Benjamin Sinclair’s square face darkened as he held down his temper. "As for Adam, I’ll find a chance to sit down and talk to him properly! This time I won’t let him mess around anymore. You’re pregnant now, before the baby is born you two are bound to get married sooner or later."

Renee Anderson bit her lower lip, secretly delighted, but none of it showed on her face. "I still want to raise this child myself. Adam doesn’t like kids. If I force him to acknowledge the baby, he still won’t be happy about it. That’d be bad for me and bad for the child. It’s better if I raise the baby from the start. Maybe when the child is a bit older and he figures things out, he’ll be able to get along with the kid better."
"He dares treat the child badly!" Benjamin was about to explode again, but there was no one here he could vent at. After raising his voice he could only slowly suppress his anger again, forcing himself to use a gentler tone to soothe her. "Renee, don’t worry. I’ll make him take responsibility for what he’s done. As for him and that Star, they’ll break up sooner or later! I’m on your side. That Star can forget about getting past me! You just stay here at ease and focus on the pregnancy. Tomorrow I’ll arrange a few experienced gynecologists to stay by your side and take care of you. Whatever you need, just tell the servants, I’ll hand them the black card."

One reason Benjamin was willing to accept her was because of the child in her belly, and another was that she was different from Olivia Lewis—she had a family background behind her.
Even if her family background couldn’t quite match Adam’s, it was still better than Olivia’s.
