Chapter 2873: Chapter 2882: A Devilishly Gentle Man
"I’m back, what are you doing?"
The person on the hospital bed leaned back against the pillow at the headboard, busy with their hands and without looking up, said, "Playing a game with my darling."
"Oh, dammit! That’s so sneaky of you, hiding in the bushes. It’s over, I’m dead." Olivia Lewis put down her phone in frustration, then looked up, surprised, as if she just noticed him, "Adam Sinclair? How did you come back so soon? Aren’t you busy?"
She seemed to remember something and asked awkwardly, "You didn’t come back because of my call, did you? Jeez, I’m fine, I was just woken up by the crew, had nothing to do in the morning and gave you a call. If I had known, I wouldn’t have called you."
Adam Sinclair walked to her bedside, gently reached out to touch her forehead, checking its temperature, "It’s not because of your call, I just wanted to come back."
"Did the doctor check on you today?"
Olivia Lewis was in a VIP Hospital Room; Adam had specially arranged a team of experts to take care of her injuries. Almost every day, the medical staff conducted three scheduled check-ups to prevent any accidents.
He had just come in from outside, there was still a chill in his palm, the sensation on her forehead was indescribable, like an electric shock, a mild current passing through their contact point. Olivia’s muscles suddenly tightened, her beautiful peach blossom eyes glanced to the left, slightly uneasy, she said, "Yes, they checked at nine o’clock. The doctor said my recovery is very good, better than expected. I’ll be able to be discharged in a week at most."
She was restricted to bed every day by someone, not even allowed to get off the bed; if she doesn’t get discharged soon, she’s going to be suffocated.
"I know you want to be discharged, you can, but I need the doctor to perform a comprehensive check-up first. Once it’s confirmed that there’s no problem, you can go out." Adam confirmed her forehead’s temperature was normal and withdrew his hand, "You had a fever a few days ago, fortunately, the wound didn’t get infected. Before the comprehensive check-up report is out, I won’t agree to your discharge."
Olivia Lewis, "..." With his standards, she might not be able to leave for another month!
Ignoring this, her gaze suddenly fixed on the man’s handsome profile.
Adam instinctively turned his head slightly, avoiding her gaze, then lifted her horizontally from the bed.
"Ah..." Olivia, who was focused on his face, suddenly found herself suspended in the air, startled by Adam lifting her like a princess, "Adam, what are you doing?"
"You want to go out, right? I’ll take you out. Don’t move around; be careful not to touch the wound."
He walked steadily, carrying her upright, taking steps towards the outside.
As soon as they went out, the medical staff brought a wheelchair over.
"Young Master Sinclair, here’s the item you requested."
"Mm."
Adam extended his long legs to the brand-new wheelchair, carefully placing her onto it.
Only after settling did Olivia realize this wheelchair had been specially modified. The cushion beneath was soft, just like sitting on a sofa, and a cushion was thoughtfully prepared behind her to prevent her right shoulder from bumping.
Adam took a blanket from the medical staff, thoughtfully laying it over her legs, his peach blossom eyes looking deep and charming, he asked, "Are you cold? Do you need me to get you a coat?"
Olivia shook her head, "No."
"Get me another blanket." Still worried, Adam instructed the nurse to bring another blanket, placing it by Olivia’s side, then circled to the back of her, pushing her, he said, "If you feel cold later, remember to tell me, I’ll wrap it around you."
