Chapter 1711 - 1701: He’s Not Answering the Phone
Chapter 1711: Chapter 1701: He’s Not Answering the Phone
"Mr. Harris, could you come out for a moment?"
Scott Harris noticed she had something to say, so after greeting the doctor, he followed Enna Clark outside.
In the corridor, Enna briefly explained what had happened earlier, and with a defeated expression, she said, "Baron Lawrence isn’t answering my calls right now. I want to go out and look for him."
Scott didn’t expect that things between the two would escalate so quickly.
He wasn’t aware that Baron Lawrence had regained his memory. After listening, he frowned with growing anxiety.
While comforting Enna, he took out his phone and said, "Ms. Clark, don’t worry. I’ll try calling Lord."
"Alright."
Enna wasn’t hopeful.
If Baron Lawrence really wanted to answer, he would have picked up her call already. If he didn’t answer her calls, there was even less chance he’d answer a call from Scott.
As expected.
Scott made several calls, but no one answered.
Feeling awkward, Scott put his phone away and avoided meeting Enna’s eyes as he muttered consolingly, "Lord didn’t answer. Maybe he didn’t see his phone."
Hayes had just comforted her in the same way.
But everyone tacitly understood the situation.
The chances of Baron Lawrence not seeing the phone were almost zero; the most likely scenario was he saw it but didn’t want to answer.
Enna pressed her lips together and said firmly, "Mr. Harris, let’s go out and look for him. I’m worried."
"But Ms. Clark, do you know where Lord went?"
"..." She didn’t know.
Enna gritted her teeth and said, "Let’s go back to the villa first to see if he’s returned."
That seemed the only option. Scott realized this and nodded in agreement, "Let’s go, Ms. Clark. I’ll get the car."
"Alright, okay."
Enna followed his lead...
In the car, Scott didn’t forget to reassure that Baron Lawrence had most likely gone back.
Enna wasn’t in the mood to respond, so she just managed a weak smile and nodded to show she understood.
Scott was also very concerned about Baron Lawrence’s injured hand, so he drove quickly.
In no time, they were back at the villa.
Enna quickly got out of the car and rushed into the villa.
The villa was brightly lit, and servants were cleaning. When they saw her hurriedly rush in, they asked in surprise, "Ms. Clark, why are you back?"
"Has Baron Lawrence returned?" Enna’s heart sank upon hearing her words but still held onto a sliver of hope for a miracle, grabbing her shoulder and asking insistently.
Even the slowest maid realized something was up and shook her head blankly, saying, "Young Master Baron hasn’t returned."
The last glimmer of hope was ruthlessly shattered.
Enna felt as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over her head, her hands unconsciously sliding off the maid’s shoulders.
Scott couldn’t bear to see the dejection in her eyes, taking a step forward, saying, "Ms. Clark, Lord might be out for a walk to clear his head. He should be back soon. Why don’t you wait a bit longer at home?"
Enna felt that Baron Lawrence wouldn’t be coming back tonight.
She shook her head without speaking.
Scott signaled to the maid, who wisely went to make a cup of hot coffee, "Ms. Clark, have some hot coffee to warm up."
Enna had caught a chill and been startled earlier, and now her stomach indeed felt discomfortingly heavy.
She managed a smile and said, "Thank you."
Then she reached out for the coffee the maid handed over, taking a small sip.
After drinking something warm, the discomforting heaviness in her lower abdomen didn’t ease. Instead, it became more pronounced with the warmth in her stomach.
