Chapter 312 - 70: Final Victory (3)
Chapter 312: Chapter 70: Final Victory (3)
The Gnolls were Light Infantry to begin with. With their formations broken and their fighting spirit scattered, they were utterly crushed by the hundreds of human Heavy Cavalry.
In an instant, the entire Beastman Camp became a scene of gore, and the ceaseless, agonizing screams of the Gnolls filled the air.
The Human Corps paused only for a moment before plunging straight through the Gnoll formation.
"For the kingdom! For His Majesty! Charge!"
"For the kingdom..."
"Quick, charge! Stop them!"
...
Sand and dust swirled across the battlefield as the Human Corps advanced triumphantly. At this point, the Gnolls were no match for them at all.
Many Gnoll captains were still shouting, trying to stabilize their troops’ formation, but in the face of the Heavy Cavalry, it was all in vain.
"Where’s the Chieftain?!"
"In the sky! That strange bird is flying over again!"
"These devils..."
Many Gnolls were still trying their best to hold the line, but their will broke when Chief Fedor was sent flying by a thrust of Robson’s spear, and the silvery-white bird dove from the sky, clearing an entire section of the Gnoll army with a gout of flame.
"Just run..."
....
"Those humans! They’re charging over again!"
"It’s them!"
"Even His Highness Prince was defeated by them before."
Prince Odoruo looked back over his shoulder.
He had thought the Gnoll formation could hold out for a while, but he never expected these humans to be so swift.
"It’s those humans again... Your Highness, what do we do now?!" Castro asked, his eyes filled with terror as he watched the human Cavalry charging from the distance.
Prince Odoruo frowned at Castro’s behavior, then glanced at Tec. Even the warlike Tec was swallowing nervously.
Clearly, morale had completely collapsed, from the commanders down to the troops.
"They haven’t reached us yet. The humans on Wayne Mountain are tied up and won’t be able to break free for a while. No matter how formidable the enemy is, they’ll need time to break through our formation."
"We need to take this chance to retreat immediately! We’ll circle around and charge north!" Prince Odoruo said.
"Take off your armor and give it to your Personal Guards!"
......
"Humans, those humans are charging!"
"Look at that strange bird in the sky!"
Not long after Prince Odoruo and his group retreated, the distant human Cavalry had already charged to the front of the Beastman Army.
At this point, the Beastman Army was in disarray. After Castro and the other Officers had retreated, there was no one left who could command the army.
Huang Na shrieked from above, swooping down and blasting open the Beastmen’s already sparse formation with a gout of flame.
The army instantly fell into chaos.
Robson still had over four hundred Heavy Cavalry behind him. Leading the charge from the very front, he exploited the opening Huang Na had created and plunged straight into the enemy ranks.
If these two thousand Beastmen still had morale and organization, perhaps they could have temporarily held off Robson’s Heavy Cavalry Corps.
But if they had any morale, Prince Odoruo wouldn’t have just fled.
"Look over there! They’re running!"
"The Chieftains are running!"
....
It was unknown who shouted it first, but now the entire Beastman Army was yelling.
At a time like this, any disturbance in the ranks was magnified immensely. No one wanted to die, and the human Heavy Cavalry were simply too terrifying.
"That’s not the Chieftain! The Chieftains have left!
Before long, some of them realized their leaders had been replaced by decoys.
What little morale they had left was now completely gone, and the army began to rout uncontrollably.
The decoys had been swapped in at the last moment, so they had no ability to even temporarily stem the tide of the rout.
More and more Beastmen began to flee. By the time Robson’s Heavy Cavalry charged in, the formation was a complete mess, and only the endless screams of the Beastmen could be heard.
"The Beastman Prince is over there! The Beastman Chieftains are to the west!"
"There are fleeing Beastmen to the west..."
Robson wasn’t even sure if that information came from a human or a Beastman.
Robson looked to the west, and sure enough, another Beastman army was fleeing in that direction.
"Fengman Knight Order! Charge with me!" Robson roared, raising his spear. His personal Cavalry Team had mostly been left behind to deal with the Gnolls; the ones charging at his side now were almost all Fengman Knights.
It couldn’t be helped. This was the difference between the Extraordinary and ordinary men.
"Fengman! I am your sword and shield..."
Hearing Robson’s call, Fengman Knights began to shout their order’s slogan and rally to his side.
’This was an honor reserved for the highest echelons of the family; not even Knight Commander Elon commanded such a response!’
It seemed that after the past few days of battle, the entire Fengman Knight Order had come to fully recognize Robson’s strength and were beginning to subconsciously see him as they saw Valentino.
"Fengman! I am your sword and shield..."
"Fengman! A Knight’s loyalty..."
It didn’t take long for the Fengman Knights to rally behind Robson after his call.
"Capture the Beastman Prince alive! Charge!"
Robson said no more. With a great shout, he led the army in a charge.
....
"Your Highness! The humans are breaking through!" Castro cried, looking back at the charging human Knights before turning to Prince Odoruo with a panicked expression.
"So fast!" In an instant, panic spread among the Officers.
"Quick! Drop everything! Mount up and ride!"
"Hurry!"
Prince Odoruo yelled at his Personal Guard.
"Your Highness... these Magic Crystals..."
"Drop them! Drop them all!"
"The maps and Scrolls."
"Drop it all, do you not understand?"
The situation had reached a point where even Prince Odoruo could no longer keep his composure.
"Retreat towards the forest!"
"Capture the Beastman Prince alive..."
"Capture the Beastman Prince alive..."
Hearing the chants carried from the humans behind him, Prince Odoruo’s face darkened.
’If I’m really captured by these humans, my future is over.’
"Retreat!"
