It took five days before Xiang Ling was able to complete the deal of selling spiritual pills to Lingshan Hall. When she first showed Manager Wu her collection of high-grade pills that she wanted to sell, the old man almost lost his mind.
After calculating the worth of all the pills, they both realized that the Lingshan Hall in Dongzhi City couldn’t provide such a huge amount of money. Hence, Manager Wu contacted the main branch in the Capital City and arranged the money.
There were a total of twenty level-three pills and around a hundred level-two pills. Also, there was a very rare level-three pill - Profound Essence Pill, which could help a cultivator breakthrough within days into the next level of cultivation. Xiang Ling presented this rare pill for the next month’s auction and the main branch of Lingshan Hall was more than happy to accept her offer even though they paid her over a hundred thousand silver taels for one single pill.
A thousand silver taels were equal to one gold tael. Hence, after the long wait of five days, Xiang Ling received a total amount of hundred and seventy-two golden taels.
With this much amount of money in her possession and her ability to produce such rare spiritual pills, she immediately received a VVIP token from Lingshan Hall. This deal also made her one of the richest people in the younger generation of Nanxia County. Unfortunately, she was the only one who knew about this great news. Only heaven knew what sort of chaos would have shaken Dongzhi City if they found out about this piece of shocking information.
Currently, it was the early hours of the night and after dinner, Xiang Ling returned to her chamber to work on her next project.
"You want to buy lands?" Wei Guang asked in surprise as he finished studying the map Xiang Ling had just shown him.
Nodding her head in response, Xiang Ling tapped on a spot on the map and spoke, "Look here, there are lots of empty lands between Dongzhi City and Shaolin Town. On the left of Shaolin Town are the Lotus Pond Village and Bamboo Grove Village, both of which are some of the biggest villages in Nanxia County. On the right of Shaolin Town is the Xinyang Town. While these four places are located in close proximity, their distance from Dongzhi City is over half a day by carriage."
Wei Guang listened attentively as Xiang Ling kept explaining. "I have looked through the business routes of Dongzhi City and the nearby towns and villages. All the merchants and travelers have to waste quite some time while traveling from these places to Dongzhi City or vice versa since they can’t stop on the way during the night as the wilderness doesn’t provide them with any safety."
Xiang Ling watched as Wei Guang nodded his head. He was following her explanation closely and almost understood what she was trying to say. However, what he didn’t understand was what all this information had to do with her buying lands. When he asked the same, she quickly pointed at a certain spot on the map.
"Look here. This place is in the middle of Dongzhi City and the nearby towns and villages, at a maximum distance of three hours from both sides. How about we buy this land and start an Inn here?" She brought out her idea and waited to hear what the man had to say.
Wei Guang didn’t respond immediately and just silently kept studying the map while thinking about everything that she just told him. After certain long moments had passed, he finally spoke while pointing at something on the map.
"Look at this. The place you have chosen is also on the same route between Wudang Sect and Misty Valley. A lot of disciples from Wudang Sect take this route on a daily basis to visit Misty Valley to compete with wild beasts to train as well as to find treasures from the valley." Wei Guang sounded just as enthusiastic as Xiang Ling. "If you indeed open an Inn here, you will get around a minimum of a hundred customers on a daily basis."
"Hundred?" Xiang Ling was stunned after hearing the numbers.
Wei Guang turned his attention toward her and asked, "Haven’t you noticed the amount of people who enter and leave Dongzhi City daily? Even if half of them stopped at the Inn, they will be more than enough to keep you busy with work the entire day. Also, there are still the disciples of Wudang Sect."
Xiang Ling felt a bubble of pure happiness floating inside her as the realization dawned over her. Feeling overexcited, she grabbed the man and wrapped her arms around his shoulders as she threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly as she shouted. "I’m so happy, so happy, so happy!"
Wei Guang was completely taken aback by her actions for a moment but then a soft smile bloomed on his lips and he wrapped his arms around her to return the hug.
"Don’t get too excited yet. Buying such a big land will require a lot of money-"
He didn’t get to finish his sentence before Xiang Ling pulled back from the hug and cupped his face between her palms. "We don’t have to worry about money at all. I have more than enough. We will open a huge Inn, one that no one has ever seen before. Everyone will be talking about our Inn in no time. Believe me."
There was so much excitement and confidence in her twinkling eyes that Wei Guang found himself nodding his head in response. He did believe her.
It was not until the smile on her lips faltered and her expression became serious, did he realized that he just spoke the words out loud and not just thought them in his mind.
Everything was too silent and still for a long moment and then, he felt her lips capturing his in a kiss that made him forget everything but the woman in his arms.
