked at the surrounding Jackal Wolfman Warriors.

He saw that the Jackal Wolfman Warriors, who had been so ferocious against the Tiger Race, now wore expressions of pure adoration. Thousands of warriors quickly began to form up in their ranks, and many of the brawniest Jackal Wolfmen were shouting loudly.

It seemed they were preparing to welcome someone.

’What are these Jackal Wolfmen doing? Shouldn’t they be looting the spoils left behind by the Tiger Race people?’

Chief Kadama pulled Chief Aido to his side and led him to the camp entrance.

In the distance, a human detachment gradually came into view, mounted on tall, powerful horses. They were an imposing sight.

Chief Aido’s heart trembled at the sight of these humans.

Although Chief Aido hadn’t been on a battlefield many times, anyone with a brain could see the power of the army before him. They were undoubtedly far more formidable than the motley crew under General Karl!

’Chief Aido thought of Chief Kadama and made a silent comparison. Could Chief Kadama’s army defeat them?’

If Chief Kadama knew what Chief Aido was thinking, he probably would have broken out in a cold sweat.

In the eyes of the Jackal Wolfmen, Robson was the Great Power Envoy, and the soldiers beside him were the Great Power’s Celestial Soldiers. Celestial Soldiers were invincible.

"Chief Kadama, those humans are almost here."

"That is the Great Power Envoy," Kadama reminded him.

Chief Aido was speechless. ’He wanted to say, ’The humans are about to attack! Are you going to retreat or fight back?’’

Then, Chief Aido experienced his third shock of the day. The surrounding Jackal Wolfman Warriors neither advanced to fight nor retreated. Instead, they slung their weapons at their waists and cleared a wide path down the middle. Each one stood with their head held high and chest puffed out, like soldiers awaiting inspection.

’Huh?’ Chief Aido simply could not comprehend this maneuver.

’Could it be... that these Jackal Wolfmen are allied with the humans?’ The thought struck Chief Aido as absurd. He had asked that Centaur Warrior earlier, and the warrior had only spoken of matters concerning the Bloodthirsty Royal City, never mentioning any humans.

Chief Aido’s doubts didn’t last long. The human cavalry drew closer. At their head was a tall, blond human male. Chief Aido wasn’t human, so he found it difficult to judge the man’s appearance.

However, charisma was universal. Watching the human noble from afar, Chief Aido was reminded of the Tiger Race king he had once been fortunate enough to glimpse. He had only seen that king from a distance, too.

This moment was just like that one; both figures brought a single word to Chief Aido’s mind: Leader!

Chief Aido had once been a servant to the Tiger Race Royal Family in the Royal City. He had only happened to overhear the word during an idle chat between two Tiger Race people.

What Chief Aido didn’t realize was that this feeling was largely influenced by the elite cavalry behind the human noble and the deferential attitude of the Jackal Wolfman Warriors surrounding them.

He simply felt that if anyone could lead these ridiculously powerful Jackal Wolfmen, it was this human before him.

.....

Robson was unaware that the image of him riding toward them had left an indelible impression on the hearts of many Jackal Wolfmen.

’Even if he did know, he would have just laughed it off. Leader’s charisma? If he, Lord Robson, had an Extraordinary Corps a million strong, the Holy See itself would declare him the reincarnation of a Saint, bearing the very grace of the Lord of Dawn.’

’So-called charisma is merely a byproduct of power.’

"Great Power Envoy! We have completed your mission!"

Seeing Robson arrive, Chief Kadama approached him excitedly.

At these words, Robson nodded, then pointed to Chief Dor at his side—or more precisely, to Clan Leader Hall, who was perched on Chief Dor’s shoulder.

"This is Clan Leader Hall. He is very important to me. I need you to coordinate with him and help him accomplish his task."

Hearing this, Clan Leader Hall thanked him once more.

"How are things with the local Jackal Wolfmen?" Robson asked.
