Chapter 2511: Appearance

Chapter 2511: Appearance

Zu An had a deep impression of the Feather Mountain Spring Water. While it was incapable of truly reviving a dead person, its effects were very close to that. He had already consumed all the spring water he obtained the first time, and he often regretted not procuring more.

Now that he was here again, he'd wanted to gather more spring water. He was surprised to not find it here.

“What are you looking for?” the Saintess asked.

Zu An told her about the Feather Mountain Spring Water. “I've noticed that there are many differences from the last time I entered this place. I’m even starting to wonder if it’s the same place.”

The Saintess chuckled. “Other than the points you have mentioned, the rest is the same, right?”

Zu An thought about it. “Yes, most things remain the same except for those details.”

“The divergence could be caused by the difference in spacetime.” By now, the Saintess had already recovered from the shock of falling in the water. “The last time you entered this dungeon was millennia in the future. Much could have changed in the meantime.”

Zu An thought that was a sloppy explanation, but he couldn’t find any explanations for the anomaly.

“Speaking of which, when talking about this dungeon, the Monster Lord and the Lord of Slaughter mentioned the Celestial Court. Where is the Celestial Court?” he wondered as he looked upward. He remembered seeing a brilliant light in the sky back then, and then the Celestial Emperor had gifted him the Sun Slaying Bow. If there was a Celestial Court here, that was the only sign of it he'd seen during that trip.

Unfortunately, he'd seen neither the Celestial Emperor’s face, nor the Celestial Court. He only remembered that the sky had been covered in colorful, auspicious clouds.

The Saintess was perplexed. “I don’t know why the monsters thought there was a Celestial Court here, but they must be disappointed now.”

Tens of thousands of kilometers away from where Zu An and the Saintess were, the Lord of Slaughter looked at the vast world before him in a daze. “Where’s the Celestial Court? Where’s the Celestial Court?!”

He had no idea what the Celestial Court looked like, but he didn’t think it would be like this. The world around him was completely barren. How could this be the Celestial Court?

Salamay also knew about the legends concerning the Celestial Court. “This world’s ki is richer than our original world. The Celestial Court might be hidden here somewhere.”

The Lord of Slaughter’s eyes lit up. “Yes, you’re right. I lost my nerve for a moment there. I should have thought about that. Let’s take a good look around. We should be able to find the Celestial Court.”

Salamay nodded. From time to time, her eyes would scan the surroundings.

“Are you looking for the Fiend races’ Saintess and that mysterious man?” the Lord of Slaughter asked.

Salamay nodded. “Mmhm. Uncle Mo is missing too.”

The Lord of Slaughter spent a moment in thought before replying, “It could be because we entered the light gate at different times, resulting in us being transported to different places.” As the leader of the Monster World, he had also grasped the secrets of space. It wasn’t difficult for him to deduce what was going on.

“I see...” Salamay looked both regretful and relieved at the same time. It would be troublesome if Zu An interrogated me while my father is injured. Once my father recovers from his injuries, I won’t have to fear anyone anymore.

“Earlier, you mentioned that you came from the future. Tell me more about it,” the Lord of Slaughter said.

He had already secretly brought up matters that only he and his daughter knew about to test her, and he could also feel his bloodline aura in her. That convinced him that she was his daughter as an adult. But this matter still sounded inconceivable to him. He was also curious to know who that powerful, mysterious man was. There were too many questions in his heart.

Salamay knew that for them to work together, she had to share her information with her father, so she told him about everything that had happened.

Despite everything the Lord of Slaughter had been through, he was still shocked to hear Salamay’s story. His face darkened. “You’re saying that the Monster Lord successfully replaces me in the future?”

Salamay assessed her father’s expression and carefully replied, “But the Monster Lord didn’t meet with a good end either. He eventually died to that fellow named Zu An.”

The Lord of Slaughter frowned. “That mysterious fellow is strong, but he’s still lacking compared to the Monster Lord. How did he defeat the Monster Lord?”

“If I’m not mistaken, the Monster Lord was weakened by the world’s law...” Salamay explained the situation then. In truth, however, she was also unsure how Zu An had defeated the Monster Lord.

“It must be the compounded effect of the world barrier and that Zu An’s possession of the World Law Beacon. By weakening the enemy and strengthening himself, he gained an advantage over the Monster Lord and killed him,” the Lord of Slaughter sneered. “I didn’t expect the Monster Lord’s real body to be his mount. Even I was fooled. If I didn't know that, I would be at a huge disadvantage if I fought a life-and-death battle with him.”

Salamay looked hesitant to speak.

The Lord of Slaughter laughed. “You may speak frankly. Your father is not that weak-hearted.”

Salamay thought it was best for him to know about how he'd ended up so he could guard against it, so she said, “Father, you’ll be sealed inside a formation in a place called the Sealed Land in the Cultivation World. The culprit seems to be the Fiend races’ Saintess.”

“Her?” The Lord of Slaughter frowned. “How did she have the power to seal me?”

Salamay added, “But now that you know, as long as you tread carefully, that woman won’t be able to get her way. We should kill them after we’re done using them, lest they become a threat.”

The Lord of Slaughter nodded, but he still felt uneasy.

Meanwhile, Zu An was discussing their next destination with the Saintess. He was thinking of heading somewhere he could obtain useful information.

“Why don’t we go to Kunlun Mountain?” the Saintess proposed.

“Kunlun Mountain?” Zu An was surprised. That wasn't one of his options. “Why Kunlun Mountain?”

“Kunlun Mountain is said to be the ancestor of all mountains. There are legends about Kunlun Mountain in ancient fiend records. Such renowned places tend to have rare herbs. If the Brilliant Pinflower exists in this world, the odds are that it’s at Kunlun Mountain,” the Saintess explained.

Zu An nodded. Even if not for the Brilliant Pinflower, he would still decide to stop by Kunlun Mountain to gather some clues about the Celestial Court. After all, in the legends, Kunlun Mountain had intricate ties with the Celestial Court.

“I’m feeling uneasy. Where did the Time Scribe go?” Zu An frowned. Such an elusive expert had gone completely silent. He was worried that the Time Scribe was scheming something.

“He might have infiltrated the Monster Lord’s faction. After all, he is the true master of the Monster World millennia in the future,” the Saintess said.

“Let’s hope that's the case.” Zu An was still feeling uneasy, however.

Soon, sunset arrived. The many ferocious beasts in this world made traveling at night very dangerous, so the two of them found a cave to rest in.

There were too many things to worry about, so Zu An wasn't in a mood to fool around. Instead, he spent his time in thought.

Just then, the Saintess shyly whispered something into Zu An’s ears.

Zu An burst into laughter. “Don’t go too far away. Call me if anything happens. I’ll rush over.”

“All right. You mustn’t sneak up on me!” the Saintess said coyly.

“I’m not so perverted as to pounce on someone relieving themselves.” Zu An laughed.

The Saintess glared at him before rushing out with a reddened face.

A moment later, Zu An shook his head. She sure is shy to run so far away. Oh well, she’s no longer a sheltered miss, but the renowned Fiend races’ Saintess. She can protect herself now, and I can rush over if anything happens too.

Thus, he continued racking his brain to remember the details of what he'd seen when he came here millennia in the future. He felt as if he had overlooked something.

Meanwhile, the Saintess glanced back at the cave coyly, as if she was afraid that her lover would follow her. But as she walked further away, the coy expression on her face slowly disappeared. Suddenly, she sped up and began traveling rapidly toward the mountain. Some time later, she halted her footsteps and coldly called out, “Isn’t it about time for you to reveal yourself? You have followed us for so long.”

Applause echoed from behind. If Zu An were here, he would have been surprised to learn that Mojard had been following them.

Mojard looked intrigued. “I’m curious. Even Zu An didn’t notice me. How did you know?”
