Chapter 2934: Sleeping On the Same Bed Like Brothers
Chapter 2934: Sleeping On the Same Bed Like Brothers
Zu An was excited when he first arrived at the scene. The two ladies were familiar faces.
Who else could the white-robed woman be other than Yan Xuehen? Similarly, the black-robed woman was Yun Jianyue. He had parted ways with them for a long time. There was no news whatsoever, and he had no idea where he could look for them amid the vast Myriad Worlds. He hadn’t expected to reunite with them here.
Those two were indeed sworn enemies. They were bickering even in this world.
He intended to reunite with them, only to quickly sense something amiss. Why does it seem like Yan Xuehen doesn’t recognize Yun Jianyue at all?
What bothered him more was how the crowd had addressed Yun Jianyue as ‘Boss Zhang’. It occurred to him that this was a replica of the event where Zhang Fei smashed the green beans that Guan Yu was trying to sell.
Yan Xuehen and Yun Jianyue are my Guan Yu and Zhang Fei?
He had expected two brawny men, but they turned out to be gorgeous beauties instead.
The two women were getting serious in their fight. Terrifying shockwaves rippled from their clashes, wrecking nearby stands and stores.
However, Zu An keenly noticed that the destruction caused was significantly lower than normal. He scanned the surroundings and noticed runes glowing on the distant town walls. There was a formation in the town that was greatly dampening their destructive prowess. If not for their high cultivation, the two women wouldn’t even have been able to damage the buildings while under the formation’s suppression.
Sensing that things might go awry at this rate, Zu An ran in between the two women and shouted, “Stop fighting!”
It just so happened that the white-robed woman and the black-robed woman were hurling punches at each other, and it was too late for them to withdraw their attacks. They could only try their best to reduce their might.
Pah!
Dust flew. Zu An stood in between the two women, separating them with his palms.
The white-robed woman’s cold eyes rippled when she saw Zu An. She was about to speak when the black-robed woman reacted even more intensely.
“Ah Zu!” The black-robed woman dove into Zu An’s arms and embraced him.
The white-robed woman’s eyebrows shot up. She quietly retracted her hand.
“Big sister Yun...” Zu An was moved as well.
Back when he returned to the Cultivation World, he found that many of his old lovers had entered Divine Palaces and ventured into the Myriad Worlds. While he didn’t know their exact whereabouts, he at least had some clues about where they went.
However, Yun Jianyue disappeared despite not having entered a Divine Palace, so he had no idea where he could begin searching for her at all.
Their reunion moved him so much that he felt like thanking fate.
The two of them hugged for a long while, until the white-robed woman coldly looked away and marched off.
Yun Jianyue noticed her movements and quickly stepped back from Zu An’s embrace. She remarked with a smile, “Quick, go and coax her. The ice statue is getting jealous.”
“What do you mean by ice statue?” the white-robed woman asked.
Yun Jianyue was taken aback. She had thought that Yan Xuehen was pretending not to know her, which was why she intentionally provoked the latter. However, it was clear as day now that Yan Xuehen really didn’t recognize her.
Zu An hesitantly called out, “Tingxue?”
Yun Jianyue blinked. What are they roleplaying as now?
But the white-robed woman nodded in response to that name. “We meet again.”
“What’s going on?” Yun Jianyue asked.
Zu An briefly told Yun Jianyue about how he met Tingxue before proceeding to introduce the two women.
Tingxue remarked, “You have a lot of women with you, be it the last time we parted or our reunion now.”
It was a jab, but Zu An wasn’t embarrassed in the slightest. Instead, he remarked, “It’s rare to hear you speak so much.”
Under his intense gaze, Tingxue awkwardly looked away.
“Is she really not the ice statue?” Yun Jianyue frowned. She sensed that there was something between those two.
“By ice statue, you’re referring to Yan Xuehen?” Tingxue asked.
It amused Yun Jianyue to see Yan Xuehen acknowledging her own nickname. “Of course.”
“Why do you call her that?” Tingxue couldn’t understand why she was feeling annoyed. She shouldn’t have been so prone to experiencing emotions.
“It’s because she’s as cold as a lump of stone.” Yun Jianyue struggled to suppress her smile.
Tingxue’s expression turned cold. Even though she had no idea why Yun Jianyue was smiling, she could tell as much that it wasn’t anything good. She felt inclined to start another fight with the latter.
Zu An quickly stopped them. “Let’s not cause a spectacle here. Shall we go somewhere private to chat?”
Yun Jianyue waved her hand. “Follow me.”
Tingxue was reluctant to tag along, but Zu An grabbed her hand and dragged her with them.
Soon, they arrived at a massive residence in the middle of the town. Several servants rushed out to greet them.
“Welcome back, boss.”
Zu An and Tingxue were speechless.
Yun Jianyue struggled to keep a straight face. “I wanted them to call me sect leader, but there already is a Taiping Daoism Sect in this world, and the leader of the Yellow Turban Army, Zhang Jiao, is also being addressed as ‘sect leader’. The imperial court has deemed the Yellow Turban Army as rebels and is cracking down on them. I told them to call me boss instead to avoid being implicated in that.”
Zu An chuckled. Yun Jianyue is addicted to being the boss of the underground world, no matter where she goes.
He looked at the entrance plaque, which contained the words ‘Zhang Manor’, and asked, “Is there someone named Zhang Fei here?”
“Audacious! How dare you call our boss by her name?” the servants roared.
“Who do you think you are shouting at? This is my lover!” Yun Jianyue glared at the servants before leaning against Zu An’s chest with a blissful smile.
The servants were shocked. They had never seen their boss behaving so coyly before. How should we address the boss’ lover?
Zu An was still shocked despite having fathomed a guess. He waited for the crowd to leave before secretly asking her, “Your name is Zhang Fei in this world?”
Yun Jianyue felt embarrassed. “They have been calling me that ever since I got here. I figured it was my identity in this world, so I didn’t bother correcting them.”
Zu An turned to Tingxue dazedly and asked, “Tingxue, is there any chance that you go by the name of ‘Guan Yu’ in this world?”
Tingxue was taken aback as she hadn’t told them yet. “How do you know?”
By then, the three of them arrived at the courtyard. Zu An noticed the peach blossom trees in the courtyard and fell silent.
It was recorded in the annals that Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei were so close that they shared a bed. That statement gave rise to rumors that Shu Han[1] was filled with gay people. Who could have expected that this was the truth?
Zu An chuckled under his breath. “What a beautiful peach blossom forest. Fate must have brought us together in this foreign world. Why don’t we make an oath of fraternity?”
“An oath of fraternity?” Yun Jianyue smiled. “I’d prefer an oath of marriage.”
Tingxue placidly replied, “Do whatever you two want. Don’t involve me in it.”
I left the last time because this fellow told Firework to do it with my appearance. What is he scheming this time?

Some rough background:
The Qin Dynasty united China as one, but it was short-lived.
Liu Bang and Xiang Yu toppled the Qin Dynasty, and the former founded the Han Dynasty (thus the Liu Imperial Family). The Han Dynasty is divided into two time periods—the earlier Western Han and the later Eastern Han.
We’re currently in the final years of the Eastern Han. Unfortunately, there are many underlying problems in this era.
First, the imperial family has failed to keep the officials and nobles in check, resulting in them growing very powerful (think of Korean chaebols and Japanese zaibatsus, but these people have their own armies).
Second, the eunuchs grew too powerful. Eunuchs are palace servants, but the fact that they directly serve the imperial family means they can influence politics and decision-making through their words. It also doesn’t help that some emperors saw the eunuchs as family.
These eunuchs engaged in corruption, taking bribes, placing their family members in important positions, and plotting the deaths of powerful officials who dare to go against them. They were a huge reason the emperor lost the support of quite a few loyal subjects.
Third, there were quite a few disasters and plagues during this time that became the final straw.

The leader of the Yellow Turban Rebellion, Zhang Jiao, is a daoist sect leader. He has two younger brothers, Zhang Bao and Zhang Liang. He is known as the General of Heaven, and the three brothers provided care to impoverished patients. They saw how the local government oppressed the peasants through harsh labor and heavy taxes, so they plotted rebellion.
They have a slogan: ‘Heaven is dead. A Yellow Sky will rise in its place.’
The Yellow Turban Army wears yellow headbands, as a symbol of Zhang Jiao’s prophecy that a new era (Yellow Sky) is coming.
1. The nation later founded by Liu Bei. ☜
