Benjamin Sinclair had been pacing anxiously in his bedroom for half an hour before trying to call Adam Sinclair again. The result was the same as when he called Baron Lawrence before; the call was hung up after a few rings.
In anger, he slammed the phone onto the sofa, stood up, and paced back and forth in the room. After calming down a bit, he headed out with a grim face to the third floor to find Renee Anderson.
Renee had opened the door with high hopes, expecting to hear good news. To her surprise, Benjamin was only there to relay what Assistant Terrence had said on the phone earlier.
After speaking, he scrutinized her suspiciously and asked, "Renee, what’s going on with that journalist? Are you aware of the news online?"
Renee’s whole body was stiff, her chest felt like it was on fire, yet her body was cold to the bone. In this clash of extremes, she could barely control her expression and denied with difficulty, "I don’t know, Uncle Sinclair, I really don’t know there were journalists outside, nor do I know where that journalist came from. I also don’t understand why President Lawrence would think this is related to me, what benefit would I get from doing this? I don’t want to destroy the relationship between President Lawrence and his wife. I really don’t understand..."
Benjamin took a deep breath, his eyes still filled with suspicion, but his expression softened a bit, "The incident has already happened, and Young Master Lawrence has also misunderstood. Family members kept calling, asking her what was going on, urging her to find a solution.
Yet Benjamin Sinclair wouldn’t help, and Adam couldn’t possibly help. She had contacted all of Grandpa’s friends, but none of them were willing to wade into these troubled waters. The only person left by her side willing to help was Austin Harper, but he had no real connections, and the Harper Family was a mess themselves. Even though Austin ran around for her, every update he brought back was bad news.
