Chapter 235 - 234: Profound Heart Pill and Jade Dew
Chapter 235: Chapter 234: Profound Heart Pill and Jade Dew
"Thank you, Brother Li!" Shi Yutong took out a Jade Bottle, placed the Profound Heart Pill inside, and hurriedly prepared to leave.
But Li Ping stopped her. "Sect Leader Shi, here are the Spirit Medicines for seven more Profound Heart Pills."
Shi Yutong waved her hand dismissively. "The remaining Spirit Medicines are your payment for the Alchemy, Brother Li. I must be going."
With that, she strode urgently out of the hall before Li Ping could say another word.
Watching Shi Yutong leave, Li Ping opened his mouth to speak, but ultimately just shook his head.
He had known from their interactions over the years that Shi Yutong was a very generous person, but he never expected her to simply give him all the remaining Spirit Medicines as payment.
After all, most of them were precious, thousand-year-old Spirit Medicines.
Even the high and mighty Core Formation Cultivators treasured them and couldn’t bear to waste a single one.
And Shi Yutong had given them to him, just like that.
’This works out well. With the Spirit Medicines from Shi Yutong, I just need to gather a few common Spirit Medicines and I can start refining Yuan Condensing Pills.’ A smile appeared in Li Ping’s eyes.
At the same time, a hint of anticipation flickered in his eyes. ’I hope the Profound Heart Pill can cure Qianxue Master’s Qi Deviation. Once she recovers, the situation in the city will stabilize.’
He was a man who loved peace and hoped for a stable environment where he could develop slowly.
...
After receiving the Profound Heart Pill, Shi Yutong rushed to the palace where her mother was in seclusion.
’I hope the Profound Heart Pill works,’ she thought.
She had already asked a high-tier Physician within the Sect to diagnose her mother’s condition. The diagnosis was an emotional collapse caused by overwhelming grief, with some other contributing factors.
And the Profound Heart Pill was the treatment that Physician had proposed.
When the treatment was first proposed, she had worried whether Li Ping’s Alchemy skills would be enough to successfully refine a Tier Three Pill.
But now that she had the Tier Three Profound Heart Pill, she worried whether the Pill could actually cure her mother.
Overcome with anxiety, she quickened her pace.
But just as she reached the great hall where her mother was in seclusion, a kind-faced, elderly female Foundation Establishment Cultivator blocked her path.
"Elder Lei, whatever it is, can we talk later? I’ve had the Pill refined, and I’m on my way to treat my mother now." Shi Yutong looked anxious, but her tone was still polite.
This was because the elderly Foundation Establishment Cultivator before her was her first teacher.
When she was young, her parents were either in seclusion for their cultivation or busy with Sect affairs, so they had no time to teach her.
During that time, it was primarily Elder Lei who taught her to read and write.
After her Spiritual Root was discovered, it was also Elder Lei who guided her in Qi Refining and cultivation.
In truth, Elder Lei was her master.
However, as the child of a Core Formation Cultivator, she could not formally take a Foundation Establishment Cultivator as her master. Therefore, although they had the reality of a master-disciple relationship, they did not share the title.
What Shi Yutong found strange was that Elder Lei was advanced in years and her time was short, so she almost never left her residence.
Furthermore, Elder Lei was a person indifferent to fame and fortune and had never used their close bond to trouble her with personal matters.
Yet today, she had suddenly appeared here, blocking her way.
What Shi Yutong failed to notice was the look in Elder Lei’s eyes, which was filled with heartache and worry.
Hearing Shi Yutong’s hurried words, she nodded slightly. "Yutong, I know you are a good child. You’ve done a very good job handling the Sect’s affairs recently."
Shi Yutong was baffled. ’Did Elder Lei stop me just to tell me this?’
She shook her head. "Thank you for your praise, Elder Lei, but it’s only what I should be doing. I need to deliver this Pill to my mother now. Can we talk later?"
Elder Lei sighed and nodded. "Let’s go see to the Master together. This old woman and the Master have known each other for many years. Perhaps she still remembers me."
Shi Yutong finally understood. Elder Lei had appeared because she was worried about her and her mother.
She nodded emphatically. "Yes, of course!"
A moment later, the two entered the great hall where Qianxue Master was resting. They administered the Profound Heart Pill and watched as she fell into a deep sleep, only then did they both breathe a sigh of relief.
Elder Lei gave her a look and led Shi Yutong outside the hall, her eyes filled with worry. "Yutong, I’ve heard about the Loose Cultivators in the city..."
She wasn’t just concerned for Yutong and her mother, but also for the Sect where she had spent her entire life.
...
With the task of refining the Profound Heart Pill complete, Li Ping found himself with free time. He cultivated until nightfall, then flew to the roof of his palace to silently sense the fluctuations of aura outside the Sect.
He focused his senses for a long time, but the world outside was utterly still.
It was pitch-black, like a bottomless abyss lying in wait to devour someone whole.
’This is not good,’ Li Ping sighed to himself.
His worst fears had come to pass.
The silence outside the Sect was explanation enough.
The Loose Cultivators who had been plundering the city hadn’t taken advantage of the chaos to attack each other.
That left only two possibilities: either they had left, content with their spoils, or they had organized themselves and were plotting something big.
The first scenario would be fine, but if it was the latter...
Li Ping flew down, returned to his hall, and once again took stock of the various measures at his disposal.
In theory, now that he had refined the Profound Heart Pill for Shi Yutong, Qianxue Master could recover, and the Flying Snow Sect could turn the crisis around.
However, nothing was certain, and he also had to prepare for the possibility that the Profound Heart Pill would have no effect on Qianxue Master.
Li Ping’s most lethal assets were still his Tier Two Upper Grade Spirit Talismans. Over the years, whenever he had free time, he would draw Furious Thunder Talismans to relax. Before he knew it, he had accumulated over a thousand Furious Thunder Talismans in his Storage Bag.
