Chapter 2861: Chapter 2870: Dedicated to the End, Death Before Resignation
"Enna is probably still asleep this early." Olivia Lewis impulsively called him, only to realize she had nothing to say, "Are you busy?"
Adam Sinclair glanced back at the line of assistants in his office waiting for him to sign documents, and without blinking, he lied, "Not busy, just finished a meeting, it’s break time."
Olivia didn’t have a supernatural eye; how would she know he was just making that up to keep her on the phone longer.
"...Is that so."
"Yeah." Just hearing her voice, Adam’s sharp peach blossom eyes softened, his delicate and aristocratic features bathed in light, exuding an unspeakable gentleness, "Are you bored being alone? Should I call Sunny and have her keep you company?"
Olivia immediately declined, "No need, Sister Sunny recently took on several newcomers, she’s swamped with work, don’t give her more trouble."
Adam furrowed his brow, dissatisfied, "Isn’t she just managing you?"
He always thought Sunny only had Olivia as an artist under her wing.
"Who are the newcomers under her care? I’ll have Thomson take them over so that she can focus solely on you."
Olivia’s manager, of course, he hoped she could dedicate herself entirely to Olivia.
"Thomson? Are you talking about your famous manager?" Olivia said speechlessly, "Stop fooling around, that person’s even busier. They handle a King of Acting and two Queens of Acting, and you want them to manage newcomers as well. Aren’t you afraid they’ll quit?"
"They won’t quit, I have leverage over them. They’ll serve Sinclair Corporation loyally, until their dying day." Adam said with utmost calm.
"..."
’Serve loyally, until their dying day...’ the way he used that idiom... Olivia heard the playful tone in his voice. While she knew he was partly joking, he likely did have something on that super manager.
Olivia said, "I still don’t want to. I haven’t done much work in the past year, and for the next half-month or month, I might still be recovering, with no work. If Sister Sunny only manages me alone, she’d just be forced to be unemployed along with me."
So that’s what she was worried about. Adam’s brows relaxed as he casually said, "I’ll pay her salary, it won’t be less than when you’re working."
Olivia really wanted to retort with ’you’re nuts,’ but held back, choosing another way to reply, "It’s not about the money. Sister Sunny isn’t someone who’s only after money, otherwise, she wouldn’t have managed me for so many years. She’s taking on newcomers because my workload recently dropped dramatically, and she has nothing to do. She doesn’t want to waste the connections she’s built up. Plus, I’ve discussed my future career plans with her. I may not stack my schedule like I used to; my plan is to guarantee one high-quality movie a year. I’ll continue endorsements. Other activities will depend on my mood.
I’ll have plenty of time then. The resources that come to me, if I don’t take them, will just go to others. The newcomers Sister Sunny is managing are signed under my studio. When the time comes, I’ll work with her to manage these people, I’ll provide the resources, and she’ll manage them. The profits will be split 30/70 between me and Sunny.
In this way, I can consider it as having started a small company. Even if I decide to stop acting one day, I can still rely on the studio, so I won’t be poor and hungry."
